This post is to inform everyone that my life is missing. I have no idea where the hell it went, but it got away from me at some point. I have a sneaking suspicion that it disappeared somewhere between the first article I published here at dreamindemon.com and my 1000th! That’s right you fucking ungrateful deviants. Morbid has posted OVER 1000 articles here at D’D as of today. If that is not one sad, sad statistic to brag about, I don’t know what is. So thanks to all of you readers and participants, it has been a very interesting experience. Hope the next 1000 are no different. And let me use this time to mention some quick site shit. We had a situation arise recently in which a member of our forum had a 2004 misdemeanor public exposure charge revealed in our forums. Because of the nature of this site, this member was asked to leave for obvious reasons – which he did without any issues. The people who posted this info are disgruntled people banned from this site who just cannot seem to move on. Not that I blame them, as this site is the shit. But try as they might, they just didn’t get the reaction they wanted so now they are gonna cry louder. They are now gong to notify all our affiliates that we do not run background checks on our members when they sign up. They are going to tell them we somehow harbor deviants. I know, it is all quite pathetic and normally I would let this silly shit slide as anyone who would believe this is as dumb as the people saying it. But it was also a good time to not only point out how sad people are but also ask any sites or readers who may receive such correspondence, please save the messages and forward them to us via the Contact Form. We can all share a laugh and I can ensure they get to the parties who handle this kind of bullshit. Thanks.

Happy Saturday! We are still looking for writers. We got a ton of requests, but at this point we still have not signed on any people to the team. While we appreciate the enthusiasm of some of you, it really helps more if we could see a little of your work or at the very least, an example. Write something up, whether it is a news story or a review on anything you want and let us see it. If anyone contacted us about this and did not get a response, we apologize as we respond back to everyone – even those of you whose writing sucked worse than ours – but it is possible you slipped through the cracks or in the case of one person, your email provider is blocking emails from us.  So if you are interested in writing for free while selling your soul to Satan, let us know. Now, for some more details…

Here is a more outlined description of what we are looking for. If you plan on lowering your bar by writing for us, as we stated before, it helps to have some examples for us to look at. If you don’t have any, write something up. And remember, one well-written write-up don’t mean shit to us if you cannot reproduce it consistently. We are not looking for Pulitzer Prize winning material, people, we are looking for entertaining reads on a regular basis. If we want a guest blog, we will specifically ask for one (and speaking of, if any of you bloggers want to guest blog, contact us as well). So if you do not think you can produce content consistently, thanks but no thanks. Anyway, her we go:

We need a couple people to write up articles on news stories like the ones seen on the site. You read them, so this is pretty self-explanatory. Film reviews. These include any twisted stuff you want. Horror, thrillers, crime, dark comedies, etc. We had a number of people respond to this, but no one has worked out. Not just from the fact that their writing was worse than mine, but some just never contacted us again. Same with book reviewers. Lastly, people to writeup reviews on television shows. Weekly recaps and such.

What do we offer in return? Well, aside from getting your crap read by thousands of people, not much at this point. Not much of an incentive, I know. But we are looking for people who want to write stuff because they like to and are happy knowing it is getting read. If you are looking for monetary incentive we are not able to help you out there. At least, not at this point. Oh wait, if we dig you, you will get a nifty email address and the need to start practicing mumbling the name of the site you write for!

Now come one, what could possibly be better than that? So if you are interested use the Contact Form. We ignore any other emails we receive other than the ones from the Contact Form. Now, on to some other site crap.

I am sure some of you have noticed a few additions to the site in way of features that you may or may not use or even care about so here is a real, quick rundown. One of the biggest questions is about the big, red bar at the bottom of the page. Trust me when I say that while initially aggravating, I have grown to love the damn thing. Not only can I get to my Twitter stuff, there are some other things there you Facebook users may like as well. There’s also easy access to our recent posts, pictures and even some games. I really suggest you take the time to at least check out each option once as you may find some of it useful.

Also placed sporadically throughout articles, you will see icons beside certain words. These are kind of self-explanatory once you hover over them. But basically they allow you to share your views on that particular subject via Blippr and have them added to anyone else who did the same. Finally, you can now rate the articles we write up. You will see the simple star rating system at the end of each article. We hope you will take a second to rate the articles honestly. They are collected and stored and help us determine how we are doing – even though I just write crap to make myself laugh – not you.

