GERMANTOWN, Wisconsin - 37-year-old Charles Avey, Sr. walked into the sheriff’s department admitting that he had strangled his 14-year-old step-son to death. He was not lying. Police found Cody Reetz dead in a minivan parked in a Wal-mart parking lot. The motive? He was mad at his wife and wanted her to suffer like he says she has made him suffer. Police feel Avery’s actions were in response to domestic abuse charges his wife had filed on him stemming from a hammer attack. Court records show Avery has five felony counts pending against him, has a history of writing bad checks and a former wife filed a restraining order against him. Germantown police are recommending a first-degree intentional homicide charge and state the killing was premeditated. The sad thing about these types of stories is that Avery will get exactly what he wanted. If I were the mother of Cody, or the biological father, I would be technically insane at this point. HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – On Monday, 64-year-old detention deputy Kenneth Moon was inside a jail pod with 62 other inmates at Orient Road Jail. Without warning, 24-year-old inmate Douglas Burden attacked him. After charging MoonMoon reviews and bringing him to the ground, Burden began choking him from behind. That’s when other inmates stepped in. One inmate took Moon’s radio and called for emergency assistance while others pulled Burden off the deputy. Burden was in jail on DUI and drug charges and now faces battery on a law enforcement officer charges. No word on what prompted the attack, but read on to see video of it. [Read more...]

SYRACUSE, New York – When Joanne Cichy returned home from trick-or-treating with her kids SaturdaySaturday reviews, she could not find her kitten. It wasn’t until she checked her digital camera the next day that she realized what had happened to it. On the camera was video of her live-in boyfriend, 22-year-old Rascell Williams, using a belt to hang the kitten from a door frame. The video shows the kitten struggling before going motionless and Williams walking in and out of frame. Williams was charged with unjustifiable animal cruelty. Cleveland, Ohio – On Thursday, police went to the home of convicted rapist Anthony Sowell, 50, to execute an arrest and search warrant stemming from a rape and felonious assault against a woman in early OctoberOctober reviews. Police did not find Sowell at home when they got there, but they did find something else interesting; the bodies of two women decomposing on the third floor of the home. On Friday, police returned and recovered four more bodies. One was found in a grave under the basement stairs, two in the crawlspace and another in a grave outside of the home. Anthony Sowell was arrested walking down the street near the home on SundaySunday reviews after police received a tip that he was in the area. Sowell was convicted for a 1989 rape for which he was imprisoned from 1990 to 2005. Eighteen-year-old Melissa Taub saw Sowell on the street every day. “He was nice, but he gave me the creeps,” Taub said. She said Sowell once tried to lure her into his house, but she didn’t go. “He scared me, and I didn’t trust him. Some angel must have been watching over me because If I’d have gone into that house, one of those bodies could have been me, one of those graves could have been mine.” [Read more...]

