Scary thing is a guy who successfully plans out something like this and from what we know thus far, might have kept it secret from those closest to him despite it being in plans for at least several months, is anything but irrational. This was a careful, well planned, meticulous plot. This was the work of a careful, rational thinker for sure.

This opinion has merit. It annoys me when white gunmen are immediately assumed to be somehow mentally defective, when gunmen of any other colour must of necessity be motivated by their political or religious beliefs. This was carefully and painstakingly planned. And he knew it was wrong.

I'm a liberal with a gun. I've had it since I was required to have one working in a gun shop in 1976. That was a dangerous time in Vallejo, California, and there were several times it got me out of a jam, including an attempted kidnapping. Since moving to Nevada, I only take it camping by myself. That said, if you told me I had to give up my pistol I would feel somewhat threatened. I can't physically defend myself.

If I would balk, how much more difficult would it be to take them back from people who've turned gun ownership into a near religion, and are sunk in paranoia? Multiple repeats of Ruby Ridge and Waco would play out, each more violent than the last with the lunatic fringe "militias" retreating to compounds.

I'd like to see a ban on assault weapon sales, mega-clips, and bump stocks, but I can't imagine how to safely recover those already sold.

Yeah, this was super planned out:

The gunman who massacred dozens in Las Vegas researched possible attack locations in Boston and Chicago, multiple senior law enforcement officials briefed on the investigation told NBC News.

Stephen Paddock's potential targets included the most recent Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, which was held Aug. 3 to Aug. 6 in Grant Park, the officials said. Paddock, 64, went as far as booking a room in a Chicago hotel but did not show up, the officials said. Among the thousands of people who attended the festival was Malia Obama, daughter of former President Barack Obama.

He also researched hotels around Boston's Fenway Park, a senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the matter told NBC News. Most hotels in the area, however, have an obstructed view of Fenway — or no view at all.

Now, Gasper, of Wheatland, California, is suing the hotel, the concert organizers, bump stock manufacturers and retailers as well as the "Estate of Stephen Paddock" for “negligence” in failing to prevent Paddock's 11-minute terrorizing rampage.

Interestingly, Jesus Campos was never seen by the public in interviews or after being released from hospital. Where is he? Why is he apparently in hiding?

There's also a supposedly missing 6 minutes, 6 minutes between the time that Paddock fired 200 rounds at Jesus, hitting him only once, and when either the hotel management or police (I can't remember which) is called. Because now they're saying that he shot at Jesus first before he started firing at the concert, not afterwards as they were saying to start with.

ETA: I'm not saying I believe in all those conspiracy theories that are swirling around, but there is seriously something up that police are not talking about.

Note: With this report, I make no claim to specific knowledge of any wrongdoing or improprieties. Instead, this report includes trading patterns, news releases and/or public record SEC filings.

We will examine the share price movements of two gun manufacturers (American Outdoor Brands and Sturm Ruger) and the share price movement of MGM (which owns Mandalay Bay). We will also examine additional financial events surrounding MGM, including what can only be referred to as massive levels of insider selling in the shares of MGM, by the CEO/Chairman and MGM officers/directors. As you’ll see, more than $200 million in MGM shares were sold in the weeks leading up to the attack.

I gotta show you the conspiracy theory that was tweeted at me today.
Poor sod doesn't know how sound works. And no one would EVER run at a concert outdoors for now reason, right?

So, you know, if you need the warnings, warnings for violence and shooting.

The Mandalay Bay security guard shot by Stephen Paddock in the moments leading up to the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history was set to break his silence Thursday night with five television interviews, including one on Fox News, Campos' union president said.

Except when the cameras were about to roll, and media gathered in the building to talk to him, Campos reportedly bolted, and, as of early Friday morning, it wasn't immediately clear where he was.

“We were in a room and we came out and he was gone,” Campos' union president told reporters, according to ABC News’ Stephanie Wash.
[....]
Fox News' Sean Hannity tweeted out that Campos, who was scheduled to appear on "Hannity" Thursday night, “cancelled” his appearance.

