A 6-year-old boy called 911 Monday to report that his mother left him and his younger brothers in the car while she was in the Dorsch Memorial Library in Monroe, police say.

Authorities say the kids were inside the library with their 25-year-old mom, but were taken out to the car when the two younger boys, ages 4 and 2, were running around and being loud. The woman took the kids out to the car and left them there while she went bank inside the library to continue working on the computer....

On the 911 call, the boy can be heard telling authorities "my mom is being mean to us" and that "we're at the library."

....that he was in a car in the parking lot while his mother was inside the library.

Another woman called police to report that there was a car in front of the library with "three very small children left unattended in it."

An officer arrived and escorted the boys inside. The mother told police she was worried she was going to get kicked out of the library before she could finish her financial paperwork.

The car doors were left unlocked and the windows were rolled down. It was 30 degrees outside while the kids were in the car.

After the police spoke with the woman, the children were released back to their mother.

Police say the woman could possibly face unattended child and child abuse charges.

OMG! It has changed so much since I was a kid! My father would leave my sister n I in the car for what seemed like forever so he could go in the tavern! We were psyched because it was right next to the drive in and we'd tune the radio to hear it and we could see the top half! While I understand the plight of a mom with 3 small kids, major no no these days even your 6 year old knows that! Planning, planning, planning mom!

What gets me is that she took them out to the car because they were causing a ruckus. A little discipline, some solid routines, defined expectations and consequences go a really long way with your kids.

My brats are close together in age, I've been there having them the ages of hers and I have not once had to lock them in a car for misbehaving in public, even at age 2, definitely not at age 4.

Dude that kid is too much "My moms being mean and left us in the car" little smart one right there he's going to have child protective services phone number on speed dial when he hits 9 anytime she threatens him he's going to rat her out.

We got in trouble once coz the baby D didn't have shoes on. And another time coz she was banging on library shelves. I love her coz she's a rebel.
At that age they should know how to play with each other without Mom having to referee every five minutes. I know I can and mine are 17mts and 6y/o. Also 3 kids by 25? She needs to use part of that money to get her tubes tied. Where is the father(s) to watch these hellions? Anything but possibly losing your kids coz you were expecting the library to babysit your kids.

Damn, she left the kids out in 30 fucking degree weather?! She's not ready for this parenting thing.