I know that some of you are missing my sexy voice, obvious by the zero amount of emails I have gotten about it from the ladies too upset to send me any telling me that, so we will be resuming podcasts very shortly. They will not be done in the same fashion as they were before, and while I may not be in all of them (don’t cry, please…it just makes it harder for you) they will be weekly and touch on key articles that generated the most discussion on the site for that week. Readers of the site will be urged to join in on these as well. We will have more information on that once we get it a little further along.

Finally, we are not quite sure how we are going to do this, but we would like to show off some of your writing and artwork. If any of you have any dark and twisted short stories you have written or artwork you would like shared, send it to us along with your info. We, the staff, wont review it as much as we will choose certain works to show off to our readers either on the upcoming site newsletter, our Facebook page, Myspace page or even Twitter. We have added a new subject line in our Contact Form just for this.

Other than that, it is business as usual around here. Thanks for continuing to stop by, thanks for the news tips, and thanks for the hate as well as the love. It’s been a crazy five years and we still enjoy providing all the stuff to really scare the shit out of you while satisfying some of you twisted individual’s morbid curiosity.

Well that was a bitch. But it is done. Aside for some tweaking here and there, this will be the new layout for ever and ever and ever. We have upgraded Wordpress to version 2.8. I have no clue exactly what that particular update does for you or me, but whatever, it is done. I am sure it will make all of our lives that much better. As for the graphical changes, we have made a ton. Too many to list, but I’m sure you will see them – since you have eyes and all. If you are blind, trust me when I say the site is absolutely orgasmic looking.

Over the course of the next few days, I will be arranging things here and there, and making a few boxes more dynamic. I had hoped to get that done today, but had no idea that what I thought would take  30 minutes would take a few hours. So, yeah. But basically, I will be making an effort to keep Friday the 13th ads from displaying on an article in which a family gets stabbed to death. But until then, it may happen on occasion.

Other than that, I will continue moving all crimecritics.com data over to the site while adding new at the same time. These reviews are coming from us, some members and a couple new faces we have met over the last month or so. If you find any issues, contact me or just comment here, but it wont be fixed tonight. I am DONE. Gonna go play some more Prototype.

I would like to interrupt this daily stream of filth and debauchery, and give everyone a bit of site news and update everyone on our current affairs. First off, Crimecritics.com will be closing down. But wait! Do not slit your wrists just yet, as there is a silver lining to that ominous, dark cloud. We will slowly but surely be importing the content from crimecritics to here. Like Jame ‘Buffalo Bill’ Gumb, Dreamindemon.com is morphing, changing into something beautiful but without the need for killing fat girls. So if you are interested in what the hell is going on, keep on reading. 

So this is the deal, we just do not have the time or resources to manage two sites. It makes it even more cumbersome when the second site pretty much deals with similar subject matter. See, reading all of this evil shit on a daily basis can get to a person. So to take a break from all the kid beating, eyeball eating and shit feeding, we like to relax with one of our favorite subjects. Crime!

But we are talking about the more entertaining variety. The crap in films, books and television. So as we had discussed doing a few years back, or staff (and some members) will be reviewing certain media. We plan on keeping this after hours and on weekends, with these particular posts not (normally) interrupting the steady stream of idiots Monday through Friday. HOWEVER, importing all of this crap from crimecritics – some very excellent crap – means that for a month or so you will see an influx of reviews coming in. We will try and keep this at night and on weekends, but hey, I ain’t promising ya’ anything. Besides, nothing wrong with a little brain bleach after reading about some dude raping a toddler.

So I am working on getting the Crime Screen and Cracked Spine pages fixed so that they will index reviewed media correctlyand there will be a new Review link at the top of the page (crimecritics will be removed later). There may be some slight design changes in the sidebars, and we are introducing a sponsor section for anyone who wants to include a text link ad of some sort. Hey, this damn thing ain’t cheap.

Now, if you have made it this far, imagine me giving you a big, tasty cookie. You deserve it. I would alos like to point out that we have decided to enter another blog contest. We won In Cold Blog’s True Crime Blog Award of 2009 (which we don’t brag about as often as we should), and now we have our sites set on Murray Newlands Blog Competition. So get over there and vote for us. Honestly? Not to concerned with winning it, but as I stated already, I love entering dreamindemon.com into blog contests. We are like Al Bundy at the opera. A whore with a tiara. A Baby Ruth floating in a swimming pool. This particular contest has us along side a Girl Scout site for God’s sake, and that’s just funny.

