Edinburgh – On Tuesday, 12-year-old Keane Wallis-Bennett was killed when an internal wall inside the gym at Liberton High School collapsed on top of her.
Keane suffered major upper-body injuries when a wall next to the showers in the gym collapsed on top of her as she changed for PE. Witnesses stated she screamed that she could hear something falling, but she was unable to get out of the way.
Staff and emergency services were unable to save her and Keane was pronounced dead at the scene. Police and health and safety officials have began investigating the circumstances surrounding Keane’s death and how the wall, built as a partition, collapsed.
The school had been surveyed by Edinburgh City Council and found to need ‘significant’ work. The local authorities did not have the money needed to fix all the problems found with all of their schools at once, so they adopted a “prioritization” scheme. This led to Liberton High being placed behind other schools needing work.
The wall that collapsed was not identified as a problem when the school was surveyed, but students said the wall had been “wobbly” for months and that they’d warned teachers about it.…
Houston, TX – A Texas middle school teacher is facing sexual assault charges after she was accused of giving a 15-year-old student a blowjob in her classroom.
According to Harris County court documents, police began investigating 43-year-old Corrie Anne Long after a student at Hopper Middle School informed staff that they’d witnessed some odd behavior between Long and one of her math students. They said they witnessed the student smack the teacher on the ass, and had seen Long sitting on the boy’s lap.
When police talked to the student allegedly involved in an appropriate relationship with Long, he told them he had known long since sixth-grade, and that she performed oral sex on him in her classroom last November. After hugging the boy’s penis with her mouth, she told him not to tell anyone or she would lose her job.
Long, who’s been with the school district since 2002, was subsequently removed from her position at the school and is currently on administrative leave. She is not allowed back on campus pending the outcome of the police investigation.…
TACOMA, WA – A former sixth-grade teacher was sentenced to six months in jail for sexually abusing a 12-year-old student for over a year, but with four months already served, will spend the remaining two months at home.
Keshia Shaw was a math and science teacher at at Tacoma’s Gray Middle School when she first started molesting one of her students in 2007. The sexual abuse continued for over a year and a half, stopping only after the boy heard a sermon about molestation and finally told his mother what was happening.
Shaw would eventually plead guilty to two counts of second-degree child rape, in exchange for a six-month sentence. Judge McCarthy delivered the sentence on Tuesday, but was reluctant. He said he’d read through the court documents and didn’t like that Shaw kinda shifted some of the blame on the victim.
However, standing before the judge, Shaw took full responsibility for her actions and Judge McCarthy ended up crediting her for the four months she’s already served, and agreed to let her go home with a monitoring device to serve out the remaining two months.…
MULLICA TOWNSHIP, NJ — Residents of Mullica Township are rallying behind Kelly Mascio, a teacher for more than 15 years who was suspended after finding two students naked in her classroom bathroom and promptly reported it to a principal.
On Sept. 30, Mascio found two 5-year-olds — a boy and girl — inside her in-classroom bathroom together. Both were naked and told Mascio they were “having sex.” Mascio reported the incident to the principal, who then called police and the state Department of Youth and Family Services.
In response, Mascio was immediately suspended with pay even though police found no reason to pursue criminal charges against her and closed the case. Now Superintendent Brenda Harring-Marro has filed tenure charges against Mascio in an effort to have her fired permanently.
The Board of Education met Wednesday night to determine whether to certify the charges, but refused to inform the public — including about 200 people who came out to support Mascio — whether it had certified the complaint or not.
Mullica Township Education Association President Barbara Rheault said this was Mascio’s first year teaching kindergartners and that the day of the incident was a confusing one as children were moving in and out of Mascio’s classroom for MAPS benchmark testing.…
WESTMINSTER, CO – Vince Nett, a 16-year-old sophomore at Standley Lake, attempted suicide in the school’s cafeteria by drinking a bottle of bleach and then setting himself on fire.
At around 7:30 a.m. Monday morning, Nett was in the school cafeteria when he drank a water bottle full of bleach before dousing himself with Coleman fuel and lighting himself up. “I could see the kid in the flames,” a student said. “He was standing and it was almost like he was dancing around in the fire.”
A quick-thinking cafeteria worker was able to retrieve a fire extinguisher that a custodian used to put out the flames. Nett was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, suffering from burns to 80 percent of his body. Aside from a teacher cutting their hand while getting the fire extinguisher out of its glass case, no one else was injured. Police say Nett never tried to harm other students.
No on knows why Nett decided to kill himself in such a fashion, but over the weekend he posted his plans online.…
ALHAMBRA, CA – On Friday, 28-year-old Jamie Carrillo posted a video of herself confronting a former teacher she says sexually abused her when she was a child. Andrea Cardosa, the alleged abuser and assistant principal of Alhambra High School, has since resigned.
