Jennifer Wigren is on probation, but out of jail a month after being sentenced for trying to exchange graphic images of herself for methamphetamine.
Wigren was sentenced Dec. 19, 2016, in Oceana County's 27th District Court to using a computer to commit a crime. Her sentence was for 11 months, with just 90 days of her time to be served in jail, and with credit for 77 days already served.
"I believe she's finished her time there,' Oceana County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph J. Bizon said on Thursday, Jan. 20. The remainder of her sentence will be spent on probation. He said it was a lawful sentence that fit the crime.
Wigren was initially charged with second-degree criminal sexual activity because her child appeared inside the frame of one or more of the images, but Bizon said the "title" was adjusted during a negotiated agreement. "She never did anything sexual with the child," he said.
The child was removed from Wigren's home at the time of the crime. The child's father was later granted custody, Bizon said. Wigren
pleaded guilty to using a computer to commit a crime.
