DALLAS — We got an email today from a longtime member who has a friend who has went missing. They have asked us to help get her story and picture out there which we are more than happy to oblige. Lisa Stone has not been heard from or seen since June 4th. Her purse and pets left at the home she has shared with her partner for 15 years. Stone, 51, is socially active and kept regular contact with her friends either by phone or online. Even more ominous is the fact that some of Stone’s personal belongings, things like photographs and her birth certificate, were found in a dumpster near her home. Her partner has refused to talk to the press and surprisingly, wasn’t the one who filed the missing person report – her friends did that. Dallas detectives are now looking into the case and as I type this while reading the Facebook page set up for her, the partner has been taken into custody. You can offer support or keep tabs on any new information (like the partner’s name) by visiting the Facebook Page Looking for Lisa Stone… help us find her!…
Continue ReadingPortland, OR – In last week’s update, I wrote that Kaine Horman took the child he has with Terri Horman and moved out of the house before filing for a divorce and a restraining order. Now we may know why. According to an article published by the Oregonian on Sunday, a landscaper who worked for Kyron’s family told detectives that Terri offered to pay him “a lot of money” to kill Kaine. The unnamed landscaper said Terri approached him with the murder-for-hire plot about six or seven months before Kyron disappeared. She described being in a bad marriage and claimed that Kaine had been unfaithful. The landscaper said he had no intentions of going through with the hit, but he truly believed Terri was dead serious. On June 26th, the landscaper, who is fully cooperating with authorities, was wired and a meeting with Terri and an undercover officer was set up. Unfortunately, Terri ended the conversation before anything incriminating was said. Later that same day, Kaine was informed of the plot and he wisely got the hell outta Dodge.…
Continue ReadingPortland, OR – I really wish I was updating this story to tell you all that Kyron has been found – sadly, that isn’t the case. I do, however, want to keep this story updated and continue to keep the kiddo’s picture circulating. Though family members and investigators have remained fairly tight-lipped throughout the investigation, there have been a couple of interesting new developments in the case. Kaine Horman, Kyron’s father, has taken the couple’s 18-month-old daughter and vacated the home he shares with Terri Horman, Kyron’s step-mother. And friends of the Horman family say authorities encouraged Kaine to do so. Furthermore, those same friends report that Kaine has filed for both a restraining order and a divorce. Terri Horman, reportedly the last person to see Kyron, has been under intense scrutiny since he vanished more than three weeks ago. Though she has not been named a suspect, or even a person of interest, she has been singled out in a questionnaire sent to parents and staff of Skyline school just days after Kyron disappeared.…
Continue ReadingFAIRFAX, Va. - Two teen girls have gone missing and the police no longer think they left on their own free will. A week ago 15-year-old Tram Hoang was spending the night with 16-year-old Tiffany Ghani at the Lillian Court apartment complex. The two girls snuck out of the apartment sometime around 10 p.m Friday night. Tiffany’s father woke up and discovered they were not in the apartment at around midnight. He ran out into the parking lot where he saw a young girl get into a dark car with two adult males inside. Police feel the other girl was already in the car. Tiffany’s father yelled for them to stop, but the car took off and no one has heard from the two girls since. They missed their final classes at George Marshall High School, their cell phones are no longer on, the took no clothes or money and friends and family have heard absolutely nothing from them. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477, e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187″ plus your message to CRIMES/274637 or call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.…
