The firefighter, identified Wednesday as 45-year-old Horace Shaw III, was speeding down U.S. Highway 67 near Belt Line Road in Cedar Hill when he crashed a Mercedes sports car into 18-year-old Alyssa Pimentel's Mazda SUV at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, police say.

Witnesses told police the Mercedes was traveling south at a high rate of speed and crashed into the rear of the SUV.

Pimentel was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Police said Pimentel was several months pregnant and her child did not survive the crash.

Pimentel's boyfriend, Isaiah Perez, 21, was a passenger in her vehicle. He suffered a broken leg and neck.

Perez said Pimentel was picking him up from work in Dallas to return to his home in Midlothian. He doesn't remember the crash, but recalls waking up on the road and seeing Pimentel on the ground and injured.

He said she was talking for a few minutes, but slipped away when the ambulance arrived. Perez and Pimentel were taken to separate hospitals. Perez said he later learned doctors delivered their son, but the baby only survived a couple of minutes.

Shaw and passenger in his Mercedes were taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

Shaw was released Wednesday on a $75,000 bond, Dallas County records show. Cedar Hill police said additional charges may be filed against Shaw after further discussion with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office.

The firefighter will be on leave pending the results of an internal investigation, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue Department Spokesman Jason Evans.

He looks like he gives zero fucks.
Strap him to the front bumper of a radio controlled full sized Ford F-150 and drive it headlong into things.
Trees
Light poles
Brick walls
Fuel tankers
Combine harvesters
An active volcano

He looks stupid as fuck with his shiny stupid head tilted to the side like a mutt. The poor guy lost his baby and his girl, and this guy is just sitting there like nothing ever happened. Hope they lock his ass up forever

This is local to me, apparently he doesn't own the Mercedes, he was driving it for the friend who owns it and who was too drunk to drive. I guess they tried to pick the least drunk person to drive everyone home.

Hey, Atrixwolfe, it's local to me, too! Nice to meet you, fellow N Texan, and welcome to DD!

DALLAS - Police documents say an off-duty firefighter was going over 100 miles per hour when his car hit and killed an 18-year-old and her unborn son.
[....]
ccording to an arrest warrant affidavit, the 45-year-old and his passenger had been drinking at a bar. First responders found a flask in the car at the time of the crash.

Shaw was driving a white Mercedes Benz that belonged to his passenger. A witness told police Shaw passed him going between 100 and 110 miles per hour on Highway 67. Shaw’s passenger also answered yes when officers asked if Shaw had been “showing off,” the document says.

Pimentel and her boyfriend, Isaiah Perez, were thrown from their SUV. She died at the hospital. Her baby was born after the crash but only lived for a few minutes. Perez said the baby was due on Christmas day.

The affidavit describes Shaw's unusual behavior after the accident. According to a witness, Shaw got out of his vehicle after the crash, went over to where Pimentel was laying, "told the witness he was a paramedic, and then laid on the ground."

Shaw’s passenger told police they had been drinking at Thibodeaux’s in Duncanville about 10 miles from the crash scene. The restaurant owner said she Shaw as a family friend and has never seen him drunk. She said she watched the video of him at her restaurant, and he did not appear drunk. She believes he went to another bar after he left.

Cedar Hill police say Shaw hasn’t spoken with detectives. He refused to speak with officers at the scene of the crash and immediately asked for an attorney.

The police department has a warrant for Shaw's blood work so they can submit it for testing to determine what his blood alcohol content was.

Shaw was released from the Dallas County jail late Wednesday night after posting bond. He is on administrative leave from the fire department pending an investigation. He has worked for Dallas Fire-Rescue for 12 years.

Cedar Hill police say more charges against Shaw are pending.

I can't express how much I hate this fucker.
