As the Edgerton community gathered on Sunday evening to pray and mourn the deaths of three adults and an infant in a Platte County fire, police announced that 24-year-old Grayden Lane Denham, the “person of interest” in the case, was found outside Missouri. The fire is being investigated as a potential homicide.

Authorities said Denham was found unharmed with the brown 2012 Nissan Versa sedan they were seeking.

Family members are standing behind a person of interest in a homicide case that left four family member's dead. Detectives had been searching for 24-year-old Grayden Denham, and Sunday night announced he had been located.

"This is a parent's worst nightmare. I wouldn't wish this on anybody. My life's been changed forever," Shelly Denham, Grayden's mother, said.

In one night, Shelly lost her daughter Heather, her infant grandson Mason, as well as her former in-laws Russ and Shirley. They were found dead in their home near Edgerton, Mo. in a fire that is being investigated as a homicide.

Grayden was named a person of interest in the case Sunday morning, andwas located by authorities in Arizona. According to authorities in Yavapai County, Arizona, Denham was found at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday walking in town completely naked. Police say he gave them his wrong birth date and they could not find a record of him. Due to concern for his medical condition, he was taken by ambulance to Flagstaff Medical Center.

About two-and-a-half hours later, a motel manager in Arizona became suspicious of a vehicle parked on the property and called police. The car was unlocked with the key in the ignition and clothing laying on the ground next to the car. A wallet in the pants contained a Missouri ID card and showed the name Grayden Denham.

"This family loves him no matter what. We're glad that he's been found alive," Grayden's uncle Kevin Shelton said.

Jesus Christ why didn't they shoot him and claim that they mistook him for a wookie?
Imagine coming upon that thing naked in the dark it's enough to give me nightmares and I didn't even witness it.
I'm guessing he's crazy. Off his meds or someone ate his poptarts so they all had to go. Either way he should have left the baby out of it. We damn sure don't need him around.

Dude has a kid yo. What misguided individual thought procreation with this hot mess was a good idea?
Grayden Denham, 24, was charged with murdering four relatives, including his three-month-old nephew, after shooting them in the head and setting their bodies on fire in February

A 24-year-old Missouri man was charged with murdering four relatives, including his three-month-old nephew, after shooting them in the head and setting their bodies on fire in February.

Grayden Denham was charged Monday with four counts of first-degree murder of his family members, whose bodies were found outside a home he shared with them.

Each of the bodies were burning when firefighters arrived, Platte County Sheriff Mark Owen said at a press conference on Monday. A dog was also killed and burned.

'Upon further examination of the scene, the following details were revealed: Every victim had sustained one or more gunshot wounds,' Owen said.

'The canine had sustained gunshot wounds and every victim had been set on fire,' he added.

Authorities found the body of Russell Denham, 82, near a small shed, while the bodies of Shirley Denham, 81; Heather Ager, 32; and her son, Mason Schiavoni, were found near the home, which had also been set on fire.

All four victims had been shot in the head, and a gas container was found near a body.

Denham is also charged with four counts of armed criminal action, and one count each of animal abuse, second-degree arson, tampering with evidence and stealing a motor vehicle.

He was returned to Missouri earlier this month after being held in Arizona on suspicion of theft and displaying a fictitious license plate.

Zahnd said it would be at least a month before he decides whether to seek the death penalty against Denham.

Missouri investigators had considered him a 'person of interest' in the quadruple homicide but had been held only on a theft charge accusing him of stealing his grandparents' car to drive to Arizona.

Denham's attorney, John P O'Connor, declined to comment Monday other than to say his client would plead not guilty.

Zahnd said Denham's driver's license has been revoked because of traffic infractions and child-support issues.

Nope he's not guilt. He just really likes walking around naked in the middle of town. And lying about his DOB.

Grayden Lane Denham has been convicted of killing his grandparents, sister and 3-month-old nephew, whose bodies were found after a 2016 house fire in northwestern Missouri.

On Tuesday, Denham, 30, was found guilty of four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action and several other crimes by a Platte County jury.

The jury deliberated for two hours, after which they also found Denham guilty of second-degree arson for setting fire to his family's home, animal abuse for shooting the family dog, and stealing his grandmother's car and driving to Arizona, according to The Kansas City Star.

The burned bodies of Denham's grandparents, Russell Denham, 82, and Shirley Denham, 81, along with those of his sister, 32-year-old Heather Ager, and Ager's 3-month-old son, Mason Schiavoni, were found outside a residence close to Edgerton, Missouri, on February 19, 2016. Investigators said they had been shot to death in the head, some multiple times, The Kansas City Star reported.

Prosecutors alleged that after Denham murdered the victims, he torched the home they shared, The Associated Press reported. Authorities later located Denham walking naked in Arizona on February 21, 2016, two days after the bodies had been found.
Denham's case faced multiple delays, including in 2020 when he was deemed not mentally fit to stand trial. The court later found him restored to competency, allowing the trial to proceed.

A Platte County man was sentenced to four life terms without parole and an additional 115 years for killing four of his family members including a three-month old baby.

Grayden Denham was convicted in December on four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action, animal abuse, second-degree arson and stealing, Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd said in a news release.