The video’s description stated:
“I am 28 years old and have been waiting years to get up enough courage to report a teacher for sexually abusing me for years. When I finally got up enough courage to report her, I found out that the statute of limitations was up and she will never have to pay for the things that she did to me. I decided to call her and make a video to let the public know what kind of person is around their children. Her name is Andrea Cardosa and works with your children at Alhambra High School in Alhambra, Ca.”
In the video, Carrillo explains she was abused by Cardosa for years, starting when she was just 12-years-old and Cardosa was a basketball coach at her middle school in Moreno Valley.…
CARROLL COUNTY, GA – An 8-year-old girl with hair extensions had to be taken to the emergency room after bullies at her school pulled her hair so hard that they ripped her scalp.
Aolani Dunbar’s family said she wanted to brush her hair like other girls at school so she got hair extensions. When she showed up to school, other kids picked on her for two weeks and took turns trying to pull out the extensions. They pulled her hair so hard that they eventually ripped Aolani’s scalp.
“They kept pulling it and pulling it, especially on the playground,” said Aolani. “Everybody got a chance, and I was in the gazebo sitting there crying because I have no friends to play with that will protect me.”
Her grandmother discovered the injury after she returned home from school one day. “When I saw just the horror of it, I just started to cry,” said Dorris Bearden. “I cried as I un-braided her hair and the hair fell out in my hands.”
She was taken to the hospital to have her scalp repaired, where she had to have her hair shaved to avoid infection.…
Danvers, MA – A 14-year-old student at Danvers High School has been accused of stabbing a 24-year-old math teacher to death inside the school before hiding her body in nearby woods.

WOODSTOCK, GA – This one goes out to one of our Facebook Fans, who has a birthday today and asked for something raunchy. Two students in a Georgia high school have been charged with misdemeanor public indecency after a female freshman was filmed giving another student a blowjob inside a high school cafeteria.
Reportedly, the girl was dared to perform the sex act on the fellow freshman, who initially thought the girl’s proposition was a joke. He found out she wasn’t joking after students arranged books and book bags so that the two teens were hidden from others inside the Etowah High School cafeteria.
When the the girl began sucking off the boy, he reportedly stopped her. But not before another student filmed the act and did what all teens seem to do after filming something illegal. “The guy who recorded it, he sent it to people…a lot (of people),” one student said.
Not surprisingly, the video went viral as more and more students began sharing it. I’ve said it before, but I’m so thankful cameras were not prevalent when I was a teen.…
Former Douglas Byrd Middle School principal, 49 -year-old David Edwards, has been arrested after police began investigating claims that he’d sexually abused at least three students between the ages of 11 and 14 years old, on two different campuses, between 2009 and 2011.
The boys told investigators that Edwards not only inappropriately touched them and forced them to perform sexual acts in his office, but that on at least one occasion, performed sex acts on a boy while his unsuspecting parents waited right outside the office’s closed door.
Edwards was charged with two counts of second-degree forcible sex offense, two counts of sexual acts with a student, five counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, and a count of crimes against nature. The judge let him go on a $140,000 bond, but at least gave him an order to stay away from any kids under 16.…
STAMFORD, CT – Police in Connecticut have arrested a 12-year-old girl after they say she was relentlessly bullying another student at a private middle school in Stamford.
The parents of a 13-year-old girl went to police after their daughter told them she was being bullied at school by the 12-year-old, who constantly taunted and harassed her. Even after making the complaint to police, the bullying continued and even intensified.
The bullying got so bad that the victim spoke about killing herself, prompting school administrators to work with police and investigate the bullying claims. This lead to police arresting the bully and charging her with disorderly conduct.
“This behavior will not be tolerated,” Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin said. “If it is brought to our attention, we will vigorously investigate the allegations and make arrests when appropriate. We investigate all claims of bullying, and this type of behavior will not be condoned in a learning environment.”
Some residents think that arresting the girl, who was later released to her parents, is a bit drastic.…
Tonya Flink, 40, taught Computer Technology at Haltom High School. She resigned shortly before police began a year-long investigation into her relationship with her students.
Police were called after the parents of a former student learned their son was living with Flink. The resulting investigation would reveal Flink had numerous sexual encounters with at least four students.
One of the students said Flink liked ‘young Hispanic kids” and told him that she loved him. He also told investigators that he’d done everything imaginable with Flink during the 2010-2011 school year.
He said Flink bought him gifts, called him 850 times in a matter of months, and went to his home in the middle of the night where the mother of three “knocked on the back door seeking sex.” The student told investigators that he regretted being involved with Flink and that it had messed up his life.…
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fl- A former Teacher of the Year is facing 30 years in prison after turning down a plea deal and then being found guilty of having sex with a 12-year-old student.
According to reports, then-29-year-old Ethyl Anderson abused the boy between December 2011 and February 2012 in Anderson’s home during math tutoring sessions. An investigation was started that quickly led to her arrest when the boys mother went to police, concerned that her son was having sex with his teacher.