So that’s it. Nothing major, just a LOT of work for me and the rest of the crew. Deltona, Florida–When it comes to household chores, I admit, I have a few iron-clad rules. If the socks and towels aren’t folded properly, I get buggy. If the toilet paper roll is on backwards, I develop a tic. If the dishes aren’t loaded into the dishwasher in a particular fashion, I break out in hives. But, I can honestly say that I have never actually strangled another human being for allowing the forks to mingle with the spoons in the dishwasher.

Joseph Strauch took his anal-ism a bit too far Wednesday afternoon when his 74-year-old girlfriend loaded the dishwasher the wrong way. He freaked the hell out and knocked the crap out of her. That wasn’t enough to show his displeasure in her dirty dish arrangement, he also strangled the woman until she lost consciousness. The woman was taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises and red marks around her neck.

Strauch, 82, was arrested and charged with battery by strangulation. His bond was set at $5,000. Seems Strauch might have an anger management problem…court records show that he punched a 68-year-old man after the man complained about Strauch taking his grocery bag away. Crotchety old fucker….

This story brought out some commentors who allege to know the teen, and state that he had been abused by his mother for years, which in turn brought up a bit of the gender bias that is prevalent in other cases in which a boy kills his mother, he is a monster. But you won’t be able to hit that soon, girls, because Jacob Bynog is going away for a very long time. He was arrested on Monday for killing his mother, 65-year-old Patricia Ann Bynog. How do police know he did it? He buried her in the backyard, is how. Oh, and he told the cops his mother was “evil” and “needed to die”. Sounds like an admission to me.

League City, TX - Erin Ashlyn Moffatt, 19, reported her mother missing the week of September 7 – just in time for Hurricane Ike to make its way to Galveston. No wonder, then, that in the flurry of preparations for the storm, Jana Moffatt, 47, didn’t turn up right away. On September 15, two days after Ike made landfall, Jana Moffatt’s body was found in a field.

FOUNTAIN, CO - Nikita Weis, 18, has to like big titties more than any person I have come across so far. Charlotte, NC - Alexandria Salem’s body was found in the trash. At about 5:00 yesterday morning, a woman opened her Charlotte dry cleaners and noticed a large bag next to the dumpster. Inside were the remains of the 46-year-old Salem. She’d been brutally murdered and hastily dumped. Now, police are looking for Salem’s daughter Leslie Michelle Morales, 21, and Morales’ boyfriend Daniel Francis Pataki, 22.

This one is local to me, and both of them have a court date on 06/18/2009. In February, some new robbery charges were added. – Morbid

Christian Taylor, 14, Killed His Mother

Reason – Lifestyle disagreement

WELLS, Vt. – On August 2nd at 3:55 a.m., 911 operators received a call and heard the sounds of a woman screaming along with the unmistakable sound of an object hitting another object repeatedly before the screaming stops. State troopers are dispatched to the address the call originated from and Christian Taylor, 14, answered the door stating he was unaware of any problems and told the troopers he would go get his mother, 40-year-old Francine Morgan. When he returned to the troopers, he stated that there was blood in her room. When troopers went inside, they found Francine Morgan’s body on the floor, a bloody flashlight on the bed as well as blood splattered on the floor, ceiling and walls. An autopsy revealed that Francine Morgan died from blunt force trauma to the head and that she had also been shot in the cheek.

This kid scares the crap out of me. To be that young and so filled with hate and anger that you could just bash your mother’s head in with a flashlight without a second thought? I truly can’t wrap my mind around it. - Jaded

Antwan Anderson Is Ungrateful

Riviera Beach, FL – Jeanette Anderson was already over 50 when she took in the little boys. They needed a mother, especially baby Antwan, just three days old. She adopted Antwan and his brothers and raised them as her own, teaching them the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Well, apparently Antwan Anderson wants someone to bludgeon him to death, because that’s what he did to his adoptive mother.  Anderson, 19, is charged with killing Jeanette Anderson, 71, with a hammer to the side of the head.  Her body was found on Tuesday.

