The family of a mother-of-four whose disappearance sparked a murder inquiry have made a plea for her to come home.

Samantha Henderson, 25, from Corfe Castle, Dorset was reported missing just before 08:45 GMT on Thursday.

A 27-year-old man from the village, who is known to Ms Henderson, has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

Det Insp Neil Devoto said police had "grave concerns" for her and appealed for information from anyone who may have seen her or had contact with her on social media.

"While we are hoping for the best, sadly we believe she may have come to some harm," he said.

"She has never gone missing before and, from what we understand, it is almost unfathomable that she would have left her four young children."

She is described as white, 1.60 metres (5ft 3 inches), of a very slim build and with blonde hair.

She was seen wearing a grey jumper, blue jeans and slippers.

The partner of a mother of four who has been missing for six days has appeared in court charged with her murder.

Police are carrying out a major search for Samantha Henderson, 25, from Corfe Castle, Dorset, but say her whereabouts is still unknown.

Dominic Isom, 27, of Halves Cottages in the village, appeared before Bournemouth magistrates earlier.

A body has been found in the search for missing mother Samantha Henderson.

The body was found, in a lake in the Hamworthy area of Poole, more than a week after the 25-year-old mother-of-four disappeared, Dorset Police said.

The coroner has been made aware, although formal identification has not yet taken place. Next of kin have been informed.

Post-mortem tests on the body of a woman - believed to be missing mother-of-four Samantha Henderson - have shown she was violently attacked around the head and neck.

The detective leading the inquiry into the death said police were "confident" the body was that of the 25-year-old.

Det Insp Neil Devoto, of Dorset Police, said a post-mortem examination had been carried out on Saturday afternoon.

"It confirmed that the victim had suffered a violent assault that appears to have been focused on her head and neck," he said.

"Detectives are confident the body is that of Samantha Henderson, the 25-year-old mother-of-four from Corfe Castle missing since last week. The coroner is aware of the death and formal identification by her next of kin is expected to take place this weekend.
