Vancleave, Mississippi – When Jason Vaughn, 27, showed up at the hospital with his wife, who was 35 weeks pregnant and having labor pains, he had some serious explaining to do.  It isn’t very often that women in labor show up with a partially closed black eye, a split lip, multiple bruises on their forearms, bruises on their body and bumps on their head.  Either this woman’s baby bump threw her so off balance that she became extremely clumsy, or someone had beat the fuck out of her.  After admitting the woman to the hospital, officials notified the Sheriff’s department.  When they got there, this woman had one hell of a tale to tell.

Several times throughout the week, Vaughn beat the woman and punched her in the face, stomach, and head multiple times.  Saturday night, they got into another verbal altercation which led to him punching her AND their 9-month-old daughter.  Yeah.  You read right.  This asshole punched a 9-month-old baby.

He wasn’t done.  Apparently beating his pregnant wife and a baby didn’t make Vaughn feel like enough of a man, so he topped it all off by raping the woman.  Saying this ass has issues would be a complete understatement.  The woman began having labor pains the next morning, which could have been the result of the sexual assault and was able to convince him that she needed medical care.  This was her first chance for outside intervention.  She had not been able to seek help before because he would not allow it.  She was also not able to go to her neighbors for help because they were all his relatives.

An investigation was launched by Department of Human Services because of the abuse of the 9 month old.  The child was placed in the care of her great grandmother until the child’s mother recovers and is released from the hospital.

The woman plans on filing a restraining order but still fears the consequences of her husbands arrest.

Vaughn was arrested as he tried to leave the hospital and was charged with felony capital offense rape, domestic violence by aggravated assault, and felony child abuse.  He is being held on a $850,000 bond.

While I would never encourage anyone to commit suicide, I think Vaughn may want to do some research.  If not, he may want to get used to lipstick and high heels.  The boys in the joint would probably love to show him what a real man is.

Lady, all I can say to you is this: RUN.  Buy a gun and run.  Your life depends on it.

Port St. Lucie, FL- Tetyana Demyanovych has some serious anger issues. On Tuesday, her 43-year old husband was cooking meatballs for his son when 33-year old Tetyana became angry and pitched a fit. She was upset that her husband had not finished some of his chores, especially a fence he was building.

Tetyana began hitting the walls and pulled the AC unit out of the window. Then she ripped the phone from the wall and started throwing the meatballs around. Her outrage continued as she began throwing water at her husband and even bit one of his arms. During the entire incident, their 2-year old son sat and witnessed his mother’s insane behavior. When the boy started to cry and scream, his father picked the child up to protect him from his nutcase of a mother who was then charging after them both with a heavy cast iron skillet. This did not stop Tetyana and, after she whacked her husband with the pan, the crazy bitch pulled curtains down from a window, grabbed the curtain rod, and began stabbing her husband with it.

Tetyana Demyanovych now faces felony counts of aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse. Tetyana, who is three months pregnant, had a cut on her stomach that appeared to be left by the curtain rod during the stabbing. She also had a red mark on her right pointer finger. She gave the officers a variety of explanations for her injuries, but I am sure “because I am a psycho bitch” was not one of them. Her husband said his wife has a bad temper and is violent. He said he hasn’t called 911 before out of fear of losing his job as a security guard. Tetyana’s mother-in-law said that before this incident, she had never seen Tetyana physically abuse her 2-year old grandson. She said Tetyana is emotionally abusive towards her son, yells at him constantly, and she’s seen her son abused by his wife many times.

Robert Drawbough & Helen Sun (Friendster)

Fairfield, Connecticut–‘Oooooooow! Oh my god! She’s biting my arms!’ You know, some stories just write themselves…this is one of them. Robert Drawbough and Helen Sun have been married for about 8 years. In that period, she has broken an acoustic guitar over his head, pushed him down a flight of stairs, sicced a private investigator on him to monitor his every move, and argued with him over a Christmas tree. He finally mustered up the courage to leave. He moved to California. After spending a bit of time researching this story, I have come to the conclusion that Helen Sun is one looney bitch. And, she doesn’t take a break-up well.

For reasons known only to Robert, he decided to give the marriage another shot. He returned to Connecticut from California about a week ago in the hopes of reconciling the marriage. The talks must not have went as planned; Helen was displeased.