Everyone has those stories that deal with subject matter that always fascinates you, even if it is a morbid fascination. Mine are usually stories that deal with kids who kill. And people who kill with a hammer. Just seems like such a gruesome, manual, ultra-violent mode of murder. – Morbid

Angela Modispaw Listens To The Voices

Smock, PA – And she listens good. Angela Modispaw, 29, claims that she heard voices early on Friday morning, telling her to kill her mother. By 4:30 a.m., Theresa Modispaw, 58, was dead of brutal stab wounds and Angela’s brother Michael Modispaw had been stabbed in the back with scissors. Apparently those voices weren’t playing around. In March of this year, her attorney claimed she is mentally incapable of standing trial on a homicide charge.

Also, to make this story a bit stranger than it was, there are people out there stating that mind control waves had actually been at fault, and had been controlling her. – Morbid

Mary Beth Connolly Pushed Mom Too Far

Method - Pushed down flight of stairs
Reason – Unknown but pair had been in several arguments prior

Livonia, MI. - Mary Beth Connolly, 49, pushed her mother just a little bit too far during an argument March 9. By the end of the dispute, Betty Connolly, 82, lay dead at the bottom of a staircase in her Michigan home. Mary Beth Connolly was found in the living room, bleeding from a self-inflicted neck wound in an apparent suicide attempt. While Mary Beth was in the hospital, police monitored her phone calls.  Betty Connolly’s autopsy showed that Betty Connolly had died of head and neck trauma consistent with being violently pushed down the flight of stairs, and Mary Beth’s telephone conversations did not sound like her mother’s fall had been an accident at all. When Mary Beth Connolly was released from the hospital on Friday, she was arrested.

She later pled guilty to second-degree murder and will serve up to 40 years in prison – Morbid

Jesse James Campbell Read The Bible

Houtzdale, PA — Early Thursday morning, Jesse James Campbell, 20, beat his mother in the face with a five pound weight, choked her, slashed her wrists, cut her throat, then read the Bible to her as she choked on her own blood and died. Cindy Jo Coleman, 49, was found dead in the apartment she shared with her son just hours later. Her parents went to the home to check on Coleman after state police got a tip that Campbell was planning to kill her.

Jesse James Campbell was eventually convicted and will spend life in prison.  – Morbid

Hopefully all of these individuals get what they deserve. And all you mothers out there who are bitching about the slop your family treated you at Chili’s, or the cheap perfume your husband picked out for your 5-year-old to hand to you, or the crappy card that was obviously picked out yesterday among the ones left that no one wanted – shut the fuck up.

Be thankful you got anything. Be thankful your kid didn’t crack your head open like a melon while you slept, or choked the ever living shit out of you as tears stream out of your bugged-out eyes while you gasp for air so that you can simply ask “WHY!?! WHY!?!” There’s is a saying that parents love to jokingly tell their children that goes something like “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.” Well just let these 10 stories be a nice reminder that while that comment may indeed be true, your kids are very capable of beating you to the punch. I really should have cleaned the house, but I kept finding other things to do…like redesigning the site. It has been discussed for a bit, especially after we set up crimecritics. So I started working on it a bit tonight. There is still some work to do with the sidebars and all our old posts, but whatever. I like it. If you don’t, stuff it. HAR!

Hopefully this will help us streamline the page a bit, and keep things a little more uniform. I have a few things left to do, like re-styling the sidebars to the right, and doing a bit of background image re-tooling,  but I will get to them soon enough. Other than that, nothing has changed aside from the fact that we have a feature box active for stories we want to point out, we can get a couple more stories on the page, and we can finally get a little longer titles. I have a legend I am working on, but it isn’t anything really important, just something I want to add.

So if you see any graphical glitches, it is probably just me messing with the site. I figure it will be a few days before I get everything hashed out. I went through and re-formatted the last 20 posts to the new style, but older posts will look a little jacked until we get the re-configured. But we will get them all done eventually.

Before I start getting emails about it, I figured I would make this quick post to let everyone know that we are trying out Kontera. This is the reason why you are seeing some double-lined words on the site. No need to be alarmed, everyone stay calm and we will get through this with no problems. That is all, have a GREAT day. So the other day, I was moving some shit out of the attic. One of these things being an old Commodore with the outer casing taken off.

Right on top of the components is a thin layer of sheet metal of some type. As I was stepping over it, barefoot and with a cup of coffee, my big toe hit this layer of sheet metal and the side of it was basically flayed. I say basically because the skin did not come all the way off, it was kinda flapping like a car door.

