A man punched his wife for breastfeeding in front of a male doctor, police say

Police in New Mexico are looking for a man who, they say, punched his wife after she started breastfeeding their newborn in front of a male doctor.

Rafael Orozco became angry when his wife, who had given birth earlier that day, started breastfeeding their baby girl, exposing herself to a doctor who had walked in to check on her and the infant, according to a police report.

Orozco, 22, punched his wife in the mouth as she was carrying the baby in her arms, the report said. He also slapped the infant on the head before hospital staff confronted him.

While I agree that in some countries, public breastfeeding may not be the norm, punching your wife and hitting a newborn is not ok in ANY country!!! I hope they arrested him as I couldn't read the story either as I'm not signing up. But for Christ's sake, hitting a newborn??!! Yeah it was totally her fault for being hungry. Damn. I hope she stays far away from him but she probably won't.

On the contrary, in the outskirts of Mexico, and other countries in Central and South America, breastfeeding is quite common, and is the only way to feed your baby because there is no money for formula. They do it on buses, in malls, on the street, etc.

The issue was that she showed her tits to another male, not so much simply breastfeeding. Hitting women or even children in a rage over such matters is perfectly normal and okay in most shitty countries, Mexico is no exception.