First, she changed the locks on the bedroom door so that it locked from the outside. She put a gallon of water in the bedroom and took her husband’s wallet and cell phone while he slept. Then, she handcuffed herself to him. Robert was due for a rude awakening.

The sound of handcuffs clicking is enough to get anyone’s attention, and when Robert opened his eyes, there was Helen. ‘You slept all day today. Now this is what we are going to do for the next day.’ She wanted to talk and she wanted his undivided attention. He freaked.

When Robert tried to escape, Helen bit him on his forehead, arms, and chest. Somehow, he got a hold of a cell phone and managed to call 911. ‘My wife has handcuffed me. She’s attacking me. Please come and help me get out of here,’ he tells the dispatcher. When the dispatcher asks him if he can get away from his wife, he screams, ‘No, she’s handcuffed herself to me, please send police.’ He begins to scream in pain. Dispatcher: ‘What is she doing that’s making you…..’ Robert: ‘She’s biting my arm!’ Scuffling and slapping can be heard in the background.

About three minutes in to the call, police arrived and kicked in the door. Officers freed Robert from the handcuffs and arrested Helen. Robert was treated at a local hospital for bite marks and scratches to his torso and arms.

Helen Sun, 37, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and first-degree unlawful restraint. Her bail was originally set at $400, but the Assistant State’s Attorney urged the judge to increase the bond to $25,000 because of her history of violent behavior with Robert. Helen’s public defender, countered that her client is being treated for post-traumatic stress caused by a crash in Fairfield last year that left her with a disabled leg. She wanted the bond left at $400.

The judge compromised and set the bond at $15,000 and issued a restraining order that Helen have no further contact with her husband. He also ordered Helen to undergo a mental evaluation and get some kind of treatment. Helen Sun bonded out later that day.

Domestic violence isn’t funny, but the following 911 call is.

Deltona, FL–Some things in life just aren’t fair. Your wife agrees to a little oral after an evening of drinking at the local pub. She has assumed the position and things are heading in the right direction. You kick back, relax, and start enjoying the ride. Then….CHOMP! Maybe you say, ‘Hey baby, easy with the teeth, K?’ Then…CHOMP CHOMP! Now your brain is sending out signals that something is waaaay wrong with this usually enjoyable situation, the family jewels are in danger!

Delou Bowers was faced with that sticky predicament Friday night. His wife, 27-year-old Charris Bowers, started gnawing on those jewels like a hot dog. Delou tried to get her to stop, but she continued to bite him. Finally, after a couple of blows to Charris’ head, Delou managed to extricate himself from her mouth.

Charris, has a different version, of course. Actually, she has two different versions of the story. The first one: She was just sitting on the couch, minding her own business, when her husband wandered over and just stuck that thing right in her mouth. She had to bite it to get it away from her face.  And the second version: Her husband walked over to her in all his nekkid glory, and she bit his dick. Personally, I think the second version lacks imagination.

Charris stated to authorities that she just didn’t want to have sex, so she bit her husband’s dick. Regardless, the injury was photographed and Charris was arrested Saturday and charged with misdemeanor battery. She was released from her cage on Sunday without having to post bail.

Bryon Drennan; Stefanie Casey

Williamson, NY – On Thanksgiving, the mother of Bryon Drennan, 36, called police to report that he and his wife of one month were missing. Later in the day, Drennan returned to his parents’ home, where he and 28-year old Stefanie Casey had been living, and reported that everything was hunky dory. No need to worry, folks! He’d driven Casey in his maroon 2008 PT Cruiser to the airport so she could make an impromptu visit to family in Texas. After all, it’s no big deal to just walk into the airport on Thanksgiving and get a dirt-cheap seat on the very next flight to your destination of choice, right?

Except, of course, that’s not what really happened.

Lakewood Drive is just a short distance from the Drennan home; from the map I saw, part of it runs parallel to and very near Lake Ontario. The street ends in a cul de sac, which probably explains the quietness of the neighborhood and the alertness of the residents to unusual events. Police apparently received more than one call from area residents on Thanksgiving reporting “suspicious circumstances” involving a maroon PT Cruiser. For example, after observing a man in such a car carrying a white trash bag into the woods, a woman living on Townline Road sent her son out for a look-see. He found the bag, which contained, among other things, bloody clothes.