I have very little first aid supplies, the only ones I use the most consist of a bottle of Nyquil and Vodka. I figured that while both may be effective in this case at a later date, they would not help the current situation of my toe now spurting blood all over my floor.

Digging around the medicine cabinet while placing my foot in the sink, I was able to scrounge up a bottle of rubbing alcohol with about an inch left at the bottom, some gauze left over from a dental appointment and a rolled up tube of Neosporin. Fearing some strain of tetanus from a piece of metal that has been in a dusty attic for 8 years, I immediately poured the rubbing alcohol into the open wound. After involuntarily pissing my pants a little from the pain of doing that, I wrapped up my toe with a wash rag.

I repeated the rubbing alcohol technique a second time, remarking on how interesting the inside of my big toe looked and realizing that it almost looked cloved. I then squeezed Neosporin into the gap, shoved gauze in and around it, then wrapped it up with some Scotch tape I had left over from wrapping a birthday present. As of this morning, my expert medical skills have left me with a sort of throbbing toe that just needed a large band-aid. So if any of you need a mid-wife or breast exam, give me a ring. I am effectively a doctor.

Thanks for all the “man up” and “stop being a pussy” comments on my Facebook page in relation to this traumatic, life-changing injury. It’s good to be loved.

10. Michael Gagnon Is An Asshole (January 1, 2008 – 262 comments)

Michael Gagnon drove drunk right before the New Year and killed five people:  Bethany Griffin, 36, Jordan Griffin, 10, Vadi Griffin, 8 weeks, Lacie Burkman, 7, and Haley Burkman, 10. Gagnon injured three other members of the family. In late June, he was sentenced to 43 years in prison.

9.  Modesto Police Officer Does World A Favor (June 16, 2008 – 265 comments)

Modesto Police Officer Jerry Ramar shot Sergio Aguiar as Aguiar was in the process of kicking and beating his two-year-old son, Sergio Jr., to death. Aguiar was killing his son on the side of a rural California road in front of multiple witnesses. This case engendered a lot of debate among our readers: should passersby have tried harder to save baby Sergio at possible risk to their own safety? There was little middle ground on this story, and the comments still make for an interesting exercise in morality and ethics.

8.  Felicia Mikels Is Dead-Thanks, Uncle Chris! (January 21, 2008 – 392 comments)

Felicia Mikels, 17, didn’t make it home the night of January 18, 2008, because she was dead.  Her five-week-old daughter Miciana was abandoned on a New Jersey lawn, but Felicia remained missing. Felicia’s paternal uncle, 26 year old Christopher Mikels, and his friend Douglas Mandichak, 25, had reason to believe that one of them was Miciana’s father. Felicia’s uncle and his friend had been having sex with Felicia for some time. They didn’t like being asked for child support, so they beat Felicia to death and threw her body in a river, where it lay unrecovered until April 29 because of ice. Chris Mikels and Douglas Mandichak are under indictment for murder.

7. Cesar Monarrez Rapes Children (February 13, 2008 – 399 comments)

Cesar “Bubba” Monarrez, 18, was arrested after being caught on video molesting a four-year-old-girl at a daycare center in Springdale, Arkansas. This article spawned the Bubbaku, a Demon-inspired haiku used to make fun of assclowns. This article also spawned widespread use of the word “tard” to describe some levels of idiocy exhibited by defenders of the people we cover. Bubba has since been convicted and will be in prison for a very, very long time. But the comments are hilarious. I highly recommend them.

6. Charles Smith & Christina Haynes SUCK! (June 18, 2008 – 522 comments)

The story of Charles Smith and Christina Haynes is one of the most heinous non-fatal cases of child abuse I’ve ever seen. Haynes’ daughter Kyra Wine, 3, lost part of her feet, bits of her fingers, and had extreme bruising all over her tiny body when found by officers doing a welfare check in June. The toddler’s scalp had been pulled away from her skull, her hands and feet had been restrained until the circulation was cut off and her flesh rotted and died. Still, we got family members of the perpetrators in our comments section, yelling that we didn’t know the full story. We knew enough: Kyra remained in the hospital for months. She is now with her grandparents and sister, still recovering.

