Abbott, 18, had gotten into a fight with his mother, and she’d called police on Sunday morning because Abbott was yelling about red and orange being “evil colors”, and he didn’t want them in her house. After being released from jail on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge on Monday morning, Jason Abbott decided to get even with the harbingers of the evil red and orange.
On Tuesday, Abbott went to his grandparents’ house in Sitka and got all stabby, killing four people and injuring another. Dead are Jason’s grandparents, John and Alice Abbott, aged 69 and 68. Also killed were Charles Tate, 37, and a female victim identified only as “E.A.” The survivor is a daughter of John and Alice Abbott, called “M.R.” in the police report. …

Largo, Florida - During a court appointed, supervised visit with her 15-year-old son, Celeste Grace Minardi, 55, pulled two knives from her purse and stabbed him multiple times.
Minardi was married to Gulfport City Attorney Timothy Driscoll until three years ago when they divorced. The teen lives with him. Since that time, Minardi has been allowed supervised visits with her 15-year-old son. For these three years, there has been no incidents. But the other day, while a nurse who was supervising typed on a PC just 6 feet away, Minardi went batshit crazy. PLACERVILLE, CA - Early last Saturday morning, Charles Anthony Bailey, 50, got mad. So he used an ax to attack his 34-year-old girlfriend Merrily Melson, and took off with their son, 2-year-old Andrew Bailey. He didn’t manage to kill Melson, and she was able to tell investigators what had happened, resulting in an Amber Alert being issued. A few hours later, Bailey was found at a gas station but little Andrew was nowhere to be found.
At about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Andrew Bailey’s tiny body was located in a trash can behind a Kmart store in Martell, California. And while details are still sketchy and the autopsy reports were not released, Bailey was accused in court Tuesday of using a screwdriver to kill his toddler son. …

UPDATE 12/11/08 – Erin Caffey’s murder trial has been moved to Hopkins County, Texas, in a change of venue from Rains County. Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty due to Erin’s age. Jury selection will begin February 2, 2009, with the trial set to start February 9.  Both Charles Allen Waid and Charlie James Wilkinson pled guilty last month to capital murder for their involvement in the killings of Erin’s mother and younger brothers.