Police took Drennan in for questioning Friday night. He admitted that things hadn’t been all lovey-dovey between him and Casey the day before, unless you count “I hit her with a 10-pound barbell plate” and “Then I stabbed her with a wooden heart” as the epitome of devotion. Whatever the case, Drennan insisted that although Casey was bleeding when he left her, she was alive and conscious. He declined to tell them where exactly it was that he left her, but my bet is the airport, because I really prefer to do my long-distance traveling when bloodied by an attack by my spousal unit using unlikely weapons (not to mention the awesome fares and ease of booking mentioned previously). Hoping for the best but fearing the worst, police arrested Drennan and charged him with assault.

Saturday morning, police began searching the wooded areas near where the maroon car had been sighted on Thursday. Early that afternoon, they discovered the body of a woman covered with rocks near the shoreline of Lake Ontario and Lakewood Drive. While the body is believed to be that of Stefanie Casey, authorities are awaiting official confirmation, at which time additional charges are expected to be filed against Drennan.

There isn’t a lot of backstory out in the Webiverse regarding the couple, except that they’d met in Texas, known each other three or four months, and been married about a month. Casey was not employed at the time of her death, and it is believed Drennan was unemployed as well. There may have been previous signs of trouble, as media reports suggest that Drennan had previous domestic violence charges in Hawaii and Texas.

The truth of the matter is that Bryon Drennan almost certainly did kill Stefanie Casey. However, was Stefanie Casey his wife? A search of Denton County, Texas, court records shows that a Bryon D. Drennan filed for divorce from a Rhonda Drennan in August of this year. The final hearing in the matter is scheduled for February 2009. Is Bryon Drennan a bigamist as well as a murderer, or was the marriage of Drennan and Casey a fairy tale told for unknown purposes?

Louise Deeringer & Guy Dugas

Tampa, FL–Demonites, with all the strife, murder, hunger, and pain that we read about daily, we sometimes tend to overlook some of the less publicized stories. Just because they aren’t covered back to back, every 10 minutes on TV, it doesn’t make them any less important. Take Louise and Guy for example. This loving couple have been together for 11 years….no small feat in this day and age. Well, just recently, it was brought to light that something was missing in their relationship…..

All it took was a set of dentures to forever change this couple’s life. Yes my friends, Louise and Guy were living out their comfy domestic lives in their comfy trailer when missing teeth caused it all to crumble at their feet. Please, allow me to start at the beginning, I think it might have went something like this…*fade to dreamy flashback music*

At about 11:15 Thursday evening, Louise Deeringer was looking for her false teeth. Maybe she wanted to chow down on a sweet midnight snack, or maybe she just wanted to brush them, the full details haven’t been released as of yet. She confronts her prince, Guy Dugas, “Darling, do you recall where you put my teeth? I can’t seem to locate them.” Guy, shaking his head, “No, my pet. I haven’t the foggiest idea where your teeth are. Did you check your mouth”? This answer just doesn’t sit well with Louise, and the shit starts to hit the fan.

Louise didn’t believe what Guy was telling her. Maybe she thought he was hiding them, maybe she thought he was using them. She gets pissed and they start arguing. At some point in the argument, Guy decided to give her ‘flying lessons.’ Before everyone starts thinking about what a sweet and thoughtful present that would be, his idea of flying lessons don’t involve aircraft. Louise later told authorities that ‘he tossed her up into the air and onto the kitchen floor.’

Seeing as how she is already in the kitchen, Louise grabs the nearest knife and gives chase! She chased him outside, like a hunter stalking his prey. She sees him re-enter the trailer through the back door. She is right on his tail, chasing him down the hallway screaming, “You’re going to tell me where my teeth are, or I’m gonna kill you!” Guy took refuge in the bathroom. That didn’t stop the feisty Louise, she started stabbing the bathroom door. Luckily, the door held up to the abuse and Guy is still among the living.

Police showed up at the trailer and arrested both parties. But not before discovering that the teeth in question were behind a TV stand. D’OH!

They are both sitting in Orient Road Jail, no bail has been set. 56-year-old Deeringer is being charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 49-year-old Dugas is looking at misdemeanor domestic battery. Both are probably wishing that the damn teeth had been in a glass by the bathroom sink like they are supposed to be! There is no word on the condition of the bathroom door.

The moral of the story? Any lost item will always be in the last place you expected it to be.