5. Alicia Hartner Controls the Minds of Men (March 6, 2008 – 611 comments)

Alicia Hartner, Mike Wellwood and Phillip Morris were arrested and charged with the double murder of Jack Mascow and Dennis Langley, Alicia’s mother’s ex-boyfriend, in Michigan.  Alicia wrote out and signed a confession implicating Mike and Phillip, and to all appearances (especially mine), they looked guilty as sin.  Sometimes, looks are deceiving.   While the three suspects were held without bond for months on end, evidence turned up implicating one Doyle Palmer, 40, in the murders.

We have had many family members come to the site on every side of this case: the victims’, Doyle Palmer’s, Alicia’s, and most notably our members FreePhil and FreePhil2, who are relatives of (guess who?) Phillip Morris. Phillip’s family steadfastly maintained his innocence and kept us updated. Early in December, I heard from Phillip’s sister, who told me the charges were being dropped against her brother and possibly against Alicia and Mike as well. She was right. By Christmas, after being in jail for nine months, the three original defendants were released and the murder charges were dropped against them. Charges remain in effect against Doyle Palmer. I got to reverse myself and apologize (a rare occurrence, I might add), and this case continues to develop. Watch this case with us into 2009.

4. Couty Alexander Showed His True Colors (July 1, 2008 – 740 comments)

Couty Alexander shot Christa Ann Baker, his bride of three months, in the head.  No real dispute there – clearly, he did it.  How it happened was another matter, and it seemed that everyone who ever knew Couty or his homeschooling, conservative, fundamentalist Christian family came to our site to talk about it. From “it was an accident” to “don’t blame the homeschoolers”, myriad topics got covered in our comments section, and this story took on a life of its own.

3. Did Tyson Chamberlain Kill Easton Lee? (March 28, 2008 – 896 comments)

The answer is almost certainly “yes”.  On March 21, eight-month-old Easton Lee died a horrific death.  Tyson Chamberlain, a roommate of Easton’s mother, told police he’d been bathing the baby when he slipped under the water.  While trying to save the infant, Chamberlain said, he accidentally caused a few injuries.  The autopsy disagreed.  This case is still pending, and we have multiple family members and friends of nearly every party in this case, including Easton’s grandmother. Those who believe Tyson is innocent have been as vocal as those who believe Tyson is guilty. Easton’s family has shown us grace in the face of their crushing grief; Tyson supporters are adamant that their boy isn’t the babykilling type. We’ll be following this case closely through the trial phase.

2. Dead Baby, Carseat Found On Side Of Road (January 29, 2008 – 1507 comments)

Early on the morning of January 29, 2008, Travis “T.J. Mullis” left the Texas trailer he shared with his girlfriend, Caren Kohberger, and took their three-month-old son Alijah with him. The baby had been crying, and Caren was ready to get him out of her hair – even though Travis said he wasn’t safe to take Alijah. And Travis should know – he’d already attempted to molest a little girl living in the same trailer. Caren insisted Travis take the baby with him, so Travis did. He drove from Alvin to Galveston, where he took baby Alijah out of his carseat, put him on the ground, stomped his skull in, and left his diaper-clad body right off the seawall. A few hours later, birdwatchers stumbled across the body of Alijah James Mullis.

This story was the one that showed us what happens when a case grabs the attention of a group of people. We closed comments at nearly 1500, then reopened them briefly. This case was by far the biggest commenter turnout this site had ever seen. Until…

1. Caylee Anthony (July-December 2008, 7 posts, 31,662 comments.  Yes, 31,662.)

Does this story need any introduction, any explanation?  Yeah, I thought not. Our biggest story of the year was none other than the murder of two-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony. Caylee’s mother Casey Anthony, 22, has been charged with murder in her death. Caylee was killed on or about June 16 and reported missing a month later on July 15. After multiple articles and major drama in and around this case, utility worker Roy Kronk discovered Caylee’s body on December 11 just yards from the Anthony family home in Orlando. Well, actually, he discovered it in August. Yeah, it’s a long story. If you’re not up on your reading, better get on that.

In conclusion, all our stories are important to someone. Some of the stories that have affected us the most didn’t even crack the top ten: Tina Richards and Phillip Waller Suck At Parenting, Tracey Hermann & James Sargent Suck At Parenting, and a lot of other parents who suck at parenting come to mind.

