Yeah but then she'd whine about that shit for years afterwards. Very few things worse than a female that can't talk a good dicking like a woman. Besides, she can't be any good in bed since she couldn't get the ring from Travis.:p

I had a feeling someone was going to say that ("hot"). I honestly think she's a cute girl, but my son-in-law thinks she has horse-mouth. I was like, "Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?" And then the light bulb came on. Son-in-law. "Nevermind, Dave, TMI." lol

PHOENIX (Reuters) - Jury selection began in Arizona on Monday to decide whether convicted murderer Jodi Arias will be executed for the 2008 slaying of her ex-boyfriend in a case that drew a national audience with its sex-laced and gory testimony.
[...]
"The big key (for prosecutors) is being able to convince the jury that this was a depraved woman seeking a vengeance killing against her ex-boyfriend and that it is sufficient for the death penalty," said Brent Kleinman, a local criminal attorney who attended most of the original trial.
[...]
Following the guilty verdict, jurors found her eligible for the death penalty but deadlocked on what punishment to give her, forcing Judge Sherry Stephens to declare a mistrial.

Since then there has been a flurry of motions, mostly from Arias' lawyers, that have been dealt with largely behind closed doors as the judge apparently seeks to counter critics who said the original trial had elements of a circus-like atmosphere.

Stephens has turned down requests for the proceedings to be streamed live or broadcast the same day, ruling footage can be shown only after the verdict.

The new jury should begin hearing the case next month, with the trial now due to conclude Dec. 21. If they deadlock also, a judge will decide if Arias gets life in prison, or life with the possibility of parole after 25 years.

I hadn't realized till I saw this thread that Arias murdered Mr. Alexander six years ago. Six years. The wheels of justice grind slowly.

Very slowly.
I found Demon during the first trial at the end of 2012. I hope like the judge said that there will be less of a circus and media hype this time. Turned down streaming of the trial thank god.

Sex, Lies And Murder: Key Dates In The Jodi Arias Case
[...]
For five months in 2013, the Arias jury -- and trial watchers from around the world -- were captivated and sickened by the brutality of Arias’ crimes and the perverse sexcapades, the most lurid details of which came directly from the defendant's mouth during 18 days on the witness stand.

Arias sought to portray herself as a physically and emotionally battered woman, forced to succumb to her boyfriend Travis Alexander's perverted desires. The prosecution argued that she was an eager partner, who turned into an obsessive stalker
[...]
Arias' over-the-top jealousy came to a boil on June 4, 2008. Alexander was found dead in his bathroom shower, with more than two dozen stab wounds over his naked body. His throat had been cut from ear to ear and he was shot once
[...]
At first, Arias told police she simply wasn't there. She even reached out to her ex-boyfriend's family to mourn with them. Then, when damning photographs tied her to the crime scene, she maintained that masked intruders stormed Alexander's home, and that she kept silent in fear
[....]
She would later tell jurors that she'd been so abused by Alexander, she couldn't recall specific details of the incident.
[...]
expert called to the witness stand by her lawyers attributed this to post traumatic stress disorder.

Arias' changing story no doubt played a part in the jury finding her guilty of first-degree murder. Her bizarre accounts of her personal life -- and her obsessive behavior -- only made it harder for the jury to sympathize
[...]
"It is like a field of lies has sprouted around her as she sat on that witness stand ... every time she spat something out, another lie, another weed would grow," Maricopa County prosecutor Juan Martinez
[....]
But when the trial reached the penalty phase, the same panel of jurors were deadlocked over whether to spare her life or give her the death penalty.

Next week, the penalty phase retrial is set to play out in a Phoenix courtroom as Martinez once again attempts to convince a new jury to send Arias to death row.

The retrial, which
[....]
will be live blogging, will take a new panel of jurors through the same salacious evidence. The defendant's guilt is no longer in question, but her sentence remains in limbo.

This timeline follows the case from the moment Arias and Alexander met, up to the latest developments.

5 Things To Know About Jodi Arias Sentencing Retrial

Jurors in Phoenix will once again be asked to decide whether Jodi Arias should be executed for the gruesome murder of her former boyfriend.
Lawyers are expected to make opening statements Tuesday
[....]
more than a year after a jury found her guilty of killing Travis Alexander
[...]
The first jury deadlocked on whether to sentence her to life imprisonment or death.

A new jury that was picked over the past several weeks will be sworn in as the former waitress tries to make another case that her life should be spared. They won't consider whether or not she's guilty - that's already been decided.
[...]
retrial is expected to last into December.
Here are five things to know about the case:

THE CRIME
[....]
stabbed and slashed Alexander nearly 30 times, slit his throat so deeply she nearly decapitated him and shot him in the forehead. She left his body in his shower where friends found him about five days later
[...]
She acknowledged she killed Alexander, but claimed it was self-defense after he attacked her. Prosecutors said it was premeditated murder carried out in a jealous rage after the victim wanted to end their affair and planned a trip to Mexico with another woman.

