A man has been killed by a crocodile at a river crossing in Australia's Northern Territory.

The man, 47, was wading across Cahill's Crossing near Kakadu National Park when he was taken by the 3.3m (11ft) reptile, police said.

Two women made it across the river before realising the man was missing.

The last fatal crocodile attack at the crossing, on the East Alligator River, was in 1987. In that incident, a 40-year-old man died after slipping into the river while fishing with his son.

Ay yi yi. Worst nightmare, to be pulled underwater by a crocodile's death roll. Just remember, you don't have to swim faster than the croc, just faster than the person next to you.

From Abroad's link:
"There is a fair bit of water flowing across at the moment due to the rains and it's a notorious area for crocs there,"

"There are signs up saying don't go in the water but people do. And unfortunately he's paid for that with his life."

Hold up, it's called EAST ALLIGATOR RIVER? And they chose to swim across it? WHY WHY???!!! Dumbasses.

The two women made it across before they noticed he was missing? He didn't even have a chance to scream bloody murder? He must have been taken under quickly. *Shudder*

We went to Walt Disney World recently, and the signs up all over the place warning of alligators were kind of terrifying after the incident last year. Crocodilians are the stuff of nightmares. This guy didn't stand a chance.
