But Robin said those leading the investigation had not been made aware of the clip, which journalists working for German daily newspaper Bild and France's Paris Match claim to have watched in full.

Casting doubt on the existence of the footage, Robin told CNN: 'A person who has such a video needs to immediately give it to the investigators.'

But Paris Match today said that it stands by the controversial story, which was written in collaboration with the German newspaper Bild.

Lubitz's friends have claimed the 27-year-old is being framed for murder as part of an elaborate cover-up by his airline company to hide mechanical faults with the plane.

Earlier today, it emerged that Dutch pilot Jan Cocheret 'predicted' the Germanwings crash several weeks ago in an article written in a specialist flight magazine.

Mr Cocheret, who flies a Boeing 777 for Emirates airlines warned: 'I hope I never find myself in the situation where I go to the toilet and return to find a cockpit door that won't open.'

The pilot was writing for Dutch flying magazine Piloot en Vliegtuig (Pilot and Plane) where he expressed his fears, posing the question: 'I seriously wonder who's sitting next to me.'

His article warned that someone could use the security procedures introduced in the aftermath of the 9/11 atrocities to prevent an aircraft's captain re-entering the flight deck after a rest break.

'There indeed does exist a way to get back into the cockpit, but if the person inside disables this option (the security code to get in), one could do nothing but sit with the passengers and wait and see what happens.

Germanwings co-pilot 'researched suicide methods in days before crash'


As French investigators announced they had found the second black box recorder from the wrecked plane, Ralf Herrenbrück, the German prosecutors’ press spokesman, said the a tablet computer found in the co-pilot’s flat had been analysed.

“The browser history had not been deleted, in particular search terms called up using this device in the time from 16 March to 23 March 2015 could be reconstructed,” Thursday’s statement from Herrenbrück said.

“According to these, the user was, on the one hand, looking into medical treatments and, on the other, learning about the different methods and possibilities of committing suicide.”

On at least one day, according to the statement, Lubitz had spent several minutes entering search terms about cockpit doors and their security arrangements.

The user name, personal correspondence and search terms found on the tablet all appeared to confirm that the device belonged to Lubitz, Herrenbrück said. He added that they would not be releasing the exact search terms used and that the device was still being examined.

This story is exactly why I have a fear of flying. And I get to fly twice next week,hurray.

Also, the fact that it is left up to the patient to disclose his medical/mental problems to his employer rather than obligatory for his doctor to do so makes me sick. This guy didn't work at the local supermarket ffs. Lufthansa seriously needs to rethink their policies.
Although I will cut them some slack because I'm sure it didn't occur to them that anyone would be selfish and narcissistic enough to ever do this. It's sad when you have to start assuming the very worst in people.
