An Alabama man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the role he played in repeatedly beating and torturing the 4-year-old son of his girlfriend, according to court records.
Scott Thomas Hicks, 39, appeared in court Friday in front of Circuit Judge James Fensom for the sentencing. Hicks and the child's mother, 28-year-old Hallee Anne McLeod, were arrested in September 2015 after officers found the 4-year-old beaten, bloodied and unresponsive in the back seat of Hicks' truck parked in front of the Bay County Courthouse. Authorities later labeled the case "child torture" after discovering the extent to which the child had been repeatedly abused through beating and genital torture.

The man went to a court appearance on DV charges where the boy's
mother abuser was the victim. He TOLD cops he was in a hurry because he'd left a child in the car. Naturally, deputies went looking for the child and found a severely injured 4 year old unresponsive under a blanket. The mother and boyfriend liked to throw the little boy to the ground and kick him between the legs. Little boy will probably need surgery to fix the genital injuries.
