Johanny Diaz Cut Her Boyfriend's Penis Off For Mistreating Her

A woman in the Dominican Republic has been arrested for drugging her boyfriend and slicing off his penis after claiming he mistreated her.

Samuel Ventura Garcia, 44, and his 28-year-old girlfriend Johanny Diaz were staying in a cabin in the city of Puerto Plata when the attack happened, police say.

The couple had had a fierce argument, possibly about ending the relationship, officers claim.

Diaz is then said to have drugged Garcia with an unspecified substance and, while he was unconscious, decided to slice off his penis.

She fled the scene but was quickly captured by officers of the Dominican Republic National Police. It is not known how authorities were alerted to the crime.

After being arrested, Diaz stated that she did not regret what she had done and that she was the victim of mistreatment by Garcia who was forcing her to be with him.

The report provided by the director general of the National Police states that Garcia was taken to the nearby Hospital Dr Ricardo Limardo where he underwent initial treatment.

He was later transferred to a private health centre in Puerto Plata.

Doctors responsible for the re-implantation of the organ said that if unsuccessful the patient would need to be transferred to Santiago in the north of the country where there are medical centres with more advanced equipment.
