I tried to edit my above post but my computer isn't cooperating, I can't post it because the video covers the post button. So...

Reading through the youtube comments on this one some fucking window-licker was bashing the songs, saying it's about drugs and that's just awful:rolleyes:. Ummm, no stupid, the withdrawals are from losing the woman he was in love with, not drugs:banghead:. Fucking retards:facepalm:. Apparently listening comprehension is a dying art like reading comprehension is.:finger:

See Asleep at the Wheel Bring the Swing to 'Letterman'
On Monday night's show, Western swing legends Asleep at the Wheel bid farewell to Letterman with a rousing rendition of the Twenties pop-jazz standard, "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," featuring special guest vocalist Kat Edmonson. In addition to spotlighting bandleader Paul Shaffer on keys and members of his Late Show Orchestra horn section during the performance, the driving number from the iconic group's latest guest-filled album, Still the King: Celebrating the Music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, also featured peppy fiddle work from the nine-time Grammy-winning band's own Katie Holmes and the steel guitar of the group's Eddie Rivers. Since school's been over for good :arghh:, my new e-comm work schedule is driving me...:banghead:...and building up a brand new clientele for the biz I'm starting is sloooow (hoping to be working for myself completely by this time next year :woot: *fingers crossed*), I've had even more time at home now :wait: and I'm going buh-NAH-nuz (I love my home, but daayum). :bored: Probably why I can't get this steenkin' earworm :singing: out of my head, and naturally, it's one of the few, old Styx songs I don't particularly care for. :meh: So, I'm dropping this off out of sheer desperation hoping it'll :stop: and stay here where I put it. :turtle:

Just some great, intermediate tunage to sing along with if you're into some of the more alternative-ish stuff. :)

Diary of Jane ~ by Breaking Benjamin

If I had to I would put myself right beside you
So let me ask, would you like that? Would you like that?
And I don't mind if you say this love is the last time
So now I'll ask, do you like that? Do you like that? No!

Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place
In the diary of Jane
So tell me how it should be!

Try to find out what makes you tick as I lie down
Sore and sick, do you like that? Do you like that?
There's a fine line between love and hate and I don't mind
Just let me say that I like that, I like that

Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place
In the diary of Jane

As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find my place
In the diary of Jane
So tell me how it should be!

Desperate, I will crawl, waiting for so long
No love, there is no love
Die for anyone, what have I become?

Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place
In the diary of Jane

As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find my place
In the diary of Jane

Angels Fall ~ Breaking Benjamin

I try to face the fight within, but it's over
I'm ready for the riot to begin, and surrender
I walked the path and it led me to the end, remember
I'm caught beneath, there's nothing left to give forever

When angels fall with broken wings
I can't give up, I can't give in
When all is lost and daylight ends
I'll carry you and we will live forever, forever

Grey skies will chase the light away no longer
I've fallen in fight, now only dark remains forever

Divided I will stand
And I will let this end

When angels fall with broken wings
I can't give up, I can't give in
When all is lost and daylight ends
I'll carry you and we will live forever, forever

The sun begins to rise and wash away the sky
The turning of the tide, don't leave it all behind
And I will never say goodbye

When angels fall with broken wings
I can't give up, I can't give in
When all is lost and daylight ends
I'll carry you and we will live forever, forever
Forever, forever

And just because I love to sing this one at the top of my lungs, live and concert. :)

Still Frame ~ Trapt

Please help me 'cause I'm breaking down
This picture's frozen and I can't get it out
Please help me 'cause I'm breaking down
This picture's frozen and I can't get it out of here
Release me, I'm just as lost as you
Believe me yea, I'm just as lost as you

And every time I think I've finally made it
I learn I'm farther away than I've ever been before
I see the clock and it's ticking away
And the hourglass empty
What the fuck do I have to say

Please help me 'cause I'm breaking down
This picture's frozen and I can't get it out
Please help me 'cause I'm breaking down
This picture's frozen and I can't get it out of here
Release me, I'm just as lost as you
Believe me, I'm just as lost as you

Keep it inside, the image portrayed
As if I couldn't stand losing as if I couldn't be saved, no way
A small confession, I think I'm starting to lose it
I think I'm drifting away from the people I really need
A small reflection on when we were younger

We had it all figured out
'Cause we had everything covered
Now we're older it's getting harder to see
What this future will hold for us
What the fuck are we going to be?

Please help me 'cause I'm breaking down
This picture's frozen and I can't get it out
Please help me 'cause I'm breaking down
This picture's frozen and I can't get it out of here
Release me, I'm just as lost as you
Believe me yea, I'm just as lost as you

Lost, lost, lost, lost, lost, lost, lost, lost
I'm just as lost as you, oh babe
What am I going to do?

I'm afraid I'm falling farther away
I'm falling farther away
I'm falling farther from where I want to be
I'm afraid I'm falling farther away
I'm falling farther away
I'm falling farther away

Please help me 'cause I'm breaking down
This picture's frozen and I can't get it out
Please help me 'cause I'm breaking down
This picture's frozen and I can't get it out of here
Release me, I'm just as lost as you
Believe me, I'm just as lost as you

I'm just as lost as you
(Not breaking me down)
I'm just as lost as you
(Not breaking me down)

And just because this one is another I love to crank til the windows rattle and sing along with. Killer in concert.