Waukesha, WI–Valentina Grenader, 45, had a secret. She blew $800 at the casino and had to come clean with her husband, Mark. She could have made him a nice romantic dinner and wow’ed him with her fine culinary skills, making it easier to ease in the subject of the gambling debt. She could have brought him flowers and chocolate, hell..it works for men. Maybe she did go with one of those options, who knows? It’s what she did after the admission of guilt that earned her a spot here on the Dreamin’ Demon.

After the admission, Mark was pissed! I can’t say I blame him…$800 is like two full tanks of gas these days. An argument ensued. He was yelling and she just wanted him to sit down and speak with his indoor voice. Since talking it out wasn’t working the way she wanted it to, Valentina put her mad problem-solving skills to work. Sex. Sex always shuts a man up, right?

She batted her eyelashes and gave him that come-hither look, motioning him into the bedroom. Of course he can’t resist, it’s make-up sex! He allowed her to tie him to the bedpost. Then, he was blindfold. (Whew, is it getting warm in here or what)?! You know what he’s thinking right now, don’t you? Kinky make-up sex! Yay me! Then, out comes the plastic cling wrap. Ok, another level of kink, but maybe he’s game. That is, until she covers his mouth and nose with it…then it’s all panic baby! He can’t breathe and he’s thrashing around the bed trying to scream for help. Instead of your normal sexy bedroom talk, Valentina starts muttering something about killing him and committing suicide. Major panic mode!

He’s freaking out now, pleading for his life, and she whacks him upside the head with a dumbbell. Not just once, she whacked him three or four times! If that’s not a mood killer, I don’t know what is….

Somehow, bloodied and beaten, this man managed to free himself, whether or not she untied him is unknown. Once free, Mark tied her hands up with a towel and took her to the New Berlin Police Department to report that she tried to kill him. Gotta give him credit for keeping his cool.

Valentina denied trying to kill her husband, whom she called a control freak. She just wanted him to listen to her and speak in a normal tone of voice, and that it was the only way to quiet him. I can’t see him being much of a control freak if he’s the one tied up in a bed, gasping behind cling wrap, and bleeding from a head wound.

Now Valentina Grenader sits behind bars on $100,000 bond. She’s being charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, strangulation and suffocation, and substantial battery. She has been ordered to not possess any weapons, including dumbbells. (What about plastic wrap)? If convicted of all three felonies, the max penalty is 73 years and 6 months in prison. Plenty of time to reflect back upon her idiotic plan.

Mark Grenader required 8 stitches to close the wound in his head. I’m hoping he’s looking for a divorce lawyer…..

Update 10-01-08 – Prosecutors  allege that the entire event took place over 9 hours. They allege Deputy Robert A. McClain forced the victims at knifepoint to undress and ordered them to perform sex acts.

IRVINE, CA - Early Monday morning, Irvine police were called to a the leasing office of an apartment complex at 1000 Peyton. Inside they found a 23-year-old man lying in a pool of blood. He was unconscious and had been beaten so severely that his face was unrecognizable.  The young man also had multiple puncture wounds in and around his genitals in what may have been an attempted castration gone wrong. While police were investigating the attack, a 23-year-old woman drove herself to the hospital and told the staff  that she had been assaulted by her husband, L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert McClain, 34. That’s when police learned he was also their main suspect in the Peyton apartment attack.

As it turns out,   Mrs. McClain was asking for a divorce, and all reports hint at the fact that she may have been having an affair with the 23-year-old attack victim. McClain had asked for a meeting with all three parties present.  That meeting was supposed to take place at the Peyton Street leasing office on Sunday evening – Mrs. McClain worked in the office, and her new boyfriend 23-year-old was a resident at the complex.   Funny, it doesn’t look like that meeting went well.

McClain is now facing attempted murder charges, and the young man who may have dipped his pen in someone else’s ink is facing reconstructive surgery to his face. The reports are that McClain may have used a fire extinguisher to beat the man and then may have attempted a DIY castration on him as well, causing puncture wounds to the man’s groin. The wife’s injuries are unknown, but she remained in the hospital with “less serious injuries” than her lover’s.  Probably because she didn’t have a penis to begin with.

I know, right?  Anytime you dabble in someone’s marriage, it’s a gamble.  But this young man lost in a big way.  I cannot possibly imagine that Deputy McClain’s wife was worth the ass kicking her boyfriend took for her.  Now, don’t get your panties in a wad and start yelling yet.  I’m not saying the man deserved to lose his most precious organ, or anything.  Stuff happens.  But on the other hand, for many years in this country adulterous spouses were routinely shot under the “s/he needed killin’” defense, and convictions for spouses under the duress of adultery weren’t commonplace.

