A Casper woman is accused of breaking her baby’s arm. Twenty year old Kelsey Steed has pleaded not guilty to one charge of aggravated child abuse.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say in August 2014, Steed took her then eight month old daughter to the hospital, because the baby could not move her right arm.

Hospital employees suspected the injuries were caused by abuse and contacted law enforcement.

A doctor told police that there were four different fractures and each one happened at different times, because they were in different stages of healing.

The doctor added that a great deal of force was needed to break the bones.

When interviewed, Steed admitted that got frustrated with the baby on the morning of the hospital visit, saying she was stressed out and frustrated that the baby woke her up at 2 AM.

She also said she had been rough with the child, but added she did not intentionally hurt the baby.

Investigators also learned that the baby had been at the hospital two months prior for a torn esophagus, and was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Denver, but the cause of that injury had not been determined.

Four different fractures, each at different times and she's up on one charge?! A torn esophagus?
Ugh, please tell me this baby is far, far away from this thing. God forbid the baby woke you up at 2am! How dare she!

Trying to wrap my head around a torn esophagus. I have no idea how that could happen. But give me a few hours alone with this Bitch and I can try to replicate it.

Found this...

Causes of Esophageal Perforation

The esophagus may also become perforated as the result of:
  • A tumor
  • Gastric reflux with ulceration
  • Previous surgery on the esophagus
  • Swallowing a foreign object or caustic chemicals, such as household cleaners, disk batteries, and battery acid
  • Trauma or injury to the chest and esophagus
  • Violent vomiting
Less common causes include injuries to the esophagus area (blunt trauma).

I have an 11 month old and she still loves to wake me up in the middle of the night, and I still love to comfort her and rub her little head. Send this scallywag my way and I'll rip more then her esophagus apart.

Another selfish subhuman realizing that a child does NOT come with an on/off switch. Amazing how many of these young mothers spend 9 months thinking selfishly with rose colored glasses, then find out its a LABOR of love, and it isn't all about them....sad.

When you take your child into the emergency care they ask you if you're the mother, how can these soulless bitches dare say yes?? You aren't a mother, you cumdumpster pile of shit!!

If you need sleep so bad, then get on birth control and don't breed! Babies wake up. It's not easy taking care of them, but that's your job as a parent.

Probation?! My head hurts now.

A Casper woman will avoid prison time in a case where she was accused of breaking her baby’s arm.

Kelsey Steed was given a three-to-five year suspended prison sentence, with five years of probation, after she entered an Alford Plea to one charge of child abuse.

When interviewed, Steed admitted that she got frustrated with the baby on the morning of the hospital visit, saying she was stressed out and frustrated that the baby woke her up at 2 AM.

She also said she had been rough with the child, but added she did not intentionally hurt the baby.

Investigators also learned that the baby had been at the hospital two months prior for a torn esophagus, and was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Denver, but the cause of that injury had not been determined.

An Alford plea is not an admission of guilt, but acknowledges that prosecutors have enough evidence and/or testimony to get a guilty verdict from a jury, if the case had gone to trial.
