http://www.nbc40.net/news/20966/VINELAND - A local community is shaken up after a 23-year old mother was found dead in her home over the weekend.
Britton Loyden, 23, of Vineland was found murdered in her home late Friday on the 1900 block of South Main Road according to police.
She was reported missing by her family last Thursday. Her 1-year old son was found unharmed in the care of his father 24-year old Ismael Pierce.
Pierce was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
"It was an absolute shock, I actually cried for this young girl," said Julia Siniavsky who lives on South Main Road near Loyden's home.
"I used to see her with the kid walking in and out," she said. "Nice kid, beautiful little boy. My heart bleeds for these poor people and the little boy, its really tragic and very sad, they don't deserve it," said Siniavsky.
Pictures of the couple can be seen on Pierce's Myspace page. Last Thursday, Pierce posted a message on his Twitter page that read, "Is the risk worth the reward."
The next day Pierce posted another message that read, "Trying to remain relaxed."
Neighbors said they do not know Pierce, but feel something should have been done before it got to this point.
"I couldn't believe it got so bad so fast and something tragic happened, there's no reason for it," said Siniavsky.

Mother says Vineland murder victim was not engaged to man accused of killing her

http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/...cle_924e0daa-56a1-11e1-a0bc-0019bb2963f4.htmlVINELAND — Britton Loyden and the man accused of killing her last week had no relationship for the past 16 months, Loyden’s mother, Tracy Freese, said.
Ismael Pierce, 24, of the 900 block of South Spring Road, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on a charge of murder, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.
Pierce is the father of Loyden’s 1-year-old son, and on social media sites MySpace and Twitter, the two talked about their relationship before her murder.
But Freese, in an email sent to The Press of Atlantic City, said Pierce was not her daughter’s fiance.
Freese reported Loyden missing late Thursday night, and she also reported Loyden’s son as missing, authorities said.
An investigation by Detectives Antonio Ramos and Ron DeMarchi of the local Police Department revealed Loyden’s son was in Pierce’s custody Friday. Authorities also said they found Loyden’s body in a bedroom in her home.
Members of Loyden’s family did not respond to requests from The Press of Atlantic City for further comment about Loyden and Pierce.
Previously, Loyden wrote on MySpace about a year ago that she was “engaged to my best friend and the love of my life. He made me a mommy and I’m loving every second of it.â€
But Pierce told his friends on Twitter on Thursday that “nothing is how we planned it to be, one big insanity plea.†Pierce posted his last tweet on Friday, writing, “Tryin’ to remain relaxed.â€
Authorities on Monday would not provide additional details regarding Loyden’s death. Webb-McRae declined comment on how Loyden, 23, was killed.
Pierce is charged with murder. The charge was upgraded from aggravated manslaughter following an autopsy performed on Loyden on Saturday. He is being held in the Cumberland County jail on $500,000 cash bail.

http://www.nj.com/cumberland/index.ssf/2012/02/vineland_woman_died_from_blunt.htmlThe Cumberland County Prosecutor said Tuesday afternoon that murder victim Britton Loyden died due to blunt trauma to her neck.
“The cause of death was blunt trauma to the victim’s neck,†said prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
She said she had been in Trenton Tuesday morning and had not been able to attend the arraignment of the man charged with Loyden’s murder, 24-year-old Ismael Pierce.
Webb-McRae declined to provide further details but said that more information could become public if Pierce files a bail motion.
“Defendants have to file bail motions by Tuesday at 12 p.m. to have them heard on Friday,†she said.
Pierce did not appear with an attorney Tuesday morning so it was unclear if he had yet filed a bail-reduction motion.
