HUFFMAN, TEXAS - Detectives said a Huffman woman admitted to killing her father and then stayed inside the house with his body for two days before alerting anyone.
Court documents detail how 45-year-old Janice Byrnes ran to a neighbor Tuesday night and told them she had got into an argument with her elderly father, John Byrnes.
She told police that she blacked out and does remember pushing him. The autopsy revealed lacerations and a fracture on the back of his skull.
The incident was not the first time she had been arrested for hurting her father. She was arrested last year, after shoving him. Instead of serving prison time, a judge ordered her to consistently see a community supervision officer as part of a plea deal. When she completed the task and a judge signed off on it, it’s possible that’s how she ended up living with him once more.
Neighbors told KHOU 11 that they’ve seen officers at the home several times and that the two would argue often.

Byrnes will face a judge Thursday.