Morbid asked our staff writers to come up with their own top tens, and I’ve posted them in the forums. Here are Ruby’s Top Ten; Lizard’s Top Ten, and So Jaded’s Top Ten. And if you have a favorite (or un-favorite) story we missed, tell us about it. We want to know what moves you. Caylee Marie Anthony ~ August 9, 2005 – June 2008

Orlando, FL – Wow.  Hell of a news day, huh?  First, the DNA is back, and the tiny remains found in a trash bag last Thursday are, in fact, those of Caylee Marie Anthony.   No real surprise, I suppose.  I think we all knew when the body was found that it was hers.  Who else would it be?  No other tiny little girls with longish brown hair were even missing in Florida last week.

To add insult to murder, it now appears that Roy Kronk, the utility worker who found Caylee’s body, tried to notify authorities in August  about the suspicious trash bag in the woods.  Yes, the very same trash bag that turned out to hold the toddler’s remains.  Three times on three different days, Mr. Kronk says, he called authorities.  Yet it was not until the December 11 911 call (when Kronk reported that the bag had opened and a child’s skull had fallen out) that the remains were finally recovered – four months after Kronk made the first call to police. 

Dr. Jan Garavaglia, Chief Medical Examiner of Orange County, held a press conference today in which she said that Caylee’s remains were primarily bone, and that in fact the entire skeleton was not present in the bag, which was damaged when recovered.  Some of Caylee’s tinier bones had been found in a one-acre area around the dump site, and Dr. G. said that some of those bones were pebble-sized.   She ruled Caylee’s death as “homicide by unknown means”, which basically means that babies don’t get taped up in trash bags by themselves.

For his part, utility worker and unsung hero Roy Kronk issued a prepared statement in which he said that he had spoken with law enforcement, but would not reveal any details about Caylee’s body.  He did say that he’d tried on three occasions in August to alert authorities to the trash bag, which he thought looked suspiciously like it might contain a body.

Mr. Kronk first called on August 11  to report the bag, which he had described as not far off the road.  But a sheriff’s deputy who responded to the call couldn’t locate Kronk, and left.  So the next day,  August 12, Kronk called a crime tip line. The tip was sent to the Orange County Sheriff’s criminal investigation division, but no real action appears to have taken place.  One report says that a notation was made that the area had already been cleared by cadaver dogs.

Then, on August 13, Kronk called police the third time. He met with police, and a deputy went into the wooded area to investigate his claims, but didn’t find anything – although the report from that visit seems to indicate that the officer left before going deeply into the woods due to a “large snake” in the area. The scene was then cleared as a possible place of interest in the case.  Oh, oops.

There is now an internal probe under way within the police department into how the matter was handled. Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said he’s not ready to “throw anyone under the bus” just yet, but it seems likely that the four month time lapse could have resulted in a lot of lost evidence.  Without much, if any, soft tissue remaining, a cause of death for Caylee is going to be much more difficult, if not impossible, to determine.

I’ve heard rumors that the defense is trying to paint Roy Kronk as a suspect, but Sheriff Beary squelched that this afternoon, saying that Mr. Kronk is not a suspect and is, rather, a concerned citizen who was following up his own investigation last week when he saw that the bag had been opened and the remains scattered.

In a sad little end note, the department released a photo – of what appears to be the book Caylee was reading in the last known video of her, taken within a day of her disappearance.  The large yellow hardboard book was on the ground near the dump site, covered with leaves – just like the tiny body of Caylee Anthony.

In preparation for the site upgrade, certain plugins and features have been disabled. This is causing some functions of the site to not function correctly, including the paged comments and comment number feature. I could take the time to fix it, but the upgrade will do that for me, so for now…it will remain broke for a day or so. We had decided to upgrade the site until next weekend, but fuck it…no time like the present.

The look of the site will be changing as well, so if you notice any graphical glitches or anomalies, please know I am aware of them and I am working, in between blunts, to get them fixed. Bare with us over the next few days and the end result should be a sleeker, sexier Demon.

Aside from paged comments and page numbering being broken currently, so is the “click quote” function. Some of the sidebar content has been removed for now, and some ads are not displaying correctly (I know, I know, that really has you guys in an uproar…your ads are missing) but none of this will be fixed until later tonight. Once we change over to the new theme, I will then begin adding stuff back in. The end result will be� a less cluttered look and hopefully a faster running site. Once the theme is activated, I will remove this post and replace it with a new one, explaining some of the differences you may or may not notice, and what has been added or removed…or just moved to a different location.

Until I put up that new message, no need emailing me about something being fucked up. Wait until AFTER I think there isn’t anything fucked up. THEN contact me and let me know something is fucked up.