Continue ReadingHAYWARD, Calif. - Here is an odd one that may or may not be a crime at all. Police are only classifying the death of a postal worker as suspicious. A co-worker noticed the woman, who has not been identified, had not been seen for over an hour and her car was still in the parking lot. After searching for her around the post office, 911 was called at around 4:45 a.m. Police searched the woman’s home but did not find her there or any clues to her whereabouts. During their investigation, authorities realized that a dumpster at the location had been picked up before the woman had been reported missing. Officers made a trip to the Waste Management transfer center in San Leandro and began digging around the location the Dumpster would have been emptied. It was there the body of the woman was found within the garbage. Police are staying tight-lipped about the condition of the body declining to comment on any visible injuries. They did say that they were looking at surveillance footage and the coroner’s office would be conducting an autopsy this morning.…
Continue ReadingPortland, OR - Just before 8:00 Friday morning, 7-year-old Kyron Horman and his step-mother, Terri Horman, attended a science fair at Skyline Elementary School. Terri snapped a picture of Kyron standing in front of his red-eyed tree frog exhibit and the two wandered around for a bit looking at the other exhibits. At 8:45, Terri walked Kyron down the hall near his classroom. “I’m going back to the classroom, mom,” he told her. Terri waved good-bye and watched him walk down the hall. Kyron hasn’t been seen since. Nearly 8 hours passed before anyone even realized the child had vanished. Law enforcement was notified after Kyron failed to materialize at his bus stop at 3:30 that afternoon. That’s when they finally found out that Kyron hadn’t been in class all day long – members of the school staff said they never saw Kyron after the science fair, and he didn’t make it to his classroom. Portland Public Schools spokesman Matt Shelby says the Horman’s weren’t notified of the absence because Skyline doesn’t use an auto-dialer which calls parents to report the student is absent.…
Continue ReadingThere are many stories of strange disappearances/deaths and suicides in Rock music history. It’s a category reserved for a lot of musicians who often write songs of torturous love and anguish for emotions that have nowhere else to go but out into the world as songs. Nick Drake, Ian Curtis, Matthew Jay, Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith just to name a few. Then there is that of Richey Edwards of Manic Street Preachers. They are a band which I’m sure a lot of people may not have heard of, especially if you’re not a 90s Alternative geek. Manic Street Preachers was a Welsh band who broke out onto the Alternative music scene in the early 90s. They came out of the Cardiff music scene best known for acts like Super Furry Animals and more recently for crafting a harder edged sound from bands such as Bullet For My Valentine and Lostprophets. They formed in 1986 but did not release their first full length album until 1992. Wikipedia describes their debut album, Generation Terrorists as a “combination of androgynous glam punk imagery, outspoken invective and songs about culture, alienation, boredom and despair.”…
Continue ReadingCanada – In 2008, Dustin LaFortune, 26, moved to Calgary from Winnipeg to work at a moving company owned by the man he would be living with. Things seemed ok for a while, but it wasn’t long before family and friends were getting some disturbing information. Dustin’s ex-girlfriend said Dustin told her that his roommate was controlling and only allowed him to eat one meal a day. In September 2009, LaFortune was taken to the hospital with broken ribs that he said was the result of a freezer that had fell on him. A neighbor stated he asked LaFortune about some facial injuries and he said a big filing cabinet fell on his face. In February of 2010, LaFortune disappeared. His family setup a Facebook group to try and get help, to no avail. On April 16th, LaFortune was dropped off at a hospital by a man claiming he was his cousin. LaFortune was unrecognizable and near death. He weighed 90 lbs, parts of his lips and tongue were cut off, his face was smashed in, he had broken ribs, and an assortment of burn marks and stabs.…
Continue ReadingGLENDALE, California – No charges will be filed against 22-year-old Nancy Salas who faked her own kidnapping the other day. She disappeared on Wednesday after leaving her parent’s home on a morning run, only to re-surface on Thursday 250 miles away in Merced. She told everyone she had been kidnapped at knife-point. It was later determined she was lying and had fabricated the entire event because she did not want friends and family to know she had not been attending UCLA for the last two years even though she had been acting like she was. She stuck with her kidnapping story until she was made aware that police had not only figured out she was lying about being kidnapped, but that they had discovered her UCLA status. “Up until that point, she had no idea the extent of the search that was going on,” Sergeant Lorenz said. “Nor did she have any idea that our investigators had unraveled the facade that she kept up for two years.”But even though she will not be charged with making a false report – Merced police never actually took a report instead notifying Glendale investigators – the city attorney’s office may still seek the $10,000 it spent on law enforcement overtime pay, helicopter fuel, and other costs involved in her search.…
