PALM BAY, Florida - A Palm Bay teacher's aide has been arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious battery on a victim 12-16 years of age and distributing obscene material to a minor.

According to Palm Bay police, 35-year-old Alana L. Chasky had a relationship with a student from Riverdale Country Day School, a separate Day School that has a contract with Brevard Public Schools but is owned and operated by Behavioral Education Services under the umbrella of Universal Health Services.

According to investigators, the student's mother became concerned that Chasky and her son were having an inappropriate relationship after she caught Chasky dropping her son off after school and learned that Chasky was also seen by other witnesses picking up the boy from his bus stop.

Palm Bay police initially investigated the mother's concerns in July 2017, but did not have enough evidence to corroborate a sexual relationship.

In September, the mother told police that she finally had evidence of the relationship and presented text messages between Chasky and her son that referred to sex between the two.

Police were also given video of the two in Chasky's bed and another still photo of the two together in their underwear.

The student told investigators that the sexual relationship lasted from February 2017 through September 2017.

Chasky was booked into the Brevard County Jail under a $65,000 bond.

A former teacher’s aide in Florida has been arrested and charged with having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old special needs student, it was reported on Tuesday.

Police say that the mother of a 14-year-old boy with behavioral problems noticed explicit text messages and images from Chasky on her son’s cell phone.

The mother knew Chasky because she was assigned to help her son with his emotional needs, according to News 6.

Police say that the mother warned Chasky to stay away from her son back in May because she suspected that their relationship was inappropriate.

But Chasky is alleged to have ignored the mother’s warnings and continued to pick up and drop off the boy between home and school.

‘She was a student's aide and she met this particular victim on the bus,’ Palm Bay Police Lt. Mike Bandish told Fox 35 TV.

‘She rode the bus back and forth... and that's where they met.’

Authorities say the mother initially gave the woman permission to have her son visit her because she was ‘assisting with his behavioral problems.’

In July, police said they spoke to the boy, who had violated his home detention by walking to Chasky’s home.

When confronted by authorities, Chasky denied any wrongdoing. The lack of evidence forced police refrain from pressing charges, though they warned Chasky not to make contact with the boy.

On September 10, the boy was arrested for allegedly taking part in a burglary of Chasky’s house. Chasky was out of town at the time of the alleged burglary.

When police investigated, the mother showed authorities the explicit text messages.

Police said the text messages were from a phone number that matched Chasky’s.

Earlier this month, the boy admitted to police that he and Chasky had sex multiple times at her home.