Now, though, we’re more progressive.  Probably had McClain bided his time, taken the younger man out for a drink and then punched him in the parking lot, he might have gotten a misdemeanor – or a warning.  But McClain’s anger on Sunday night was overwhelming.   The victim was so badly beaten that hospital staff told the man’s family that he was unrecognizable.  And nobody really wants to talk about the condition of Mr. Adultery’s little adulterer.

In addition to attempted murder, McClain is also charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence.  He is currently in custody, awaiting court hearings.  The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is filing for McClain’s termination due to the severity of the charges against him.  As a probationary deputy, he can and will be fired, and will almost certainly do significant prison time.  Gosh, soon-to-be former Deputy McClain.  I hope she was worth it to you.

Tampa, FL – Timothy Joseph Gilley, 21, has a hot temper, a short fuse, and two children in his house.  One is his two year old stepdaughter; the other is his wife, the former Hope Rhodes, who is now all of sixteen years old. Yes, you heard me.  They got married in May and already he’s trying to strangle Hope and beat up the baby.   Now that’s love, right there.

Apparently in Florida it is legal for a man under 24 to marry a girl when she is sixteen.  Now, it’s unclear whether he is the father of Hope’s toddler, but he is listed in court documents as the child’s stepfather.   Meaning that somewhere in this Springer episode of trailer trash, Hope Rhodes got knocked up at thirteen.  As far as I’m concerned, unless the father was underage as well, that makes Hope a double victim.

Now, Hope did not give her baby up for adoption, as would have been accepted and expected by many people. No, she chose to keep her baby.  And it appears that despite her youth and her youth-influenced poor taste in men, she’s a pretty good mother.

On Wednesday, though, Hope fell asleep, and Hope’s little girl got into the bathroom.  The baby got into the Q-tips and the powder and she just went to town all over the house.  At about which time Timothy Gilley got home, saw the mess, and got thoroughly pissed off.   Hope awoke to her husband beating the hell out of her daughter, spanking the child violently on her bare buttocks and back.

Hope had the good sense to fly out of bed and into her husband in order to get him off her child.  It worked, but only momentarily. Gilley grabbed his teenage bride by her hair, dragged her into their bedroom, and locked the door.  He then went back to beating the baby, so Hope managed to escape from the bedroom and intervene again.

At that point, Gilley went ballistic on his wife, repeatedly slapping and hitting her.  Finally, he topped it off with a little manual strangulation, choking Hope until she couldn’t swallow or breathe.  Just as her world started to go dark, Timothy Gilley threw her back into her room and locked the door – better this time.  Hope couldn’t get out.  He also took her cell phone and her car keys so she could not leave or call for help.

Gilley seemed calmer on Thursday, and let Hope leave to go to night schol, where she is working on her GED.  When she left, though, instead of going to school, Hope went to a friend’s house and called the police.  No word on where Hope’s daughter was during that time, but it seems likely that Hope did whatever she normally did that night, hoping not to alarm her abusive husband.

Police put out a warrant for Gilley that evening.  At about 1:40 on Friday morning, he was pulled over driving 25 miles an hour over the speed limit.  When he was pulled over, Gilley was arrested on charges of domestic violence, child abuse, tampering with a witness, false imprisonment, and domestic battery by strangulation.  Gilley had bond set at $4000, but it was quickly rescinded once he was charged with violating his probation on various burglary and grand theft charges. Turns out that at age 21, Gilley has 26 criminal charges in his history.

Timothy Gilley is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail.  Here’s hoping Hope Gilley shows the same good sense she showed in calling police.  She needs to take her baby and get the hell out of there, because once Timothy Gilley gets out, neither she or her child will be safe.

Phoenix, AZ – If there’s any justice in the world, Yolanda Begay won’t be driving her 2006 red Dodge Ram truck anywhere ever again. Begay, 34, hit her husband Shawn Begay, 37, with the truck on Saturday, killing him. Oh, and she did it on purpose.

The Begays weren’t gay in any sense of the word. Maybe if they had been, none of this would have happened. Instead, they were good and pissed – and they had somewhere to be. The couple started arguing well before they were due to arrive at a friend’s house. Once they got there, the fighting subsided. But after they left the party, the Begays’ argument picked up where it left off – in the truck.