Little is known about Campos, with few pictures to emerge of the security guard and no apparent online footprint surfacing to provide details about one of the central figures in the mass shooting.

SPFPA President David L. Hickey told reporters new information about the timeline of the attack -- for which Las Vegas Police and MGM Resorts have given conflicting accounts – doesn’t dispute Campos is still a hero for saving a maintenance worker and possibly stopping additional shots, Wash reported.

MGM Resorts issued a statement Thursday to “correct some of the misinformation that has been reported."

“We know that shots were being fired at the festival lot at the same time as, or within 40 seconds after, the time Jesus Campos first reported that shots were fired over the radio,” the statement said. “Metro officers were together with armed Mandalay Bay security officers in the building when Campos first reported that shots were fired over the radio. These Metro officers and armed Mandalay Bay security officers immediately responded to the 32nd floor.”

In the most recent police timeline, provided Monday, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Paddock fired about 200 bullets from his room at the resort starting at 9:59 p.m. on Oct. 1 -- the volley in which Campos was hit -- and then began opening fire on the music festival crowd six minutes later.

Police had earlier said the opposite – that Campos was struck after Paddock started firing out the window.

Bunch of kooks!

I agree, ordinarily, but there is something effed up about this, I'm hoping it's because the police have chosen not to release the information. But there are some holes in this big enough to drive a truck thru.o_O

And anyway, who doesn't love a conspiracy theory? :D

ETA: I don't believe this was a hoax, I don't believe the people are actors, I believe it happened, what I'm having trouble with is the timeline, and how the hell they think this guy even thought for a second he was going to get out of that room. There is more to this, is all I think.

Jesus christ. I'm fucking done.

I'm tired of the conspiracy theories, the armchair investigations, you think you have it solved, become a detective. Let the fucking police, whom we pay for to do this job.... DO THEIR FUCKING JOB! Personally, I would rather the news and the police didn't give us anything on these fuck heads. Then we wouldn't have the next dumb fuck in line having to up the scale to make themselves "famous"

58 people lost their lives because some asshat thought he could go out and be famous. Have some fucking respect for that.

I agree there are holes in the timeline, hopefully they're quickly filled ..

I dont understand how they botched the timeline in the first place. Even if they are rushing to provide answers to calm the public as much as possible, i still dont see how you fuck that up that badly. There's rushing and not doing due diligence and then there's outright fucking failure and ineptitude. I just cant fathom how such a mistake happened unless they seriously simply made public statements based on rumors some random, unnamed source or officer overheard or thought htey heard. It's outrageous.

As for this security guard, could be radio got hit by gunfire. Could be he was rendered unable to communicate for a short time due to the injury(pass out from pain, overcome with shock, overcome with fear). Could be he had no idea what was going on and decided finding some cover/safety before radioing in would be best OR he needed to tend to his own injury/stop bleeding before doing anything else. Or, he simply could have been scared shitless and decided fuck it all.

Many of those, especially the latter, would make it understandable as to why he doesnt want to talk.

It's also possible we STILL dont have the right/accurate information. Perhaps he did immediately call this in.

I think the most likely "conspiracy" surrounding this event would be that the casino management and/or law enforcement decided to fudge the truth a bit regarding when they were notified of the shooter and his position. If they were immediately told where this guy was and it still took 12 minutes to do anything? Shit, i know these hotels are fucking mammoth sized and take up several city blocks, but Vegas has cops everywhere you look and these hotels have highly paid security staff, seems quite damning if it took em that long to get up there.

And even outside of the length of time, we have body cam footage from officers on the ground who clearly dont know exactly where the shooting is coming from. THeyre talking amongst themselves and some have no clue, others are saying they believe its the hotel(although this is clearly based on on the scene observations, no radio contact). It would be equally damning and would make the dept look incredibly shitty if they had this info yet failed to disperse it effectively.

A law enforcement agency lying to save face/prevent lawsuits or a casino lying to do the same given their own possible lack of care for public safety sound FAR more reasonable and likely than this security guard being buddies with Shitstain paddock.

Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo, admits he's still looking for answers.

David Hickey of the Security, Police, and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA) told reporters Friday that he got a text the night before saying Jesus Campos was taken to a UMC Quick Care facility, though he did not specify where or whom the text came from.

A spokesperson at the UMC Quick Care, which has eight locations throughout the Las Vegas area, told Fox News on Monday that they had "heard nothing" about Campos visiting them.

Multiple requests from Fox News for SPFPA to comment on the matter were not returned Monday.

Hickey said he was meeting with MGM officials Thursday afternoon in the hours before Campos’ scheduled television appearances, including one with Fox News.

"For the past four days he's been preparing ... we had a meeting with MGM officials, and after that meeting was over, we talked about the interviews, we went to a private area, and when we came out, Mr. Campos was gone," Hickey told reporters, according to Fox 5 Las Vegas.

Hickey said Campos had requested to go public and wanted to tell his story and move on from the Oct. 1 shooting investigation. Police say he was shot just before the crazed gunman killed 58 at music festival on the Las Vegas Strip – though the sequence of events is still in dispute.

Campos was last photographed in public on Oct. 10, accepting an “SPFPA Hero Award” for bravery in the line of duty, while dining with Hickey and others at a high-end Vegas steakhouse. But soon afterward, investigators said that the security guard was shot before the massacre, raising questions about whether the hotel did enough to prevent the bloodshed.

Hickey has said that before he vanished, Campus was looking forward to telling his side of the story.

"Right now I'm just concerned where my member is, and what his condition is. It's highly unusual,” Hickey said Friday. “I'm hoping everything is OK with him and I'm sure MGM or the union will let (media) know when we hear something," he said.

On Wednesday, Ellen DeGeneres’ television talk show is expected to broadcast the much-anticipated first interview with the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino security guard, who was the first shooting victim in the Oct. 1 massacre in Las Vegas.

DeGeneres tweeted a photo of Campos holding a cane on the set Tuesday alongside maintenance engineer Stephen Schuck, who was also shot at by the gunman on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel.
DMYk7wfUMAAzlVm.jpg

The news ended five days of speculation over the whereabouts of the security guard, who was shot as he passed outside gunman Stephen Paddock’s hotel room and who holds important information on who knew what and when as the shooting rampage got underway.

Reporters had been looking for Campos to help explain what happened in the moments before Paddock began firing at the crowd assembled for a country music festival opposite the hotel — and how long it took for police to respond.

Shifting timelines given by police and near-total silence from Mandalay Bay’s owners have left Campos as one of the only potential sources of first-hand information on how the shooting rampage unfolded and how the hotel responded.

In a recording of his appearance on “Ellen” obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Campos, who said he was “doing better each day, slowly but surely,” confirmed he had called in when he was shot — before the full rampage began. But he gave few other details that would answer nagging questions about the response of hotel security and Las Vegas police.
[....]

So, did the police/FBI really interview these men, especially if Campos is "one of the only potential sources of first-hand information on how the shooting rampage unfolded and how the hotel responded"?

So is that why he disappeared, big money from Ellen to scoop the first public interview?o_O

This, "Gasper's lawsuit alleges MGM Resorts International and its subsidiary Mandalay Corp., which own the hotel, failed to properly monitor Paddock's activities..."

Seriously, are they supposed to have the maids search your room for weapons on a daily basis, or in room cameras monitored by a guard?

I more than understand the desire to be made whole, in spite of the fact that the emotional and psychological affects cannot be so easily healed, but this suit is a bucket of mud thrown against the wall to see what sticks.

Story from guard is police were notified soon after he was shot. Ive read articles reporting cops had a presence in the hotel at the time. When will we get an answer as to why it took them 12 minutes to reach the room?

So is that why he disappeared, big money from Ellen to scoop the first public interview?o_O

Ellen claims he didnt take any money. They offered, he refused.

So is that why he disappeared, big money from Ellen to scoop the first public interview?o_O
Of course it is!
Why go on the news for free when Ellen will pay big bucks ???

