BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Five people, including two elementary school students, were arrested Sunday after police investigated online threats made against another student.

Bloomington police were notified Saturday by officials with Fairview Elementary School about an Instagram video that showed two students making threats and brandishing an AK-47-type weapon. One of the boys in the video made threats toward a female student and her brother. He said the gun was real and the two people were going to get "lit up," police say.

The police investigation revealed that the threats were made after an argument about a dating relationship.

Police searched for, and found the 11 and 12-year-old students in question. They were taken to the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village in Knox County.

Officers then went to a house to locate the weapon in the video. Laquita S. Perry-Leverston, 33, retrieved the weapon and a pistol from the trunk of a car. Both were BB guns, police say.

After a warrant was obtained, police began searching the house. A 17-year-old walked out of the house and told officers they weren't going to touch him. He began to resist and was arrested. The 17-year-old was handcuffed and placed into a patrol vehicle, where he tried to kick out a window and threatened to kill an officer, police say.

Two adults, Paris R. Leverston Sr., 37, and Perry-Leverston, became upset when the 17-year-old was arrested. According to Bloomington police, "Attempts were made to explain to her the reason why, but both adults continued to be loud and disruptive." Both were arrested.

All weapons seized by police were BB guns, not actual guns.

The people arrested face the following charges:

  • Juvenile male, 11: Intimidation
  • Juvenile male, 12: Intimidation
  • Juvenile male, 17: Intimidation and resisting law enforcement (Had been on probation for armed robbery, burglary charges in 2016)
  • Paris R. Leverston, 37: Disorderly conduct
  • Laquita S. Perry-Leverston, 33: Disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement

Shoulda tased the 17 year old.

This clan is pretty fundamentally screwed up.
Don't see much of a future for them out of jail.
They will continue to have run ins with LE.
I blame the DNA donors.

Just go ahead and throw them all in the same cell. All seem destined for life behind bars.

Exactly what I was going to post.

This country needs to think about making larger prison cells for families just like this.
Like the dog pound with double size pens for mother's with puppies.

Looks like the apples didn't fall far from the tree... eleven and twelve year olds issuing death threats, though? They're just kids themselves... :pout:

Whose dating relationship? Since the youngest spawn was involved maybe some parents wisely forbade their child from seeing a member of of the family from hell.

Its a shame that parenting has come to this
Bullying in social media lack of respect and pure ignorance
