I dedicate this song to you, @DamagedGoods , not only b/c it's timeless and *sings* AWEsooome, but specifically b/c when I saw the art pictoral along with the lyrics on this copy, I smiled and automatically thought of you and your beautifully creative mind. You can never have too much inspiration. ;) <3

Platonic Commonlaw Spouse, henceforth PCS, made me listen to this last night, and Manic Brain would like to again dedicate this to everyone.

For everyone that hates Christmas or just needs a laugh, this is dedicated to you. Btw, it's NSFW. At all.

Actually, I love Christmas and everything about it, as does Corey Taylor (see his video discussing this song for proof). But sometimes I need a break from the music and all that noise. This always makes me laugh and gets me back into the spirit.

@CalleighB I posted this last year.... somewhere. LOL Either here of FB. This song is on the top of the list by Xmas day.

Ah. Well...congratulations on having good taste in music. :) I posted it last year as well, but not here. I need the irreverence and a good laugh by the day of, and this always works. I'm glad you like it too. At least we aren't the only ones.

This is one of my all-time favorite Sarah McLachlan songs. I get in moods where I can get lost in it and sing/listen to it a dozen times or more in a continuous loop and never tire of it.

The music is almost completely in minor keys/notes/tones to add to the haunting intensity of what she wrote the song about. Here's a quick factoid from Rolling Stone on it:

When an obsessed fan sent Sarah McLachlan a plethora of love letters, instead of recoiling in fear, she penned a song. "Writing the song 'Possession' [about the fan] was very therapeutic," the Canadian singer told Rolling Stone. The stalker sued her for the unauthorized use of his private letters, but the lawsuit was dropped after he committed suicide. "It's funny, because almost every letter I get these days, the writer says, 'I'm not one of those psycho fans.' But ever since then I haven't gotten any letters that were freaky like that, which is great, because I used to get them all of the time."

That li'l blurb aside, see if you can tell by watching at least part of the video (even if it's not your thing :p ) who I dedicate this song to simply because every time I listen to/see it on youtube, I see an incredible resemblance to this person...:spy: ;)

ETA: O.K., no takers. @Macabre , has anyone ever told you you look a LOT like...

Possession ~ Sarah McLachlan

Listen as the wind blows from across the great divide
Voices trapped in yearning, memories trapped in time
The night is my companion and solitude my guide
Would I spend forever here and not be satisfied?

And I would be the one to hold you down
Kiss you so hard, I'll take your breath away
And after I'd wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes, dear

Through this world I've stumbled so many times betrayed
Trying to find an honest word, to find the truth enslaved
Oh, you speak to me in riddles and you speak to me in rhymes
My body aches to breathe your breath, your words keep me alive

And I would be the one to hold you down
Kiss you so hard, I'll take your breath away
And after I'd wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes, dear

Into this night I wander, it's morning that I dread
Another day of knowing of the path I fear to tread
Oh, into the sea of waking dreams, I follow without pride
'Cause nothing stands between us here and I won't be denied

And I would be the one to hold you down
Kiss you so hard, I'll take your breath away
And after I'd wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes, dear

I'll hold you down
Kiss you so hard, I'll take your breath away
And after I'd wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes

@Buffettgirl - Adding these to my feel better soon well wishes.

Grab your earbuds and imagine you're listening to the first at the second. :) <3

[doublepost=1453180375][/doublepost]I'm sure this will be about as popular as a fart in an elevator, but I really don't care how ridiculous, goofy or boring it sounds. It's the 18th and I dedicate this song, the lyrics, and this video to...people. I challenge you to watch this and not feel at least some[thing. ;)

Man in the Mirror ~ Michael Jackson

I'm gonna make a change
For once in my life
It's gonna feel real good
Gonna make a difference
Gonna make it right

As I, turn up the collar on
My favorite winter coat
This wind is blowing my mind
I see the kids in the streets
With not enough to eat
Who am I to be blind?
Pretending not to see their needs

A summer disregard, a broken bottle top
And a one man soul
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
'Cause they got nowhere to go
That's why I want you to know

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone?

A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
And a washed-out dream
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that
Change!

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Oh yeah!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Better change!)
No message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make the change)
You gotta get it right, while you got the time
You can't close your, your mind!

(Then you close your, mind!)
That man, that man, that man, that man
With the man in the mirror
(Man in the mirror, oh yeah!)
That man, that man, that man
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Better change!)
No message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make the change

Oh no, no no

I'm gonna make a change
It's gonna feel real good!
Chime on!
(Change)
Just lift yourself
You know
You've got to stop it
Yourself!
(Yeah! Make that change!)
I've got to make that change, today!
Hoo!
(Man in the mirror)
You got to
You got to not let yourself
Brother
Hoo!
(Yeah! Make that change!)
You know, I've got to get
That man, that man
(Man in the mirror)
You've got to move! Chime on!
Chime on!
You got to
Stand up! Stand up! Stand up!
(Yeah! Make that change)
Stand up and lift yourself, now!
(Man in the mirror)
You know it!
You know it!
You know it!
You know it
(Change)
Make that change

Dedicated to my net nephew @Jake88 and all our guys. Here's a little lyrical booster to help you remember how amazing you really are. ;)

Title song from a great 1985 movie:

St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion) ~ John Parr

Growin' up, you don't see the writing on the wall
Passin' by, movin' straight ahead, you knew it all
But maybe sometime if you feel the pain
You'll find you're all alone, everything has changed
Play the game, you know you can't quit until it's won
Soldier on, only you can do what must be done
You know in some way you're a lot like me
You're just a prisoner and you're tryin' to break free

chorus:
I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire
Burning up, don't know just how far that I can go (just how far I go)
Soon be home, only just a few miles down the road
I can make it, I know I can
You broke the boy in me, but you won't break the man

(chorus)

I can climb the highest mountain, cross the wildest sea
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire burnin' in me, burnin' in me
Just once in his life a man has his time, and my time is now, I'm coming alive
I can hear the music playin', I can see the banners fly
Feel like you're back again, and hope ridin' high
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire

(chorus)

I can climb the highest mountain, cross the wildest sea
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire burnin' in me
Burnin', burnin' in me, I can feel it burnin'
Oooh, burnin' inside of me... (to fade)

Awww! Thanks Aunt G! Aint nuthin but a G thang. I just posted a bunch of inspirational/menstruational music for my fellow ladies of the Den. Yeah I know what I just implied.

I love that song, it's one of my favourites to sing to when I hope no one hears me. And I Will Remember You. Though half the time I can't sing that one because it makes me cry.

In other news, I dedicate this song to Subrosa, thanks in part to this post: http://www.dreamindemon.com/community/threads/petition-to-bring-diaf-back-p.83741/#post-993467

For those of us that have had some truly fucked-up shit happen in our lives, but, kept our eyes, ears & hearts open enough to know when the right stuff comes along.

I cant dedicate this to anyone in particular, on account of the prevalence of overweight lonely middle aged snowflakes who seems to attribute any miniscule amount of internet-based interaction , no matter how indirect or globally distant it is, as some sort of sign of affection and adulation.

So I will just dedicate this to the lovely American wimminz here, who just may strike some commonality with this ditty. (oh, I know, none of you.......)

I cant work out why Angela "Murky" Merkel isnt in this clip though.....
