Revere Police said Vanessa MacCormack, 30, was found unresponsive in her Grand View Avenue home around 3:30 p.m.

They said there were signs of trauma to MacCormack’s body, but did not say how she died.

“While the facts and circumstances do not immediately suggest a random incident, authorities said the investigation is still in its early stages,” Massachusetts State Police said in a statement.

Vanessa’s husband Andrew went to the house Sunday to pick up a baby chair and some other items. He left without saying anything, but stopped to break down and cry at the scene.
One of MacCormack’s friends told WBZ-TV’s Cheryl Fiandaca that they’re shocked about the second grade teacher from Lynn’s death.

“I can’t believe I have to use past tense. She was a beautiful, young, vibrant dedicated mother, wife, daughter, sister, co-worker and teacher. We are all just devastated,” the friend said.

MacCormack’s sister Angela Masucci says that Vanessa was an amazing sister and mother.

“Words could never describe my sister. My sister was the world’s best mother, she did everything for her daughter and had so many plans for her. She never missed an opportunity to bring her places to show off her beautiful baby,” Masucci said.

Masucci also says that Vanessa was a dedicated family person.

“She is the true definition of a family oriented person. She always held get togethers at her beautiful home , that she designed to be like a home on HGTV, and always strived to get the family together. Aside from being close to me, she also adored my brother Joe and his wife and son,” Masucci said. “She talked to them everyday and was ecstatic that her daughter had a cousin close in age to grow with. My sister had the closest relationship with my parents. Them and myself went to her house every single day because she always wanted us there; she just loved family.”

???
Confusing. They were estranged?

It could be that the family is not allowed in the house just yet without a police escort. Still hunting for clues and such. And besides I don't think I'd want to be in there anyway. Not after that.

I like him better that he took the baby away than if he'd been pissed they wouldn't let him come right in and stay right after. But he could still be posing.

No arrests have been made and police haven’t released any suspect information.

"[I’m] disappointed they haven't given us something to feel at ease a little bit, you know, cause a lot of kids live around here and everybody is just really concerned,” a neighbor named Sarah told Boston 25 News.

Grief counselors were on hand Monday at Connery Elementary School, where MacCormack was a beloved second grade teacher.

MacCormack’s devastated family hasn’t spoken publicly as they deal with the tragic loss and answers as to what happened remain hard to find.

"The evidence suggests that her murder was a crime of domestic violence, committed in the very place where she should have been safest – her own home," Conley said.

Revere police responded to the home at 93 Grand View Ave. at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday after Andrew MacCormack called 911. They found Vanessa MacCormack, 30, inside with "obvious signs of physical trauma."

She suffered blunt force injury to the head, sharp force injuries to the neck and asphyxiation, the DA's office said.

"Evidence suggested that the killer made concerted efforts to clean up the crime scene and dispose of related items," Conley's office said.

A random murderer does NOT clean up a crime scene inside a house they have no connection to, waste of time. So by that they most likely starting looking at him immediately.

Disturbing details emerge in slaying of elementary teacher as husband is arraigned

CHELSEA, Mass. -- The husband of a Massachusetts elementary school teacher has pleaded not guilty to killing her in their home.

Sobbing family members reportedly filled the courtroom as Andrew MacCormack was arraigned Wednesday in Chelsea District Court on a murder charge. He was ordered held without bail and cried in court during the hearing.

Prosecutors allege MacCormack, 29, killed 30-year-old Vanessa MacCormack in their Revere home on Saturday. They say he then withdrew $100 out of an ATM, bought cocaine with the couple's baby in the car, and returned home, where he allegedly tried to clean up the scene before calling 911.

The medical examiner's office has found that Vanessa MacCormack suffered blunt force injury to the head, sharp force injuries to the neck and asphyxiation. Prosecutors say she was found strangled with a trash bag over her head.

Police found the bathroom had been cleaned with bleach, reports CBS Boston.

Prosecutors allege the couple's marriage was falling apart because of Andrew MacCormack's expensive drug problem, and Vanessa MacCormack had recently been talking about divorce, the station reports.

Before the slaying, Andrew MacCormack had allegedly fueled his drug habit by taking money from their bank accounts and blaming hackers or selling jewelry while claiming it was stolen from their house, the station reports.

Prosecutors say text messages show that the couple had recently argued about finances.

"The texts back and forth show that very recently Vanessa was enraged at the defendant for botching their finances, for being irresponsible, according to her," a prosecutor said.

Andrew MacCormack's attorney says someone else killed the victim and police were too quick to blame the husband.

"His DNA and his fingerprints are going to be all over the house. So why would he be bleaching the house? I think it's a lot more likely that an assailant from outside the home bleached the house," the attorney said.

Vanessa MacCormack taught second grade in Lynn, Massachusetts. The couple has a 1-year-old daughter.

What a stupid statement, I guess that DA doesn't handle many murder case interviews with the press. Domestic violence that happens at home? Who would have thought?

So why would he be bleaching the house?
Because he's an idiot enough to think it will work, like him trying to convince his wife hackers took money out of their bank account or that thieves stole her jewelry but left everything else alone, that type of idiocy.

The court documents obtained by Boston 25 trace text messages between the two, which paint a picture of a marriage falling apart.

“I hate you so much, you’ve ruined [daughter’s] life because she won’t have her parents together,” Vanessa allegedly said in a text to Andrew Aug. 31. “I’ll talk to [agent] tomorrow about listing the house and I’ll look into divorce lawyers.”

“Ur crazy I’m not signing anything to sell the house or get divorced,” Andrew replied.

Prosecutors said Vanessa was set to start a part-time job this week. One the day of her killing, she had plans to work out and go apple picking. In the Lynn Daily Item, her father said, “She never let on. Her smile never changed. She was so loving, and she made everyone around her laugh.”

Masucci said the family was stunned by the horrific details released in court Wednesday, but doesn’t harbor any hatred for the suspect’s family. Masucci told the paper, “We love Andrew’s mother. When we got to court, we hugged them and talked to them. They didn’t do anything wrong. Vanessa adored her. This has ruined two families. Our family will never be the same. Neither will theirs.”

The husband of a Massachusetts elementary school teacher found strangled and stabbed in the face and neck with a trash bag over her head has pleaded not guilty to murder.

Andrew MacCormack was ordered held without bail at his arraignment Tuesday in Suffolk Superior Court.

The husband of a Massachusetts teacher who was found strangled and stabbed in the couple’s home two years ago was convicted Monday of killing her.

Andrew MacCormack, 31, was found guilty of first-degree murder in the September 2017 death of Vanessa MacCormack, 30, by a Suffolk Superior Court jury after it deadlocked last week, the Boston Globe reported.

Prosecutors said Vanessa — a second-grade teacher at Connery Elementary School in Lynn — was stabbed and slashed in her face and neck after confronting her husband about his drug use and threatening to file for divorce.

After the slaying, Andrew left the couple’s home with their daughter to buy cocaine. Responding cops later found the woman’s body in their Revere home, which had been scrubbed with bleach, prosecutors said.

Andrew, who pleaded not guilty to the killing, faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. He’s set to return to court for sentencing Dec. 2, the Globe reported.

Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins asked that news outlets identify Vanessa by using her maiden name, Vanessa Masucci, according to the newspaper.
