When the cops arrived on scene after receiving a report of the suspected molestation, they noticed a messed up Chevy in the driveway. The car was trashed – the windows had been smashed out and there were two bloody chunks of concrete on the front seat. At about that time, Luke came stumbling out of a wooded area behind the home – his head and face bloodied and swollen. Manuel and Krish tried to convince officers that Luke had wrecked the Chevy but deputies discovered otherwise. Witnesses reported seeing Manuel and Krish break the car windows with concrete before yanking Luke out of the vehicle and beating the living shit outta him. Manuel finally fessed up. As Manuel was being arrested, he asked one officer, “That is my son, man. What would you do?”

Manuel Vega, 27, and Krish Carter, 43, are being held without bond on charges of attempted murder. Luke Petruschke has been placed in a medically induced coma. Police said they plan to charge him with lewd and lascivious molestation if he recovers.

Some more information coming out. Manuel only knew Luke for a few months according to his mother. They fished and played cards together. “I pray that [Petruschke] lives for my son’s sake because if he dies, my son will be in jail for a long time,” she said. “We will not drop these charges. He will pay for what he did to my grandson.” She added that Vega is a good dad who just “lost it.”

Sgt. Greg Gasse of Davie Police says no shit. “Vega went out to confront Petruschke as he was leaving in his car…a neighbor Krish Carter joined in and the two of them threw rocks and debris. It went beyond detaining him. It went well beyond what they should have done.”

Vega has a prior criminal history that includes convictions for grand theft, burglary and cocaine possession. When asked how her grandson was doing, Vega’s mother responded that he seems to be ok, although he has asked for his father. “Manuel has been in jail before and done his time, but he loves his son and he cares for his son dearly,” she said. “I’m pretty sure he’s driving himself crazy because he can’t see [his son], talk to him and give him a hug. I know Manuel is destroyed in there thinking about this.”

This video reminds me of the time I went to my estranged wife’s Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza building where she worked. I went to use the restroom and some asshole named Hans Gruber decided to hold everyone hostage. You have probably never heard of the story, and I don’t like to brag, but I saved the day. Btw, who the hell names their kid Senister? It’s like you are destining him to a life of super-villainy.

Authorities describe the attacker as as a white male in his 20’s, about 5′7″.  Police say he has a stocky build and was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information on the attack is urged to call the Michigan State Police. (Or not. *wink wink*)

UPDATE 2-13-10

For whatever reason, this story popped back up and I am glad it did as there was an update back on Feb 4th. Police identified 34-year-old Jeremy Heath as a suspect in the cure of Mr. McCarthy. According to state records, Heath has a criminal history that involves felony assault.

The abuse came to light when one of Terry’s grandchildren approached an aunt and told her what grandpa had been doing. She, in turn, informed her siblings of the abuse against the three children. Each child had a set of parents involved. Three kids – three separate sets of parents. All of them pissed off and seeking justice. That, of course, led to a confrontation with grandpa. Which led to his severe beating.

Terry Gibbs, 54, was admitted to the hospital after suffering a heart attack, and remains there today. When he is all fixed up and healthier, he will be arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor and lewd acts on a child. But wait! There’s more! After the initial three children came forward with the allegations of sexual abuse and the investigation began, yet one more relative sprung out of the wood-work. Grandpa has been a busy, busy man. Police don’t believe he has molested any other children outside of the family, and as of yet, they haven’t filed any charges against the family members involved in the assault.

I cannot wait to get the rest of the details in this one, as I am surprised they are charging this guy at all. There seems to be no doubt that Gabaldon, 29, and a former corrections officer, was robbing Enchantment Propane with an accomplice. His partner was never found, but the vehicle was recovered with the stolen items inside. That’s not to say that a robber should receive a death sentence, but if he was attacking the vehicle of a citizen who was simply trying to help – well than that’s a different story all together.

A close friend of Sanchez, David Dawson, told reporters that “they were bashing his windows in and he was screaming for them to leave him alone.” Sanchez, 38 and a former Marine who served as a military policeman, was merely acting in self-defense. But Gabaldon’s brother, Louie, sees it differently. “Gary would never steal from anybody. He’s not a thief, and nobody deserves to kill anybody or shoot anybody and try to justify self-defense. You don’t kill anybody, you just don’t.”

It seems as if local officials agree and do not believe this was self-defense. Valencia County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Trujillo stated Sanchez was charged “as a result of the interviews and with discussions with the district attorney’s office.” He also added, “We rely heavily upon our citizens, our residents of the county to report crimes to us. We never want them to approach these individuals, or get within close contact where something like this could occur.”

This should be an interesting one as Sanchez is due to be in front of a judge today and his family hopes that the charges are dropped. He is currently being held in the Valencia County Detention Center. The guy called police and even remained on the scene after the shooting. I am curious as to what details came to light that warranted the murder charges. And while I do not promote vigilantism, I also do not support just sitting and watching people commit crimes.

