A New Jersey girl was mauled by one of her family's pit bull mixes when the pet snuck upstairs.

Janaya Everett, three, was viciously attacked in her grandmother's home in West Orange, New Jersey, on Saturday by one of the dogs.

Family members said the animals are kept in the basement and they are not sure how the two dogs were able to get out.

They were looking for something to do, bored dogs are usually bad dogs, just like bored teenagers looking for something to do and that something is usually not good.

That is so sad! (Not judging, just saying...) that grandparents can get stuck with their kids' dogs when they move back in. Grandmother might have been keeping the dogs in the basement because they really aren't hers and not her problem. Or it might be these dogs weren't a hassle and everyone knew they were aggressive so the basement was the best option. Ahhh...but they got out. smh

Wonder what the neighbrhood is like. Some people need to keep mean dogs to protect their home from criminals. Sad truth.

If that wasn't a necessary thing, then this family is fucking dumb a shit for keeping dogs like this. If you have a dog that can't be trusted around kid, let alone multiple dogs like that, to where you have to lock em in the basement when kids come over, you prob shouldn't have the dogs at all. This is especially true if you have grandkids or other young relatives who spend time at the house.

If an animal is so vicious it has to be kept away from humans it's not doing you any favors keeping it. It's obviously a guard dog and I am sure it won't know the difference between a strangers limbs and the owners when it's about to nom, nom on you.

I refuse to be Dog Chow for any animal.

All our dogs were house dogs and dad made sure they were all very well trained.
Locking dogs away because you don't have the time or patience to train them..well... maybe you shouldn't have dogs.
get an aquarium instead.