Shawn Begay, who wasn’t driving, had enough of the yelling and got out of the truck. I imagine the scene was very “don’t you walk away from me” on Yolanda’s part, and “screw you, I’m walking” on Shawn’s end. So Yolanda just decided to hit him with the truck. Which she did, by driving up onto the sidewalk.

And now Yolanda Begay is both a widow and a murderer. Begay was arrested by the Phoenix Police Department and is being charged with first degree murder. I really hope winning that argument was worth jail time to her, because she’s gonna do a lot of it.

Lake County, IN – It takes a special kind of asshole to earn his wifebeater on his honeymoon, and Jose Cuevas Jr. is just such a guy. Cuevas, 37, is accused of beating his new bride Marbelin Jeronimo after she said “no way, Jose” to a particular sex act. Cuevas held his wife’s head under water, beat her until her eyes swollen shut, and threatened to kill her.

Jeronimo said that her new hubby became furious last Friday when she refused his sexual demands. She said that Cuevas said he would kill her and told her, “all you want is child support.” Cuevas threw his bride around the hotel room as she begged him not to kill her. After Jeronimo fell into the hallway, a woman saw her and came to help.

Marbelin Jeronimo’s face was badly swollen, with cuts and bruises all over her. A large bite mark on her arm marked the spot where an enraged Cuevas literally bit a chunk of flesh out of his wife. Now that’s a honeymoon gift that just keeps on giving – permanent scarring. Thanks, honey!

Cuevas, who lives in Chicago, was initially arrested last Friday night and apparently bonded out of jail pending a court hearing on Tuesday. What a surprise – he didn’t show up for his Tuesday court hearing, and police had to go looking for him after his charges were increased. It appears that he was located and back in custody on Wednesday afternoon, although I’ve so far been unable to get a mugshot.

Jose Cuevas Jr. is being held in the Lake County Jail in Indiana. He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, and criminal deviate conduct. His current bond is set at $100,000.

Bean Station, TN - But you gotta give him credit for trying. William Randall Crawford, 34, is the subject of a large-scale manhunt centered in Grainger County, Tennessee. Crawford is accused of going to his in-laws’ home in Bean Station on Saturday night and shooting, stabbing and biting five family members: his in-laws, his wife, and his two children. Fortunately, Crawford was unsuccessful – so far, all of his victims are alive. At this point, though, I would say that a family reconciliation seems unlikely.

The Grainger County Sheriff’s Deaprtment got a call at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday from the home of Jeff and Loretta Dalton. The Daltons are the parents of William Crawford’s wife, Emily. On the phone was Austin Crawford, William and Emily’s fifteen-year-old son. Austin reported that his father had shot a rifle through the front door. His grandparents were shot, his grandfather stabbed, his mother stabbed, and that he had been stabbed in the chest.

When deputies arrived, Jeff and Loretta Dalton were injured with gunshot wounds to the head. Jeff Dalton was also stabbed in the stomach, and Emily Crawford had been stabbed in the leg. Austin was indeed stabbed in the chest by his own father. When 13-year-old Candace Crawford tried to stop her father’s rampage, he assaulted and bit the girl and then fled on foot.

Emily Crawford , Austin and Candace had moved in with Emily’s parents recently. The entire family had gotten an order of protection against William Crawford on April 23 due to threats he was making. So basically, Billy Crawford is an abusive asshole who doesn’t like to be told “no”.

Jeff Dalton remained in critical condition as of Sunday night. Candace Crawford is already out of the hospital, and the other family members are reported as being in stable condition. Meanwhile, William Crawford is on the run. Deputies found his Chevy S-10 a mile or so from the crime scene. The gun used has not been recovered, so Crawford is considered armed.

Authorities say that Crawford will face “multiple charges once he’s apprehended”, but that as of Monday morning, the only warrant issued is for attempted first-degree murder. As always, I’ll update as information becomes available.

Update 4/30/08 – Well, he’s caught.  Maybe a broken ankle, definitely tired and hungry and thirsty (waahhh), William Crawford was found less than 400 yards from the police field command center for his search.  What a moron.

Columbia, TN – Rebecca “Becky” Bargy likes to play bondage games.  At least, that’s what her mama says.   Becky Bargy, 25, is accused of murdering her husband James “Jay” Bargy, 29, by tying him with his hands and feet behind his back and leaving him there for about 20 hours over Friday night and Saturday.  Jay Bargy’s mouth was duct-taped as well.

