So CPS did come to the hospital to see the baby- but the nursing staff refused to let them in?! WTF is up with that?! I've never heard of that happening before? I didn't even know that was possible for nurses to stop CPS from seeing a baby!

An Oregon woman has pleaded no contest to first-degree manslaughter in the starvation death of her baby.

The News-Review of Roseburg reports that 23-year-old Amanda Hancock’s trial had been scheduled to start Wednesday. She now awaits sentencing.

Hancock and the baby’s father, Stephen Williams, were arrested in Glendale last year after an autopsy determined the 7-week old baby died of starvation. The father pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to go on trial next April.
