A
Florida man has been arrested on child porn charges while in the process of trying to adopt.
Erik Thomas Deemer, 33, was arrested at his home in Edgewater on Thursday on suspicion of possessing child pornography.
Police say the man accessed images of children between the ages of four and nine. One included an image of a child tied up, it is alleged.
Authorities launched an investigation into Deemer in October after receiving an anonymous tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Deemer was arrested on 11 counts of child pornography and is being held in county jail where his bond has been set at $165,000.
On social media, he referred occasionally to his 'wife' but no record of her could be found.
He conversed with Google+ users who he thought were children, including an 11-year-old boy.
Deemer's posts about adoption date back to 2015 when he talked about receiving a 'home study' visit from adoption agencies.