SENTENCING
[..]
after Arias was convicted, the jury failed to reach a unanimous decision on her punishment. Her attorneys have since sought, unsuccessfully, to dismiss the death penalty as an option.

If another deadlock occurs, the death penalty would automatically be removed as an option, leaving a judge to sentence Arias to one of two options: life in prison or life in prison with the possibility of release after 25 years.
[...]
sentencing retrial will be a mini-trial of sorts to get a fresh jury up to speed on the case.
NEW JURY

Four hundred people were called as prospective jurors. Many of them were cut after they said they either made up their minds about the case or knew too much to be impartial.
[...]
ARIAS

[...]
her last trial, she testified for 18 days, describing for jurors an abusive childhood, cheating boyfriends, dead-end jobs, a shocking sexual relationship with Alexander, and her contention that he was physically abusive. Her first trial drew a global following and inspired spectators to wait in line in the middle of the night to get a coveted seat in the courtroom.
[...]
the judge has ruled that cameras can record the proceedings, but nothing can be broadcast until after the verdict.

COSTS

The costs of defending Arias have topped $2.5 million and will mount during a second penalty phase. Prosecutors have declined to provide their costs to try the case.

Jodi Arias’ attorneys file to dismiss charges because of 'prosecutorial misconduct'
A computer forensic expert hired by Arias' defense discovered that thousands of files, mostly of pornography, had been deleted from victim Travis Alexander's computer during a three-hour period when it was in Mesa police custody.

for convicted murderer Jodi Arias have filed a motion to dismiss all charges against her, alleging prosecutorial misconduct.
[....]
filed late Monday alleges a computer forensic expert hired by the defense discovered that thousands of files were deleted from the computer of Arias’ ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, while it was in police custody.
[...]
most of the files were pornographic.

Mesa police personnel testified previously that there was no pornography on Alexander’s computer, and prosecutors disputed Arias’ testimony that she had walked in on Alexander viewing pornography and he apologized for it.

Arias was convicted last year of killing Alexander at his suburban Phoenix home, but jurors deadlocked on her punishment.

i have to admit, i would not be able to say which way to go as well. on one hand, i would not want my tax $$ to keep her alive, on the other, if i ever thought some one should have a rough go of it in prison, she is in the top 10.

Great. Yeah, she should have "all her charges dismissed" and knock her case costs into the stratosphere dragging her drama out even more for viciously butchering then shooting her b/f because somebody messed w/some porn on his computer. Better yet, just let her go! Why? Because she's Jodi F**king Arias. Smh.

calm down buttercup. she has been convicted. they are just trying to figure out if she should just be put down or put in a hole.

Lol, thanks. I'll settle for either one as long as they just get it done. Everytime I hear her name attached to some new 'stop the presses' drama I just wanna hurl. I hope commissary is out of makeup and hair color for her next interview. :bored: :joyful:

It's up to jury now! I think a verdict will be reached sometime today and Jodi will be off to prison. This day has been a long time coming.
Celebrate! Have your favorite Starbucks today. Pick up some Pop Rocks. Enjoy

Any thoughts on her change of heart from 'I want to be sentenced to death' to 'I don't want to be sentenced to death'?

I'm just wondering if her being sentenced to death really would have made her happy but asking for it probably would mean she probably wouldn't get it - so we went with the 'don't kill me' to make is seem like death wasn't what she wanted??

Just one of those things I wonder.

I followed this case so close during the trial, but couldn't keep up this round (darned work kept getting in the way).

a shocking sexual relationship with Alexander. really? Like what? They both look really vanilla, and IMO, she doesn't strike me as being all that alluring, which I've read she's supposed to be. I don't think she's pretty or cute etc and people keep saying she's attractive.:stop:

I know if I read up on this case, I'd find her truly hate-worthy  :vomit:

Is that true? Was there any explanation?

It's not exactly true. Travis' computer was not full of porn, but someone using the computer had visited porn sites (and apparently he had roommates who used the computer too). Nothing particularly scary or kinky and definitely no kiddy porn (as in Arias' accusations against the victim). Some of the history seems to have been deleted from the computer—whether intentionally or not isn't clear.

It's sort of complicated, but the technical f-up by LE means the appeals start the second the sentencing verdict comes in (standard procedure if she gets death, anyway). So this murdering liar will be clogging up the courts for quite some time to come no matter what her sentence is. :grumpy: In a way, best would be if she gets life—as she'd have to personally scrape up the money to pay her lawyers. If she gets the a death sentence, she'll get government funding for lawyers to help run her self-serving circus of lies, pretty much forever more.

(And since when is looking at porn a f*cking capital offense anyway?????)

They had ANAL, dude. And used KY!!! :jawdrop: ;) I've been following this case for a long time, and she really is hate-worthy.

What was shocking and hate-worthy was that she testified about it for over 10 days. Then there was the PopRocks and Tootsie Rolls... :vomit:
