for unknown reasons this 14 yr ol girl got into a car at 7/11 with someone she had been messaging with on fb. Her friends tried to talk her out of it but she didn't listen. her friends even tried following the car that went to a waterpark where various freaks passed a gun around and shot her. I have a feeling there is allot more to this story and these thugs were wanna be gangstas that hopefully will be charged as adults as from what I gathered they too are teens

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Three teenagers have been charged in the murder of a 14-year-old girl at a Kansas City water park, reported CBS affiliate KCTV.

Alexis Kane, 14, was found dead at a Kansas City, Misssouri water park.

Alexis Kane, an eighth-grader, was found dead on Jan. 11, not far from her middle school. Three teenagers -- two 17-year-olds and Dominic McDaniel, age 18 -- are accused of brutally beating and taking turns shooting her.
All three have been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, according to the station. Prosecutors have requested that each defendant be held on cash bond of $500,000.

According to court documents and surveillance videos, the victim got into a car with two of the suspects at a 7-11 convenience store.

Her friends said she had arranged to meet with one teen through Facebook messages, and while they told her not to get into the vehicle, when she did, they followed her. After losing sight of her, Kane's friends told her to to turn on her cellphone's location services, according to court documents.

The teen suspects went to an apartment -- leaving afterwards -- and headed towards the water park, according to the CBS affiliate.

Surveillance video from the park shows that one of the teens allegedly hit the victim in the face with a handgun and then the others passed the gun around, shooting her multiple times.

Multiple 9mm shells were found at the scene, according to court records.

Police say it took over 100 local and federal officers to find the suspects.

"There is just no sense to this. I can't give you a motive. It's senseless. A 14-year-old is no longer with us. I cannot give you a reason that makes any sense," Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker told KCTV.

The victim's family told the station they can begin to heal, now that the three suspects have been captured and charged.

She was such a pretty little girl to have to go and get herself around garbage like this

Missouri has the death penalty doesn't it?

How gangsta to attack an innocent 14 year old. She looks lovely in that photo. Glad they found these guys if this is what they get up to on a weekend, so senseless.

Why?! What a senseless, cruel & stupid thing to do. Surely they didn't believe that they'd get away with this?! The FB messages, surveillance cameras at the store & water park, plus numerous eyewitnesses including her friends. Smh. I'm not quite old enough to be saying this, but - What the FUCK is wrong with this generation?

What kind of upbringing do you have that teaches you irs ok to kill someone because you need the fun? Who came up with idea and never thought of consequences? This was not a victimless crime. There are many victims and they will never be the same. Peace for the family and friends

Hell yeah we do!

I am glad these little fuckwads were caught! I feel for her family :(
I hope these asshats go to prison. Please let them be charged as adults. Fucking hell. Shoot her up and beat her just for the fuck of it! ENRAGING!
What is happening to our world? I mean I know there will always be people like this. But why do they have to start being kids now?

What is the minimum age limit on the death penalty there? Depending on the minimum age limit, I doubt the 17 year olds would get the DP, even if they were tried as adults.
U r correct. Under the 8th amendment, it's considered cruel and unusual punishment to give anyone younger than 18 at the time of their crime, the death penalty.

While I'm pro DP, I was just answering the question. In this case, there are no mitigating factors (torture, rape, robbery, heinous crimes etc) that would make this case eligible for the 18 year old. Not that I've read yet, at least. Unless he's charged with capital murder and not just first degree, he isn't eligible.
I suppose maybe they could claim kidnapping, but that's up to the DA.

ETA: read aggravating, not mitigating. Thanks Azry. ;)

Just because I see it used so often, and not always by you:

Mitigating circumstances are those that would be presented in an effort to lessen the punishment.

Aggravating factors are those which would be presented in order to make the punishment more severe.

Apologies. Lol. We use mitigating for punishments at work, so it stays in my head.
Thanks. :)

Jesus the eyes of the first two look so damn blank and soul less and the last fucker looks like he thinks he's untouchable! Dont Care what age they are kill them asap!

The Supreme Court case that that was behind the abolishing of the death penalty for those under hte age of 18 is Roper vs. SImmons, which interestingly enough is a case that originated in Missouri. It was decided in 2005.

I personally hope it is overturned back to the original. If the crime fits........

One of the men accused of killing a Kansas City teenager accepted a plea agreement for the murder of Alexis Kane, found murdered in January 2015 at a south Kansas City water park.

Dominic McDaniel, 19, was indicted by a grand jury on First Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action, along with two other teens. On Monday, McDaniel pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action. He'll be sentenced at a future date and faces 15 years in prison.

Isaac "Malik" Carter, 18, and Ce-Antonyo D. Kennedy, 18, are also accused of Kane's murder. They are set for trial later this year.

Prosecutors say Carter, Kennedy and McDaniel hit Alexis in the face with a handgun and then passed it around, taking turns shooting her multiple times.

Looks like the other two asshats are electing to go to trial.

Cant we just wait til hes 18 then give him dp.. Like the judge would say.. You are sentenced to prison until you turn 18.. Then you get the death penalty

That would be amazing lol

The last of three defendants in the 2015 killing of a 14-year-old girl at a Kansas City water park has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Ce-Antonyo D. Kennedy, 19, had been convicted of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Alexis Kane. He was sentenced Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court.

Alexis, who attended Smith-Hale Middle School, was beaten and shot to death on Jan. 11, 2015.

The two other defendants were sentenced earlier this year.

Dominic McDaniel, 20, received five years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action.

Isaac M. Carter, 20, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action.