Continue ReadingWINTER SPRINGS, Fla. - I didn’t post this story about 11-year-old Nadia Bloom, an autistic girl that went missing last Friday, because at the time it seemed as if she had simply wandered off into some woods. It didn’t seem as if any foul play was involved, and I figured she would be found fairly quickly. But that was three days ago and this girl is reportedly lost in is 3,000 acres populated with waist-high mud, ponds, and alligators. Acting on info from Nadia’s sister, police believe she went into the woods after reading or writing a story on wilderness exploration. Investigators have also began a criminal investigation and have paid a visit to all sex offenders in the area. To add insult to injury, Cindy and George Anthony showed up at the gated community Bloom’s family resides to get on the news lend their support. Thankfully, going by some comments left by neighbors, they were asked to leave. Can’t blame ‘em. If my kid went missing in some woods, I’d rather have vultures circling the area than have the Anthonys show up.…
Continue ReadingMemphis – This is some crazy shit right out of a bad movie. A mother of five went missing back in January and it turns out that for the last few months, her dead body had been hidden in the metal box frame of a bed in the motel room she had been living. Sony Millbrook had been reported missing back on January 27th after she failed to pick her kids up from school. Police began an initial investigation, but in the meantime Millbrook’s belongings were boxed up and the room at the Budget Inn rented back out at least five times since then. It wasn’t until this past Monday that police were called after employees began investigating a foul odor and discovered Millbrook’s corpse hidden in the bed. Police say it is apparent that she was the victim of a homicide, but have not released the cause of death. Her boyfriend, LaKeith Moody, was questioned early on and has been in jail ever since on a federal gun charge. He is a person of interest in Millbrook’s death.…
Continue ReadingUPDATE 3/9/10 – New Orleans police have confirmed that a body pulled from the Mississippi River earlier today is that of Douglas Schantz. It is believed he accidentally drowned.
NEW ORLEANS – I grew up in south Louisiana, so even as I stand at my kitchen window to look out on the still-melting snow of my Midwestern back yard, any mention of the area around New Orleans makes me break out in a sweat, curse the humidity, and hear endless frog-song. Yes, I have a love-hate thing with that part of the country, but in no instance do I want to run my eyes over any Louisiana-based news story that includes the suggestion that “Foul play is suspected,” but this is one of them. 54-year-old Douglas Schantz, head of Houston-based Sequent Energy Management, was last seen about 2:00 a.m. Friday on Bourbon Street, clad in suit jacket and tie, by colleagues who had accompanied him to a ceremony marking a donation to Tulane University’s energy graduate program. Concern arose when Schantz failed to make his expected Friday morning meeting at the airport with with daughter, failed to show up for a noon staff meeting, and was later reported by his wife as having not returned home.…
Continue ReadingBoston – I had totally forgotten about this story. Back in October we covered the story of 17-year-old Taylor Meyer. She is the teen who went missing after drinking at a party and at an abandoned airport. When she told friends she was walking home, they jokingly directed her to a swampy area. Her body was found later where she had drowned in that swampy area, her blood-alcohol level at 0.13. Kathi Meyer announced on Wednesday that she has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against six of her daughter’s friends as well as a parent who provided alcohol on the night of Taylor’s death. She states that she does not feel that they have learned from the tragedy. “Nobody forced her to drink that alcohol,’’ Meyer said yesterday about her daughter, Taylor Meyer. “Taylor is absolutely 100 percent responsible.’’ But she also feels that the others who allowed it, and participated in it, should be held accountable as well. The seven people named in the lawsuit are Taylor Meyer’s friends from King Philip Regional High School, a Wrentham mother who allegedly let Meyer drink in her house, and two adults who provided alcohol to Meyer.…

