Florida woman being held hostage turns to pizza ordering app for help

A central Florida woman who says her boyfriend was holding her and her children hostage sent a secret message asking for help in an online pizza order.....

......received an online order for pizza Monday afternoon from Cheryl Treadway. Under the comments section, Treadway wrote a message asking employees to call 911. The employees alerted police.

When deputies arrived at the home, Treadway answered the door and said her boyfriend, Ethan Nickerson had a knife. Deputies escorted Treadway and a child to safety and.... Nickerson was arrested. Two other children in the home were unharmed.

Deputies say Nickerson had been holding Treadway all day until she convinced him to let her order a pizza on her cellphone.

Nickerson was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill, battery, false imprisonment and obstructing justice by depriving communication to law enforcement.

I wonder about the "without intent to kill" stipulation. Doesn't the whole, "don't leave this house, I've got a knife," thing imply an intent to kill, or was she to assume he would just poke them gently if they attempted to flee?

They should use this for their next ad campaign:
Dominoes, Our pizza might taste like a salty sponge, but you can use our app to escape hostage situations!;)

@Momzilla is was Pizza Hut. LOL

I really enjoyed reading this story this morning. Good for her, smart thinking! It fills me with joy to know the world is not full of complete morons.

Oops. Dominoes, Pizza Hut...all the same to me. Since I moved away from the East Coast, that is. ;)
Thanks for the correction. :)

Oh PIZZA HUT... well then I have to apologize, their pizza does not taste like a salty sponge-- their pizza tastes like a greasy sponge!!!:p

(I'm spoiled, growing up in New England. We have shitty weather, but awesome pizza joints!!!)

Oh you are on point about that! I hate chain pizza. I live in Philly and didn't even about many of them until I moved away from here. I only knew Pizza Hut because we would get free personal pan pizzas for reading at school. LOL