Makes him seem that much more UNcredible, in my opinion ..

Now the media are just taunting us with their tall tales about Stephen Paddock, the alleged Las Vegas shooter. Reputedly serious news organizations are claiming that he made a living playing video poker. That's like claiming someone made a living smoking crack.

The media are either doing PR for the gambling industry or they don't want anyone considering the possibility that Paddock was using gambling to launder money.
[....]
How do reporters imagine casino owners make a living? Any ideas on how all those glorious lobbies, lights, pools and fountains are paid for? How do they think Sheldon Adelson and Steve Wynn became billionaires if gambling is a winning proposition for people like Paddock -- and therefore, by definition, a losing proposition for the casinos?

The media think about money the way Democrats do. They have absolutely no conception of where it originates. Those casino owners sure are generous! reporters think to themselves. Economist Thomas Sowell is always ridiculing journalists for not understanding basic economics. It turns out, they don't understand the spreadsheet of a lemonade stand.

The New York Times explained that the "top" video poker machines pay out 99.17 percent. That's great that Paddock was only losing cents on the dollar (if true), but it's still losing. The Times quickly explained that he could have more than made up his losses with all the "comps" -- the free rooms, meals and "50-year-old port that costs $500 a glass," as his brother Eric said.

Gamblers who are beating the house are not given $500 glasses of port. Refer to the profit/loss spreadsheet. And yet, according to his brother, Paddock was treated like royalty by the casinos. Which means he was losing.
[....]
Paddock's game of choice was VIDEO POKER. That's a computer! It's programmed to ensure the house wins. Not all the time, but at least often enough to make casino owners multibillionaires. Anyone who plays video poker over an extended period of time will absolutely, 100 percent, by basic logic, end up a net loser.

So why are the media insistent that Paddock was getting rich by playing video poker?

I don't know what happened -- and, apparently, neither do the cops -- but it's kind of odd that we keep being told things that aren't true about the Las Vegas massacre, from the basic timeline to this weird insistence that Paddock made a good living at gambling.

The most likely explanation is that the reporters and investigators are incompetent nitwits. But the changing facts from law enforcement and preposterous lies from the press aren't doing a lot to tamp down alternative theories of the crime.
[....]
If Paddock wasn't making money on video poker -- and he wasn't -- why would he be cycling millions of dollars through a casino, turning every dollar into, at best, 99 cents?

Maybe Paddock enjoyed video poker. But if the allegedly serious media are going to keep telling us he was making a living doing it, they're just begging us to say that losing a percent or two on millions of dollars doesn't make sense as an investment strategy, but it does make sense as a money laundering operation.

And the probable illicit business requiring money to be laundered that leaps out at us in Paddock's case is illegal gun sales. If true, it would not only explain the arsenal in his hotel room, but also raises the possibility of either an accomplice or different perpetrator altogether.

If this were a movie script, a terrorist would go to Paddock's room on the pretense of buying guns, kill Paddock, commit the massacre, put his gunshot residue-covered gloves on Paddock's dead hands and slip out of the room when the coast was clear.

According to the all-new timeline given by the Las Vegas police -- pending a third revision -- this is at least possible.
[....]
There's no evidence for any of this, but on the other hand, there's no evidence for the version the media are giving us. At least the movie script version doesn't require us to pretend that Paddock was making "millions" from video poker.

It's not 'either' he made his money gambling 'or' he made it in illegal gun sales leading to:

If this were a movie script, a terrorist would go to Paddock's room on the pretense of buying guns, kill Paddock, commit the massacre, put his gunshot residue-covered gloves on Paddock's dead hands and slip out of the room when the coast was clear.
According to the all-new timeline given by the Las Vegas police -- pending a third revision -- this is at least possible.
[....]
Fucking lol at that nonsensical bullshit!

How about this theory: He made his money in real estate (he did), was pissing it away gambling, was suffering some sort of mental problems, bought a bunch of guns and decided to kill a bunch of innocent people because he's a crazy piece of shit!