Though DNA results haven’t yet conclusively proved that Jose raped the child, other physical evidence linked Jose to that dirty backyard.  Fliers with a sketch of the suspected rapist were printed out and distributed throughout the neighborhood. Though he was not formally accused of the crime, the Fraternal Order of Police offered a $10,000 reward to anyone who could help get him into custody. A couple of men in the neighborhood spotted Jose walking down the street. “Aren’t you the guy who raped the little girl?” one of them asked. Jose denied raping anyone, stating that he had daughters of his own. “No. I’m not having it,” Jose allegedly replied. And then, the beat-down commenced. About a dozen neighborhood residents got involved. Jose was beaten; with fists, feet, sticks, and boards, for several minutes. “Justice, community-style. It’s a beautiful thing,” said a resident who declined to be identified. On a surveillance video, Jose can be seen lying on the ground, motionless, until police intervened.

Jose Carrasquillo, 26, was hospitalized and treated for numerous head wounds. Still compiling evidence against him for the rape of the 11-year-old girl, police arrested him on an unrelated warrant.The child was injured badly enough to require hospitalization. She underwent surgery Monday afternoon, and was released from the hospital on Wednesday.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – On Friday night at Access Comics, owner Lanny Wolf and two friends, Virgil Vanduisen and Jeffrey Chapman, were playing the card game “Magic: The Gathering”. Now some of the details are vague at this point, but from what I can gather, three men who had been drinking nearby, came into the store, and then left after being asked to leave. Once outside, the men dropped their pants and pressed their asses against the storefront window, causing it to break. This aggravated two of the card players more than having your Bösium Strip destroyed and not having a Beacon of Unrest, so they took off after the men, taking a baseball bat with them.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, Vanduisen, 42, and Chapman, 19, caught up with the mooners about 2 blocks away and allegedly took turns beating on two of the men so badly that the bat broke over one of the mooner’s head. One mooner, 24, suffered a fracture above his eye and the other, 23, suffered a skull fracture and bleeding on the brain.The third man was unharmed.

Now the two card players will face charges of felony assault, a charge that could have them facing life in prison. The daughter of one of the attackers states they were just chasing the men down to help police, and took the bat for protection. Feel kinda bad for the card players, though. Not condoning everything they did, as they should have just let the law handle this one, but I do get a little amusement out of the fact that two drunken assholes might face malicious mischief and disorderly conduct charges…and will have their friends know they got their asses sent to the hospital after mooning Magic: The Gathering players.

(I’ve never played Magic:The Gathering in my life, so I apologize to any players if the Bosium\Beacon reference is out of context…please don’t beat me.)

Richard Finley and Ronnie White

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Ronnie White, 19, was being held in maximum security in the Prince George’s County Correctional Center. He had been charged with first-degree murder in regards to the dragging death of 39-year-old Richard Finley. Finley was a Prince George’s County police officer. 12 hours after White was booked in jail, officers came to feed White and found him slumped in his cell, unresponsive. Or more specifically, dead. The Maryland Medical Examiner ruled Monday that his death was from asphyxiation and strangulation.

Now, here is a bit of info on the death of Finley, a 10 year veteran of the force and a volunteer firefighter with a wife and two children. Findley was part of a team investigating car thefts and had been checking on a truck, driven by White, that had been reported stolen. When Finley got out of his cruiser he was killed when White “intentionally accelerated” toward Findley, striking and dragging him in the parking lot. White was arrested a short time later at a nearby apartment complex.

It is being reported that seven guards had access to White at the time of his death, as well as a number of supervisors.The possibility of someone from the outside having access to the inmate is also being investigated. There is a lot of information on this case, but I am pressed for time so I am just putting up the basics. This police department has seen past problems, and this jail as well. I’ll update throughout the day.

Saturday

12:24 a.m.: White is admitted to the correctional center. Before being placed in a cell, he is given a medical assessment, according to the Corrections Department. He is given a clean bill of physical and mental health, officials say. He is placed in a maximum-security cell by himself and checked on every half-hour.

Sunday

4:30 a.m.: White is served breakfast.

10:15: During a routine check, officials said, “correctional officers found him sitting on the side of his bunk, alert.”

10:15-10:30: According to officials, no one has contact with White during this period.

10:35: A corrections officer bringing White lunch finds him unconscious, “sitting on the floor against his bunk.”

THe man was beat with a baseball bat and then shot twice, one shot reportedly in the head. The victim did not know the suspect and was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital. Her condition was not immediately known. The condition of the accused man is not known at this time either, but I am guessing horny is not one of them.

“He got what he deserved,” Sharon Ivy said. “You don’t go into (a) house … do things to (a) momma and think it’s all right. That was just a community watch.”