UPDATE – I still have a lot of work to do, but this will be the new layout. I know it may be a bit jarring at first, but I have used ti all day and I like it much, much better. As usual, hold off on any negative comments or letting me know things are broken. Trust me, I know and I am getting to them.

As for anyone who likes the old look better, great.

Next on my list (in no particular order):

• Getting logo back in header
• Add numbers to the comments
• Changing three icons at top-right to red
• Add icons for our Myspace, Twitter, etc pages.
• Get the friggin’ “recently commented on” plugin working

After those four, I will go on to four more…but those are the ones aggravating me the most. And before anyone tells me that the page loads red first, I know. I’ll get to it later on as it does not hinder anything…and besides, it reminds me of the elevator doors opening in The Shining…and that pleases me greatly.

UPDATE 12/13/08 – I’ve been told that the hair on the recovered body is a visual match for Caylee’s hair under a microscope.  The bone measurements are also correct for Caylee, so it’s just about certain that these remains are hers.  More details at the bottom of the article.

Orlando, FL (December 11, 2008) - The search for 2-year-old Caylee Anthony may be over.  At about 9:30 this morning, a utility worker who was working near the Anthony home walked into a wooded area to relieve himself.  As he walked through the hilly, wet grass, the man stumbled across a trash bag which was held together with duct tape. When the man opened the bag, the skull of a small child rolled onto the ground.  Inside the bag was the rest of the child’s body.  Caylee Anthony, 2, has been missing since approximately June 16, but was not reported missing until July 15.

We are watching this story break and will continue to bring you updates as we have them.  Right now, we are hearing that there is a search warrant being issued for Anthony home.  Dr. Jan Garavaglia, better known as “Dr. G: Medical Examiner” from The Health Channel, is reportedly at the scene.  As Chief Medical Examiner of Orange County, she will be responsible for the processing of the remains.  The body appears to be that of a little girl and is reported to be mostly skeletonized.  DNA is already being processed to confirm the identity of the body as Caylee Anthony.

The body was found in an area that had, until recently, been under water. In September, Tim Miller and EquuSearch were not able to get to the site due to flooding, and in November, when EquuSearch returned, the site had been fenced off.   The site is about a quarter mile from the Anthony’s home. If this body is Caylee’s, it suddenly makes sense that Casey Anthony kept telling her mother that “Caylee’s close by, I can feel it.”

Casey Anthony’s reaction to today’s find has been very different from past possible Caylee discoveries.  Several weeks ago, when it was reported that bones were found in a bag in a river, Casey reacted by returning to her cell with no emotion.  That find was quickly debunked.  Today, however, Casey is reported to be in hysterics, having panic attacks, and has apparently been given sedatives to calm her down.  That’s quite a change from the stoic, nonplussed reaction the media has seen from Casey at other times.  Sounds telling to me.

George and Cindy Anthony, Casey’s parents and Caylee’s grandparents, are on their way home from a Larry King Live taping in California. Apparently Lee Anthony and his girlfriend Mallory were house-sitting for the elder Anthonys when deputies arrived at the home this morning.  The Anthony family will not be let into the house while it is being searched as a crime scene.

It is not yet certain that the body, which is mostly skeletal now, belongs to Caylee, but it seems likely that the remains are hers.  Jose Baez has reportedly gone to the jail and met with Casey Anthony before heading off to file an injunction seeking to preserve evidence and allow the defense to conduct its own independent testing.  Just this morning Baez has asked for a change of venue in Casey’s upcoming murder trial and been granted a continuance.  The trial was originally scheduled to begin on January 5 but is now being put off until March.  A hearing is scheduled for January 15.

Update 12/12/08 - Overnight, a search warrant was executed at the Anthony home.  Among items removed were seven large paper bags and four boxes of evidence. They also seized four vacuum cleaners and two pesticide tanks. Sheriff Kevin Beary says that items were taken from the Anthony home that are consistent with items found with the body.

Update 12/13/08 -  In an emergency court hearing yesterday, Jose Baez was denied his request to have his own experts at autopsy.  My source tells me that the autopsy is finished pending some lab work and, of course, DNA, which is being rushed through and should be back as early as next week.  However, the bone measurements and hair are a match for Caylee by visual inspection.  And hair is very distinctive under a microscope, so it’s all over but the “yes” on the DNA.  We’ll keep you updated as we get information.