During the trial, prosecutors displayed over 230 pages of sextings between Anderson and the boy. Anderson claims the messages were intended to promote sexual therapy and academia in order to make him a better student. She stated “That was my purpose, to gain his attention. And yes, I did it in an inappropriate way,” Anderson initially denied having sex with the boy, until the boys mother captured Anderson admitting to exchanging oral sex by wearing a wiretap. Anderson later recanted the admission, stating she was merely saying what the boy’s mother wanted to hear.…
KANSAS CITY, MO – A mother who got angry with her son’s kindergarten teacher has been accused of hitting her in the face, jerking her hair, and then ramming the teacher’s head against a filing cabinet.
Kansas City police say the attack occurred Thursday afternoon after 24-year-old Simone Baker entered her son’s kindergarten classroom at Truman Elementary to talk to the teacher “about what her son stated (the teacher) did to him in class earlier today.”
Baker’s 6-year-old son had returned home from school with a scratch on his neck that he stated was inflicted by his teacher after he had gotten into trouble at school earlier that day.
The teacher reportedly told Baker that if she wanted to speak with her and the principal regarding her son, she needed to return on Friday. Instead, Baker went to the principal’s office where she reportedly created a scene.
“She came up to the school very irate,” said Ebony Walker, the school district’s spokeswoman. “The administration did everything they could do to keep her calm.…
Laredo, TX – The elementary school teacher found guilty of instructing her kindergarten class line up and slap a kid because of his alleged bullying has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.
Cynthia Ambrose was found guilty of official oppression in June after an incident that was reported by another teacher.
Last May, Barbara Ramirez, a teacher at Salinas Elementary, witnessed 6-year-old Aiden Neely hit another student. Ramirez asked fellow teacher Ambrose how she should handle it, and Ambrose came up with a terrible idea.
Her idea consisted of having the boy sit in her classroom and then instructing her 24 kindergartners to file past him and give him a nice slap.
“He was hit on the head, in the face, on the back. And all the kids hit him twice,” said Aiden’s mother. “He had friends in that class, and friends didn’t want to hit him, but the teacher instructed them to hit him.”
What initially started off as light pats, ended at Ambrose’s insistence. “It started out as a pat,” Ramirez said.…
GULFPORT, FL — The driver of the school bus accused by some of not doing enough to protect a 13-year-old kid who was getting his ass kicked by three teens will not face any charges.
According to Gulfport police, the bus had left Lealman Intermediate School when three 15-year-olds — Lloyd Khemradj, Julian McKnight and Joshua Reddin — punched and kicked the 13-year-old victim dozens of times, fracturing his hand and robbing him before leaving via the rear emergency door.
The motive behind the beating stems from the victim telling school officials that one of the attackers had tried to sell him pot in the school bathroom two weeks earlier. The three boys are now facing charges of aggravated battery with one of them facing an additional charge of robbery for taking the victim’s cash.
Police initially wanted charges filed against the bus driver, 64-year-old John Moody, for failing to properly help the victim. “There was clearly an opportunity for him to intervene and or check on the welfare of the children or the child in this case and he didn’t make any effort to do so,” said Chief Robert Vincent of Gulfport Police Department.…
OSSINING, NY – A high school teacher from upstate New York spent Friday night on a jail cot instead of his wedding bed after being charged with raping a 16-year-old student. Does that count as missing an important engagement?
The teacher, John M. Azabache, was arrested after the girl’s family contacted police, and surrendered at Ossining Town Court on Friday afternoon. According to the girl, the couple allegedly had sexual relations twice between March and July, although not on school property.
Azabache pleaded not guilty to third-degree rape and posted $50,000 bail. At his arraignment, Justice Nancy Quinn Koba asked Azabache whether he understood the order of protection she was issuing to keep him away from his alleged victim, the would’ve-been bride, Amanda Rae DeLuccia and two members of her family. “They are witnesses to events after the fact,” Koba said of DeLuccia and the relatives named.
Defense lawyer Tony Castro said Azabache’s wedding to DeLuccia, originally scheduled for Friday, was canceled. Gee, ya think? The attorney would not say whether the cancellation had anything to do with his client’s criminal charges.…
OTHELLO, WA – A fifth-grade teacher in the small community of Othello has been accused of molesting one her 10-year-old male students.
The school district began an investigation on May 30 after receiving information from another teacher that Davis was engaging in activities that were “inappropriate or at least unprofessional,” said George Juarez, Othello School District superintendent. To be more specific, the 48-year-old married mother of three has been accused of molesting the boy in her 5th grade Scootney Springs Elementary classroom, and taking him to the movies alone.
The student would later confirm Davis touched him inappropriately both on campus and off, and Davis was placed on leave. She resigned weeks later, on June 18, before the investigations by the district and police were completed. Police investigated the allegations for a month before handing their findings over to the Adams County Prosecutor. “We did refer it up as a child molestation case in the 1st degree. That’s what the information supports,” says Chief Steve Dunnagan.
The Prosecutor’s Office will now look at the information they’ve received and decide if there’s enough evidence to charge Davis with two counts of first-degree child molestation. …
