Officers attended a Bulimba unit on 2 July where they found a 21-year-old with life-threatening burns and other injuries that extended the length of her body. Her condition, appearance and smell led them to think she was dead until she moaned.

The woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where she remains in an induced coma. Police will allege she suffered extensive burns, a broken nose, eye socket and ribs, chemical burns to her throat and a hole to the side of her head.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rod Watts described the injuries as “horrific” and said they were probably inflicted over several weeks.

Nicholas John Crilley, 31, was charged on Monday with torture, intent to disfigure, intent to cause grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and unlawfully supplying a dangerous drug, after a dramatic police pursuit.

Former professional soccer player Jeromy Lee Harris, 41, was also charged on Thursday, for allegedly assisting Crilley after the attack.

Brisbane magistrate John Costello refused Harris bail on Friday, saying there was no evidence he had “acted with any kind of humanity” upon learning of the woman’s injuries.

Police prosecutor Matt Kahler said the 21-year-old was found by police in Harris’s home and he allegedly provided Crilley with alprazolam, sold as Xanax.

The court heard CCTV showed Crilley carrying a “small, human-sized object” from a hotel to a vehicle on 29 June.

Kahler alleged the woman was wrapped in a sheet, “thrown in the boot of the car” and taken to Harris’s home.

Defence solicitor Remy Kurz said his client was not charged with inflicting any of the woman’s injuries and was simply an “accessory after the fact”. Kurz said Harris did not see the alleged victim and only knew about her injuries in a “general sense”.

But Kahler said text messages found on Harris’s phone showed he knew the victim was at his home and “very extensively injured”.

“He knew she’d been burnt,” he said. “He knew that she smelled like death.”

Reaad he called paramedicsa nd then led police on a chase

He'll get 5 or 6 years in prison for mutilating someone this severely.

Unfortunately, Jack might be right on this one. The bar is pretty high in Australia for serious confinement. I'll be surprised if he gets 5 years. Then a full ride on government assistance (dole) for him afterwards.

Doesnt Austrlaia let a ex-con change their name or at least protect them as much as possible from having knowledge of their past be made public? Pretty sure ive read absurd stories like that from that shit hole country.

A WOMAN allegedly tortured and wrapped in a blanket is still in hospital, and is expected to stay there for at least two more months.

No more details than this. Poor woman may be better off dead. Sounds devastating.

Jeromy Lee Harris will face a Brisbane court in October over allegations he helped a friend torture a young woman in Brisbane.

Police allege Mr Harris' co-accused Nicholas John Crilley poured methylated spirits on 21-year-old Tanya Nicole Roberts before setting her alight.

It is also alleged a screwdriver was used to stab her in the head.

Ms Roberts suffered a range of injuries including heat and chemical burns, a broken nose, eye socket and ribs during the alleged incidents police say occurred at a home in Bulimba and a hotel Spring Hill in June and July.

She was placed in an induced coma for almost two weeks and continues to recover from her injuries.

Harris, a 41-year-old former professional soccer player, was sharing a home with Mr Crilley and Ms Roberts at the time of the alleged crimes.

He did not appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday when the case against him and Mr Crilley was mentioned briefly.

Mr Harris is charged with unlawfully applying a destructive substance, intentionally causing grievous bodily harm, torture, unlawful deprivation of liberty, unlawful supply of the drug Xanax to Mr Crilley.

Mr Crilley, 31, is charged with torture, intent to disfigure, intent to cause grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and unlawfully supplying a dangerous drug.

Mr Harris remains on bail and he and his co-accused will return to Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 30.

The court heard there was a delay in the collection of forensic and medical evidence and the men's legal teams needed extra time to review the Crown's material.

A Brisbane man burned a woman's genitals, forced her to eat her own vomit and raped her daily for three weeks - leaving the victim on the brink of death and with her face infested with maggots.

Nicholas John Crilley, 34, subjected the 21-year-old woman to 'physical, psychological and sadistic violence' over 23 days in June 2017 at his townhouse in Bulimba, Brisbane.

Shocking details of the sickening torture can be revealed after the former Commonwealth Bank worker pleaded guilty to 54 offenses, including grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and torture.

His assaults left the woman so severely injured paramedics initially thought she was dead, the Brisbane District Court heard on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Sandra Cupina told the court Crilley raped the woman daily, set her on fire and poured burning water on her genitals.

He used a cigarette lighter, acetone and boiling water to burn her body.

The victim was also forced to eat her own vomit and faeces, and made to sleep on the floor or outside.

Crilley also made the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, choose how she wanted to die - being shot or in a car crash.

'I've pummelled her so hard… she cant talk anymore,' Crilley bragged to a friend.

The 34-year-old then 'hid' her for five days at the nearby Tower Mill Metro Hotel.

The beatings became so severe the woman's upper lip detached from her face.

'He increased and escalated the methods he was using to harm her, boiling water then acetone then setting her on fire,' Ms Cupina said.

She suffered multiple broken bones, deep lacerations to her face, including the 'degloving of the skin', and burns to 46 per cent of her body.

'The tissue on part of her face was so severely infected it was also infested with maggots,' Ms Cupina said.

If she had not been treated in hospital she would have died.'

Crilley eventually called triple-zero before fleeing the Brisbane home where most of the offending occurred.

She was found barely alive in his house on July 2, 2017, so badly injured police who found her thought she had been involved in an explosion.

Police thought she was dead until she groaned.

He was taken into custody eight days later following a dramatic police chase involving several stolen cars.

The woman was placed in an induced coma and spent eight weeks in Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital recovering, which included learning to walk again.

The bridge of her nose had to be removed because it was shattered into pieces, and her vision has been reduced due to burning liquids being poured in her eyes.

Defence lawyer Malcolm Harrison said Crilley was in a methylamphetamine-induced delusional state during the prolonged assault.

He said Crilley believed the woman had been part of a drive-by shooting that targeted him, but it was not based on reality.

'This is a dreadful and extremely serious example of violence against a woman,' he said.

'The offences were sadistic in nature.'

However, Mr Harrison reminded the court Crilley had called triple-zero.

'That is probably the one factor in his favour,' he said.

Crilley will be sentenced on May 1. The Crown has asked that he be jailed for life.

Jailed for life is what...15 years?

Thought you gotta be like a mass shooter like that one albino fuck to get caged for life in that bitch country.

How is being high on meth and calling authorities yourself after brutalizing and trying to kill someone a defense to a crime? The fuck is this defense attorney talkin about? What scum.

A Queensland man who took pleasure as he systematically raped and burned a woman during three weeks of drug-induced violence has been handed seven life sentences.

Nicholas John Crilley’s vicious attacks left the woman so severely injured, paramedics initially thought she was dead when they found her.

A murmur told them she was alive, the Brisbane district court was told.

The woman, who was 22 at the time, suffered multiple broken bones, internal injuries and deep lacerations during Crilley’s 23-day assault in June 2017.

She also suffered burns to 46% of her body.

Crilley’s cruelty included almost-daily physical and sexual assault.

The woman’s wounds were severely infected by the time Crilley called triple zero.

“Your anonymous call undoubtedly led to the [woman’s] life being saved,” Judge Anthony Rafter said during sentencing on Friday.

“However, that is not necessarily an indication of remorse. Your treatment of the [woman] was callous and cruel.”

Doctors placed the woman in an induced coma and she spent eight weeks in hospital recovering, which included learning to speak, eat and walk again.

She continues to suffer psychologically with post-traumatic stress syndrome and flashbacks.

Her face and head remain disfigured, and she has scarring on a large portion of her body.

He was convicted of 62 offences, including supplying a dangerous drug, 18 counts of rape, sexual assault, grievous bodily harm, serious assault, deprivation of liberty and torture.

Rafter sHe handed Crilley five life sentences of 15 years and terms of up to 25 years’ imprisonment for the rape offences.

He received a further two life sentences of 15 years for two counts of malicious act with intent.

All sentences imposed will be served concurrently.

Judge Rafter also made a serious violent offence declaration, meaning Crilley will have to serve at least 80% before he is eligible for parole.

A former professional soccer player who "harboured" a grievously injured woman and the man who tortured her in a Brisbane unit has been sentenced to three years' jail.

Jeromy Lee Harris, 45, pleaded guilty in the District Court in Brisbane to being an accessory after the fact to grievous bodily harm and supplying dangerous drugs.

Harris was not accused of inflicting injury on the woman but was sentenced for helping Crilley escape detection by authorities.

The court heard Harris ensured Crilley and the woman were not at home during a scheduled real estate inspection, and let them return to the unit afterwards for several days.

"With the provision of safe accommodation, Crilley managed to hide [the victim]," Judge Leanne Clare said during sentencing on Thursday.

"In that way, the prisoner's [Harris'] actions not only helped Crilley avoid police but enabled him to keep [the victim] from the expert medical care that she needed until such time as Crilley summonsed the paramedics."

I don’t say this lightly, but this is one of the worst stories I’ve read on here. And yet “all sentences will be served concurrently” perhaps made me the most sick. I hope this woman can find peace, lord knows the judicial system only giving her 15 years max with him behind bars won’t help.
