Tucson, Arizona – On May 31st police pulled over Michael Carlson, 53, and informed him that he was driving a stolen vehicle. Michael decided he wasn’t sticking around to find out what was gonna happen next and fled the scene. When his car broke down, Michael then exited and escaped on foot – managing to allude capture. Police then searched the vehicle that Carlson had been driving and found evidence that suggested something extremely violent had happened in that car and determined that the vehicle was in fact a rolling crime scene.

Michael Carlson had been living with Kenneth Alliman and Rebecca Lofton, a couple who let Carlson move in with them at their secluded location because he was running from Texas officials over probation violations. A couple weeks later, the couple were reported missing on June 2 after family had not heard from them in a week – 6 days before the Carlson’s traffic stop. You can see where this is headed, I am sure.

Carlson was finally captured a couple weeks later and when questioned, he admitted to murdering his roommates. Turns out that Michael had killed both his roommates while they sat in his car. He used a sawed-off shotgun to do the work. Then over the course of a few days, he began making attempts to conceal the crime. He tried cleaning his vehicle with bleach and removing some blood soaked carpet. He hid the gun in an RV on the property. But Carlson had a harder time disposing of the couple’s bodies. Over the course of a few days, Michael Carlson began burning the bodies after dousing them with accelerant, and then burying the charred pieces in the front yard fire pit.

Police did discover human remains in the front yard of the property, and are now in the process of confirming that they belong to Alliman and Lofton. The couple’s son shed a bit more light on the confessions, stating “he did do what he did, but drugs affected him. So he didn’t know what happened.” Also, to add a cherry on top, Michael Carlson also confessed to killing his own sister in 2003. Maria Thoma, 51, who was found dead in Cienega Creek. She had died of a gunshot wound.

Mokena, Illinois – Imagine coming home to a house surrounded by police cars and flashing blue lights. Imagine the officers refusing to allow you into your house because the scene is too “gruesome.” Imagine being told your baby girl is dead and then watching them walk your oldest out in handcuffs, bloodied, from the neck down. That is what the mother of 4 year old Sabrina Clement and 18 year old Keith Randulich had to endure this past weekend.

Sometime Friday evening, Randulich called 911 to his home in a small community that had not seen a murder in 25 years.  When officers arrived, they found Randulich and a 16 year old sibling alive and well, and the body of little Sabrina in the basement, stabbed to death.  She had several wounds to her neck and her throat had been slashed.  A neighbor who witnessed the scene outside of the house said Randulich had no expression on his face and was completely emotionless as he was driven away in a squad car.

Why would an 18 year old kill his baby half sister in such a violent manner?  If they know a motive for this murder, no one is talking.  Randulich was arrested and charged with first degree murder and is currently being held on $10 million bond.  That is $1 million cash to get out of jail people.  Obviously, they want him going nowhere.  He has, however, entered an innocent plea through his public defender.

Normally, I would use this time to come up with some snarky comment about his girly haircut and feminine features and how prison justice will be swift and hard for this guy, but I can’t.  All I can do is try to imagine the anguish the mother of this murdered young child and her murderer is feeling.  The conflicting emotions would drive me crazy.  At the same time, she has to be a mother to a 16 year old who very likely witnessed this tragic event and is probably dealing with emotions of his own.   I don’t think that there is enough therapy in the world for a situation as fucked up as this.

Steven and Jesika Kelsey

HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP - Talk about bringing in the New Year. While some of you were at your local bar bringing in 2009 with your tongue shoved in the mouth of a stranger, or possibly watching in abject horror as Dick Clark counted down from 10…Steven Kelsey, 19, was slitting his 17-year-old sister’s throat before having sex with her, ending the night by stabbing her in the eye in an attempt to get to her brain.

Steven was home after completing basic training at Fort Jackson where a party was being held to bring in the New Year. It is being reported that at around 3:30 a.m. New Years Day, while family and friends were celebrating, Steven attempted to have sex with his sister, Jesika. She reportedly refused his advances and that is when Steven stabbed her in the neck and had sex with her anyway. After finishing, he didn’t like seeing her suffer so that is when he decided a knife to the brain would end things quickly. But not for Jesika. Investigators report that he did not push the knife in far enough and that Jesika died a slow, horrific death.

Later that day, a backpack containing bloody knives and Steven’s identification was found in a dumpster. When police called Steven’s home, his mother informed them that he was out running errands. She then went to check on Jesika and found her dead in her room. Steven is not being charged with the sexual assault he admitted to, but has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of felony murder. He is jailed without bond. Trotwood, OH – On July 20, 2008, three-year-old Hope Cook died of multiple skull fractures. She’d been in the custody of her half-sister, Kimberly Cook-Terrill, for less than a year. Now a Montgomery County Grand Jury has indicted Cook-Terrill, 22, for the murder of little Hope and the abuse of Hope’s brother Dexter, 6.

In October of 2007, Kimberly Cook-Terrill was given custody of Dexter and Hope after their father, Michael W. Cook, 45, was sent to prison for attempted rape and gross sexual imposition. So he was a nice guy – not. And Preble County Children Services, who recommended the placement, were aware that Kimberly had been a foster child herself for twelve years. They may have thought it would help, that she’d had such a rough beginning herself. But apparently Kimberly Cook-Terrill did not get enough help with anger management, or therapy, or resources, or something. Or maybe she’s just an abusive bitch.

Little Hope died in July from what doctors called “multiple skull fractures caused by blunt force trauma”. Kimberly Cook-Terrill called it “a temper tantrum”. To make matters even worse, six year old Dexter was also physically abused.

Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr. made a statement about the indictment, saying, “The death of any child is tragic, but it is made even more so when the death is at the hands of a family member. In this case, the defendant was granted custody of the victims in order to protect them and keep them safe. She now faces the possibility of incarceration for the rest of her life for killing this little girl and cruelly abusing her brother.”

Eloquently said, Attorney Heck. Perhaps a better statement would have been “An ounce of prevention is worth thirty pounds of dead baby.”

Kimberly-Cook Terrill, also known as Kimberly N. Cook, is charged with two counts of murder, one count of felonious assault, and two counts of child endangerment. She was originally held on a total bond of $400,000, but it appears now that she is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail.