Continue ReadingTWIN FALLS, Idaho – Alan Jansen’s work has him traveling a lot and away from his home. Around Halloween, he began to notice maggots in his kitchen. So over the next few weeks he began cleaning, only to return home and find more maggots. After finding some in his light fixtures, he deciding that the source of his maggot infestation must be coming from the attic and decided to go investigate. He climbed the exterior staircase to the attic, opened the door, and knew he had found the source of the problem. For one, it smelled like shit. Second, there was a dead body of a man curled up on the floor. The body was of 45-year-old Dennis Crossman, a mentally challenged man known to walk the neighborhood and reported missing in October. No one knows why Crossman was in the attic but no evidence of foul play has been discovered. The most foul, disgusting thing I have ever found in my house was a chick I had brought home the night before.…
Continue ReadingMother Of Shaniya Davis Arrested On Human Trafficking Charges
November 16, 2009 at 2:57 am by MorbidFayetteville, North Carolina - I’m sure a lot of you have already read about this, but over the weekend the mother of missing five-year-old Shaniya Davis was arrested. Antoinette Davis has been charged with human trafficking, felony child abuse, prostitution, filing a false police report, and resisting, delaying, or obstructing police. Davis is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $51,000 secured bond. Police say that the little girl was sold into prostitution by her mother. They say that 25-year-old Davis allowed her daughter to be taken “with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude.” The charge came after the arrest of 29-year-old Mario Andrette McNeill. Police said McNeill can be seen on surveillance video at a Sanford Comfort Inn showing him carrying Shaniya Davis towards an elevator early Tuesday morning – before Davis reported her daughter missing. Shaniya is still the subject of a nation wide Amber Alert and what all of this info implies is absolutely horrific. I am having a hard time wrapping my brain around it.…
Continue ReadingChipley, FL – There’s a baby girl missing – her name is Shannon Dedrick. She’s 7 months old, has brown hair and blue eyes, is 2 feet tall, and weighs about 11 pounds. It has been reported that Shannon may have a growth development problem – a problem that would explain her larger than normal head. Shannon’s parents, whom police aren’t naming, reported her missing Saturday at 11:23 a.m. It is believed that Shannon disappeared from her parent’s bedroom, where they were sleeping, between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Mom and dad went to bed at 3 and woke up at 11 and baby girl was missing. From their bedroom. Where they were sleeping. Maybe I’ve been hanging out at the Dreamin’ Demon too long, cause that sure as shit sounds kinda hinky. …
Continue ReadingThis one probably wont end well, but let’s keep our fingers crossed. 20- year-old Afton Williamson, 18-year-old Kyrstin Gemar and 19-year-old Ashley Neufeld – all three DSU Softball players – went missing while driving in southwestern North Dakota to stargaze Sunday night. A friend called police alerting them to a couple of disturbing phone calls she had received from one of the girls. The calls included “hysterical noises” and the mention of water before the line went dead. The cell phone call came through a tower five miles northwest of Dickinson. All three had cell phones, but they all now go to voicemail. Authorities have searched Patterson Lake along with other bodies of water in the Dickinson area. The girls were in a White 1997 Jeep Cherokee with California License plate 3UBN521. If you have any information on where the girls are or if you see the white Jeep contact the Stark County Sheriffs Department at 456-7610.…
Continue ReadingSARATOGA SPRINGS, New York – The remains of 18-year-old Jennifer Hammond were found in a heavily wooded near the Edinburg/Greenfield town line. Missing since 2003, Hammond was last seen at the Creek and Pines Trailer Park in Ballston Spa selling magazines door-to-door. The teen had a history of running away, but had a bus ticket back to her home state of Colorado. The ticket was never picked up, and her belongings were left in a hotel room. So now that the “where is Hammond” question has been answered, investigators will move on to figuring out how she died. But there may be more to this. Her death shares similarities with another teen found dead in the area — 19-year-old Christina White.…

The body had been placed in the dryer after he was killed.