So did she kill him on purpose, or was it just a kinky bondage game gone wrong?  Becky’s mother insists that Becky told her about the games the couple liked to play.  But other sources say that James Bargy was leaving his wife and moving back to his home state of New York.

Becky Bargy’s Myspace is one clue.  There are no pictures of her with her husband, no pictures of James Bargy alone, and little mention of him at all.  His Myspace is fifth on her top friends, after four other men.  It’s not evidence of murder, but it doesn’t look like Becky’s marriage was all roses and lollipops as of her last log-in on April 16.   James Bargy’s Myspace is set to private with only a picture of his yellow truck on the front page.

The medical examiner has not yet released James Bargy’s cause of death, but already Becky Bargy has been charged with reckless homicide in his death.  She remains in custody at the Maury County Jail pending a bond hearing.

PLACERVILLE, CA - Early last Saturday morning, Charles Anthony Bailey, 50, got mad. So he used an ax to attack his 34-year-old girlfriend Merrily Melson, and took off with their son, 2-year-old Andrew Bailey. He didn’t manage to kill Melson, and she was able to tell investigators what had happened, resulting in an Amber Alert being issued. A few hours later, Bailey was found at a gas station but little Andrew was nowhere to be found.

At about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Andrew Bailey’s tiny body was located in a trash can behind a Kmart store in Martell, California. And while details are still sketchy and the autopsy reports were not released, Bailey was accused in court Tuesday of using a screwdriver to kill his toddler son.

Merrily Melson’s mother, Elinor Melson, says that she’s “aged a hundred years in the past two days”. She says that Bailey’s descent into violence seemed sudden and totally unexpected. “That’s the really scary part. I vote for brain bacteria, or Alzheimer’s, or a terrible tumor because the idea that any one of you could wake up tomorrow morning and become an ax murderer is just too frightening to contemplate.” Or, I guess, a screwdriver murderer.

Bailey has no criminal record or history of violence, and social services agencies have had no prior contact with the family at all, so Merrily’s mom might have a point. Bailey worked for Endwave Corporation, an electronics firm. Merrily Melson appears to own a small tie-dye company called Wholesome Goodies. She suffered “significant” head and face injuries and cuts to her upper body, but was able to run to a neighbor’s house from the fifth-wheel trailer on some land where she and Bailey and Andrew were living. Melson has been treated and released from the hospital.

Bailey was arraigned Tuesday on a charges of murder with a special allegation of use of a deadly weapon, attempted murder and spousal abuse, all with special cirucmstances. He’s in jail and not going anywhere soon. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 28.

Ocala, FL  –  Richard Close, 77, was fed up with the high cost of gasoline and he wasn’t gonna take it anymore.  At least, that’s what he told police.   But instead of taking it out on the gas pumps with a ball bat, or writing a letter to the newspaper, Close was arrested for beating his 74-year-old wife Betty, who had the audacity to need dialysis and thus had to be driven back and forth to the hospital. 

Close says that the stress of working as a security guard on top of his wife’s illness got the better of him.  He says that he drinks “two beers a day” to help with the financial and work stress, and that he lost his temper when he drank a few more and his wife told him to stop.  He’s sorry, he says.  He got three bills totaling $1600 in the mail in the days before he lost it, he says.  Social Security doesn’t cover their needs, he says. He’s worked seven years as a security guard to cover costs – Betty’s medical treatment is covered by insurance and Medicare.  But what right does she have to tell him how many beers he can have? Close wants to know.  And his wife being sick since December and needing dialysis treatments made their gas bill go up, and he was flat pissed.  He doesn’t know what he’ll do if Betty leaves him, he says.  Life wouldn’t be worth living.

Well, that mean old fart will just have to make do without a doormat, says Betty Close.  Her account states that Richard Close had been drinking, and when he drinks he gets angry. They argued and he grabbed Betty by her dialysis arm, the one with the shunt implanted it in less than three months ago, the one that she gets needles stuck in every day or two. “I can break every bone in your body,” he said, according to a Sheriff’s Office report. She said he choked her and pushed her down.  She’s moving to Illinois with her sister, Betty says, so screw that wifebeating bastard.

Richard Close is charged with aggravated battery and battery on a person over 65.  He’s being held in the Marion County jail and he would really appreciate it if someone would hurry up and bail him out because he “doesn’t have anyone to turn to”.
