I’m torn about this episode. Originally, I loved the idea of this mysterious alternate reality. However, I thought we would be moving through it a bit faster. The throwback to season one is fun, don’t get me wrong. It also plays into to the cyclical nature of the show. But do we need to see how each and every one of the 815 passengers are living their lives without any justification as to why this is happening?

It should be noted that for LOST’s final season to be simply a “season full of all the answers,” there would be no drama. So it is important that we are posed new questions (as in every season). However, let’s all hope that showrunners Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelhof won’t let this new reality run unanswered until the very last scene of the series. Especially when there are far more important matters at hand like, say, the nature and purpose of the Island.

Speaking of the Island – back on island, we got to see some more of Claire Littleton. All decked out in gear from www.shop-rousseau.com too. What I have gleaned from the “infection” so far is that it makes you bat-shit INSANE. Or, it at least appears that way based on Claire’s actions.

Actually, here is my best guess. Feel free to be-rate me with your comments below if you’ve got a better idea. But I think the show has been pretty clear about the” infection.” To be infected is, as Dogen said, to be claimed by the Dark Side of the Island/Nemisis/Man-in-Black/Locke Ness Monster (Terry O’Quinn). The darkness pulls all of your fears and doubts to the surface. Distrust of humanity is a keysymptom of infection.

Right now, the island is out of balance. The delicate balance of darkness and light has been shifted to the dark side. Just like Locke Ness casting the white stone into the sea (as seen in last week’s episode), Jacob’s demise has tipped the scale.  The murky waters of the Temple spring were caused by this shift. This is why Sayid (Naveen Andrews) is now infected.

What if ALL of the Others were infected at some point, and then re-claimed by Jacob. And how does Jacob turn the infected back? ROOM 23!

And I would bet half of my sex organ that Man in Black is, indeed, evil. All of this business out there about “Jacob is the evil one” is codswallop.

For now, we wait for Candidate #108 to arrive on the island. I would bet the other half of my sex organ on the identity of #108 as well, but perhaps I should not say it. Just in case, you know, well…look…I love my dick, okay?

Investigators have no suspects but are reviewing video surveillance tapes from a convenience store located nearby and sending images to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation lab for enhancement. They spent 15 hours at the scene, removing a back door from the church. While law enforcement have are keeping mum on a possible motive, or if they feel Daniels was specifically targeted, they did meet with local pastors on Wednesday and warned them to take security precautions. District Attorney Bret Burns did reveal why the meeting was just with clergy.

My condolences to the Daniels’ family. It’s one thing to lose a loved one to murder, but to then have the murderer use their body in some twisted mind fuck is pretty damned low. Jack Levin, a professor of sociology and criminology at Northeastern University in Boston, said that the body was more than likely staged because “the killer wants the notoriety,” Levin said. “He knows that by staging the victim’s body, that it will freak out a population of people, terrify them. He intends to do it again and wants credit for what he’s done.”

Investigators have also offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. A vigil to honor Pastor Daniels will be Friday at 7 p.m. at the Greater First Baptist Church of Anadarko, 502 E Washington. The public is welcome to attend. Daniels funeral will be at the Greater New Zion Baptist Church in Oklahoma City on Monday, August at 1 p.m.

The Kent County Medical Examiner is calling it a homicide but says the case is “Frustrating.” An autopsy leads investigators to believe she was murdered. There was no physical evidence on her, no signs of strangulation, no bruising and no gun shot wound. Her friends are nearly certain Jodi wouldn’t go to the cemetery on her own. Friend Ray McCann said, “she doesn’t like cemetery, even during the daytime she doesn’t like that.”

At a press conference on Saturday, assistant prosecuting attorney Holly Curtis said they are interested in a dark-colored pickup similar to a Ranger. “No matter how insignificant a person may think their information is, we want to hear from them,” Curtis said. Police also want information about a light-colored van. Someone driving a similar vehicle had been involved in recent reports of accosting children in the Cassopolis, Mattawan and Three Rivers areas.
