A 3-year-old Mansfield girl now in a Columbus hospital suffered serious injuries while her aunt and uncle were "administering discipline," according to documents from Mansfield Municipal Court.
"John K. Miller and Ashley Miller were taking care of six children belonging to his sister Kimberly Gheen for the past month while she was in rehab," according to the court document.
"John and Ashley Miller were administering discipline to Kaylie Gheen that created serious physical harm to her".....
The Millers have been charged with felony child endangering after staff from Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus contacted Mansfield police early Sunday after the girl was taken there for treatment of serious injuries.
The hospital staff members said the injuries appeared to be consistent with possible abuse, according to Mansfield police.
Kaylie Gheen was reported in serious condition Monday. Her mother, Kimberly Gheen said, the girl's condition is "not good at all."
Six other children in a house on Pawnee Avenue related to this incident also were taken to OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital and later Nationwide to be evaluated, Mansfield police Capt. Shari Roberton said Monday.
Mansfield resident John Miller, 24, who was charged with felony child endangering, entered a not guilty plea Monday in Mansfield Municipal Court. He was arraigned via video arraignment in Magistrate Phil Naumoff's courtroom, according to court records.

Miller is in the Richland County Jail on a $250,000 cash bond, and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Ashley Miller, 23, also has been charged with felony child endangering in the same incident. She remains in the Richland County Jail. Her bond is the same as her husband's, according to court records.