Eyes of a Stranger ~ Queensryche

All alone now
Except for the memories
Of what we had and what we knew
Every time I try to leave it behind me
I see something that reminds me of you
Every night the dreams return to haunt me
Your rosary wrapped around your throat
I lie awake and sweat, afraid to fall asleep
I see your face looking back at me, looking back at me

And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare

Is this all that's left
Of my life before me
Straight jacket memories, sedative highs
No happy ending like they've always promised
There's got to be something left for me
And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare (Lies behind my stare)

How many times must I live this tragedy
How many more lies will they tell me
All I want is the same as everyone
Why am I here, and for how long

And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
I've always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare

You folks posting lyrics for the hearing impaired users here? Not sure what they'd be doing in a music thread anyways.

Anyways, cuz i'm in a good mood

Hey @JackBurton , welcome to the music thread. Not everyone listens to entire songs. Some people are more lyrics fans and just like reading the messages/themes in the songs. I listen to every song I haven't heard and most all of them I already know. The lyrics to yours look pretty cool:

Lyrics to No One

I'm not the beast they've made me out to be
I've done some good things
I've done some good things
Like you, I've stumbled once or twice
And done some bad things
I've done some bad things
My body is a thing corrupt and wrong
It is guilty
Yeah, it is guilty
My spirit is the thing that's dragged along
It is innocent
Lord, it is innocent
O, separate my body from my soul
O, separate my body from my soul
Let's go back to how things were back then
When I was younger
When I was younger
Everything was either black or white
It was easier
So much easier
Now everything, it looks so gray
I'm older
Now, I'm older
Show me a man who deserves to die
You cannot convince me
You cannot convince me
Now, show me a man who deserves to live
You have no evidence
You have no evidence
O, separate my body from my soul
O, separate my body from my soul
I tried so hard to tell you truth
But I lied to you
I have lied to you
The things that you learn and know so well
They are fleeting
Yes, they are fleeting
You're the one who told me who I was
You said you're no one
So now I'm no one
O, separate my body from my soul
O, separate my body from my soul

Happy Earth Day!

Eat your beets, recycle...recycle...
Don't eat your beets, recycle...recycle

The message is; 'THERE IS NO MESSAGE'

Babe, God, you better not ever think,
Staring into the drink... get out of my mind...
'cause I may not be the one to say,
is there no other way we could do this another day?

I saw God.

She said...'If you don't believe me, guarantee you'll never leave me'
On my way, and out of your time
'cause I didn't even know if it was true or just a result of chemicals

Shut up and think of something more important to say...
'Sometimes I think that in every straight there's a gay!' Something or nothing a whole either way it's a way,
it's a way, it's a way, it's a way, it's a way
EARTH DAY, EARTH DAY, EARTH DAY, EARTH DAY
it's a way, it's a way, it's a way, it's a way
EARTH DAY, EARTH DAY, EARTH DAY, EARTH DAY

It's like your birthday, it's on Earth Day,
Like a child you're born again, little child you're bored again...
It's your worst fucking day, it's on Earth Day...
Little lies to cover up...please make your mind up

(Eat your beets, Recycle...recycle...)
(...Don't eat your beets, recycle...recycle)

Man Overboard (I'm so far away)
Man overboard (I'm so far...)
But fuck it! ...I really don't care
Fuck! Listen to me! Just shut the fuck up!

Peace, Love, Joy
Man overboard (I'm so far...)
Hate, hell, war
Hate, love, love, hate, love, hate...destruction!

So just shut your face and take a seat
Because after all, you're just talking meat...and music?
Well, it's just entertainment folks.

Sometimes I think that I really have something moreto say...
'Sometimes I think that in every straight there's a gay!' ...forgive me for saying it blows either way, it's a way,
it's a way, it's a way, it's a way, it's a way...

It's your birthday, it's on Earth Day,
Like a child you're born again, little child you're cold again...
It's your worst fucking day, it's on Earth Day
Little child your time is up...please turn the heat up

You need your beets, you recycle...
...Don't eat your beets...recycle...

Man overboard...I'm so far away...

I own two video game stores, and these are my playlists for them: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC48icJg3SZLZl6kj13JDo3w/playlists

Basically, everything except the "liked videos" playlist are songs that I could and mostly do listen to every single day. Of course, since these are family stores, most of the songs don't have cuss words, tho one or two bad words do slip thru on some songs. They also have to be songs that wouldn't bother most people who'd hear them (mostly... that Mac Dre song, for instance, is a good example of how censoring words doesn't always obscure the meaning... and then that whole punk playlist is probably going to get absorbed into the alternative playlist so that it's not so abrasive for other people). I've tried to make the playlists as diverse as possible... mostly so I don't get tired of listening to the same stuff every day. LOL

I'm hoping that some day my stores become franchises and I can look into licensing these songs for play in the stores (as what I'm doing right now is technically illegal but it's not like we have speakers in the walls so I could argue that I'm just listening to music on the computer, not broadcasting it for others).

Love these two songs by Jaymes Young.

I had sort of a love/hate relationship with his voice when I first heard it, but he's since really grown on me. :)

and then, different music traditions get mixed and something new and powerful comes along. In this case, the baroque music from Spain and some African rythms:
