A woman from Pennsylvania has been arrested after police say she allowed her boyfriend, who is a registered sex offender, to rape a young girl in her care for more than a year.
Marion Keithline, 50, of Overfield Township, has been charged with felony reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child and three counts of corruption of minors.
Investigators with the State Police say Keithline did nothing to stop her live-in boyfriend, 47-year-old Eric Popejoy, from abusing a 7-year-old girl between June 2015 and July 2016.
Popepjoy was convicted in Florida in 1992 of lewd and lascivious behavior involving a person under 16 and ordered to register as a sex offender.
According to a criminal complaint cited by The Times Tribune, Keithline met Popejoy in 2015 on the dating site DateHookup and later moved in with him in Florida.
Popejoy eventually relocated to Pennsylvania to live with Keithline in her mobile home on Maple Lane in Overfield Township.
In mid-February, State Police arrested Popejoy on felony counts of rape, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, corruption of minors, criminal use of a communication facility, child pornography and failure to register with state police as a sex offender.
Court records state that the young girl in Keithline's care complained to the woman and other people that Popejoy had raped her, but no one went to the police.