ST. MARTINS, Missouri – Here we go, another little girl has vanished while walking home. Maybe this will end differently than the Somer Thompson disappearance. At 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten was walking the quarter mile home from a friend’s house in the 600 block of Route D south of St. Martins. She never arrived at her home. The Cole County Sheriff’s Department has issued an Endangered Person Advisory. Olten is a white, 9-year-old female. She is 5′ 2″ and 108 lbs. with brown hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion with physical marks. She was last seen wearing a pink scarf, pink shirt and pink sweater and blue jeans with white sneakers. She was also carrying a cell phone. The sheriff’s department contacted the cell phone provider, AT&T, who “pinged” the cell phone to triangulate its location. INDIANTOWN, Florida – 45-year-old Terry Bell was housed in the Martin Correctional Institution serving a life sentence for sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12. His cellmate was 29-year-old Ricky Silva who was serving life in prison for robbery, carjacking and kidnapping. At some point Bell thought it would be pretty cool idea to jack-off to a photograph of one of Silva’s underage relatives. Silva caught him doing it and was not real happy about it. At around 2:40 a.m Wednesday, a corrections officer was conducting his hourly cell checks when he found Bell dead on the bottom bunk with a black shoestring wrapped tightly around his neck. Boston, MA – Officials have not released many details in this story, but the ones that are out there only lead to more questions.  Back on September 24th, just a month after turning 100 years old, Elizabeth Barrow was found dead in her bed at the nursing home she had lived in for the past 4 years.  Sounds about right, huh?  Well, not really.  She was found with a plastic bag over head and even though there were no signs of a struggle, her death was ruled a homicide by manual strangulation.  Her son says that Barrows was healthy and vibrant despite her age.  The family had taken her out to lunch and shopping just the day before her body was found.  Barrow had a female roommate who was in her 90s, but there is no word on any witness statements.  Considering the son is not blaming the facility, singing it’s praises even, and everyone is remaining tight lipped I am wondering if officials are keeping quiet because they in fact do have a suspect in mind.  Whatever the case, I am anxious to hear how this turns out.  It must suck to live that long only to be denied a peaceful death in your sleep. That’s weird, because based on the fact that her mugshot and story are being featured here on the Dreamin’ Demon, you gotta figure that the chick is lacking in the most basic of parenting skills. Nioshka used to have a 2-year-old daughter named Janessa Sandoval, who, according to neighbors, was very well kept, doted upon, and happy. Quincy, Massachusetts – “City of Legends”and “Birthplace of the American Dream” are just a couple examples of nicknames for this historic community in the Southeastern part of the state. The city is divided up into many different established neighborhoods with individual histories and characteristics. Scrolling through the names and descriptions of these sections, one clearly gets a great sense of pride and community spirit. No where could I find the area that might house the uber rich or the extremely impoverished. I’m pretty sure they’re not closely mixed though. Cheyenne, WY – Southeast Wyoming is hell. It’s a gray, desolate, nightmarish wasteland full of howling wind and the ugliest, most desperate shrubbery in the world. When the wind isn’t sucking all rational thought from your skull like a passenger jet with the windows blown out, I’m almost certain that it actually rains road kill. It’s the least populous state in the nation, which means most people have chosen slightly lesser hells like Bakersfield, CA, or even Delaware. Stop and ask a local why the fuck you just saw a sign with a picture of a rabbit with antlers growing out of it’s head. They jokingly call this taxidermy-for-tourism‘s-sake a “jackalope”, but I call it mutilating at least two corpses. It is a place that warps the mind, sickens the soul and ruthlessly chaps the lips of any who dare enter it. That’s why whenever some horrible, bloody tale makes it’s way from those barren hills and into the news, I can’t say I’m all that surprised. Chisago County, MN – It’s not clear when Douglas and Candice Ouellette’s marriage started to fall apart, but by June, Candice had obviously had enough, and filed for a protection order against her husband. On the application, she stated that Douglas had been suffering from depression and suicidal tendencies for quite some time. She wrote that on June 17, he held a gun to his head and told her, “I want you to see this so you remember for the rest of your life.” Candice took the gun from his hand – he whipped out a second one and held it to his head. She called 911 and Douglas was taken to a hospital. She decided to file for the restraining order when she discovered his normally empty guns were loaded – each one with five bullets. The number of bullets equaled the number of members in their little family. Candice filed for divorce on June 29 – Douglas was granted visitation with his children, and access to his shop and outbuildings on the property during the day, but was ordered not to enter the house. He was allowed to call or e-mail his wife once a day. He couldn’t have his guns back until he underwent a psychological evaluation. As of Wednesday night, the marriage is officially over – permanent like. Douglas strangled Candice to death before taking his own life. What’s worse, the kids were home at the time.  [Read more...]

Portland, OR - Break-ups, most of the time, suck ass. Though sometimes a break-up could be considered cause for celebration, there is usually one ‘injured’ party in the situation -  the ass who is the most ass hurt in the whole thing. The ass in this story is Cory Vaughn. Wednesday evening, Cory allegedly got a little rough with his girlfriend’s puppy. When his girlfriend stepped up to protect her critter, Cory turned his anger on her. The girlfriend told authorities that Cory slapped her, pushed her down, and tried to choke her. Cory eventually fled the apartment, and the girlfriend, knowing that Cory had a key to her home and may return to finish the job, left to spend the night with a friend. A short time later, a neighbor called to inform her that her apartment was on fire. Right before she called 911, she scrolled through her text messages and soon discovered who the culprit was and the lengths he would go to to hurt her. [Read more...]

Oxford, FL–You will have to bear with my as I shudder and twitch my way through this story. You see, I have a terrible fear of snakes. The little-bitty garden variety can send chills up and down my spine, so I can’t imagine ever coming up against a “real” snake, of the 12-ft. and longer variety. Shaunia Hare, 2, was sleeping Wednesday morning when the family pet found it’s way out of a glass aquarium, slithered to the child’s crib, wrapped itself around her body and bit her little head. Charles Darnell, owner of the snake and boyfriend of Shaunia’s mother, awoke to find the snake missing. I can’t imagine his terror at what he found next. He entered the child’s room in search of the snake, and discovered the 12-foot-long Burmese python in the crib, on top of Shaunia.
