Detroit – On August 1st, 2009, 24-year-old Trisha Babcock was sitting in a parked car when she was approached by a man with a gun who intended to rob her. A struggle insued and Babcock was shot in the chest, her purse stolen. She would later die in the hospital, but a fingerprint on the windo of the car would lead police to the shooter. 12-year-old DeMarco Harris. He was charged with felony murder, armed robbery, having a firearm during a felony and violating curfew. Under Michigan law, he could not be tried as an adult, but prosecutors filed the case with an adult designation – meaning the judge can impose an adult sentence if they want. Yesterday, Judge Sheila Gibson sentenced Harris to juvenile detention until he turns 21. At that time he will be re-evaluated by the court and a decision will be made on whether he goes free without serving any prison time for murdering a woman in cold blood or will serve the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.…

Louisville, KY - I know Morbid had this one in yesterday’s Daily Bites, but I felt the douchebags deserved an entire write-up. According to police, Camron Mosby, 3, found himself in the middle of a heated argument between his mother and her boyfriend(?) late Tuesday night and paid a heavy price for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It’s been reported that LaQuisha Mosby, 28, and Shawn Martin, 34, were involved in some sort of domestic altercation when a .45 caliber gun was brought into the mix. A single shot was fired and pierced Camron’s shoulder. The bullet exited his body and then ricocheted back into his side. Rather than dialing 911 immediately, LaQuisha and Shawn reportedly spent the next two hours attempting to hide the evidence. According to police, LaQuisha made sure Shawn fled the scene before an ambulance was called. Awww…she didn’t want her man to get in trouble. How fucking sweet! An anonymous tipster did what LaQuisha should have done in the first place and alerted authorities to Shawn’s location.…

Zachary Bowers Is Obedient

June 14, 2010 at 4:57 am by

Independence, AR - The handsome young devil you see to the left is Zachary Bowers. Zachary just celebrated his 23rd birthday last Thursday, but instead of ice cream and cake, he was presented with a murder charge. Happy Birthday, Zachary! He apparently has one of those ‘instant asshole’ type personalities – all you gotta do is add alcohol. According to authorities, Zachary had been knockin’ back the vodka on June 7, and got in a heated verbal argument with his father, 54-year-old David Bowers. Though it was well known that Zachary was often violent and combative when under the influence of alcohol, the elder Bowers reportedly threw his .40-caliber Smith & Wesson at his son and dared him to shoot. Hmmm…probably not one of your better ideas, dad. Ever the obedient son, Zachary fired. David Bowers died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Zachary fled the scene after the shooting, but officers caught up with him a couple days later. Charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, he sits behind bars on $500,000 bond.…

Hollywood, Fla – Back in April, 11-year-old Jeff Dilworth and his best friend 13-year-old Daniel Torres were messing around with a gun they found in the nightstand of Dilworth’s mother. Thinking that it was empty, Dilworth pulled the trigger on the 9mm and accidentally shot his best friend in the head, killing him. Now it has been announced that Dilworth will be charged as an adult facing manslaughter charges. He is facing 30 year in prison. His mother, 50-year-old Shari Edwards, is facing up to five years in prison on culpable negligence charges. Both mother and son turned themselves in, arriving at the courthouse holding hands, and were both jailed.  I’m not surprised by the charges against the mother, as she showed irresponsibility as a gun owner and had she followed the law, this accident probably would have never happened. But the adult charge against Dilworth does surprise me. This was clearly an accident, a result of two boys playing with a loaded handgun. You can listen to the 911 call made by Dilworth immediately after he shot his friend and hear almost every emotion that can possibly come out of a young teen who just accidentally shot his best friend.…

Daily Bites

June 8, 2010 at 4:35 pm by
  • Sorry I bailed on yesterday’s Daily Bites but the girl I am currently having sex with found the hidden camera I use to record our lovemaking sessions. I explained to her that it wasn’t for my personal gratification, but evidence to prove I didn’t rape her. Needless to say she, over-reacted. Women, pshh. I told her she could deal with it or I would send her back to Vietnam to live with her family in their hut. Anyway, I just took a quick glance in the forums and here are a few stories our members are interested in and a few I was keeping an eye on:
  • Dakota Valkyrie posted a crazy story about a woman who attacked a pregnant acquaintance with a stun gun. Christine Devaux was lying in wait wearing a surgical cap with her hair tucked inside and wearing cloth gloves, the affidavit said. When she struck the victim with the Taser, the victim fell to the floor, and was shocked again and again, according to the account in the affidavit.

Bridgeport, Conn. - Jeffrey Parlemon, 21, was killed the other day after getting into an argument with a fellow motorist. Parlemon was not happy that the other driver had stopped short at a yellow light. I feel for Parlemon in that regard as drivers who do that make me wish I had one of those cow scoops you see attached to trains in those old West pictures. Words were exchanged between the two – an activity I partake in fairly regularly while in traffic – but Parlemon made a couple really dumb decisions and took it a bit too far. His first mistake was that him and his friends decided to go looking for the other driver at his home, but he was not there. The second mistake was Parlemon’s decision to brandish a BB gun while confronting a man who was at the home. You always have to take into account that the person you are threatening with a fake gun has a real one. Like in this case. Fearing for his life, the man shot Parlemon, the bullet striking him in the hip.…

A truly horrific story of an African-American man whose dead body was dragged with a rope for more than 10 miles behind a truck. According to police, the victim, 30-year old Anthony Hill, died from a single gunshot wound to the head and was apparently dead before his body was dragged and mangled. Deputies followed a 10-mile trail of blood and gore left on several roads leading to the rural home of Gregory Collins of Newberry County. For three hours, Collins refused to come out of his home. A SLED SWAT team finally fired tear gas into the home, forcing Collins to surrender. He was arrested and charged with murder. This story reminded me of a documentary I watched quite a few years back of another African-American man who was walking home one night when some assholes decided to end his life. But unlike Hill, that victim was dragged to his death. For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the guy this morning, but I do remember the investigators describing and showing the images of the trail left behind on the paved road.…

D’D member Whisperswing posted a heartbreaking story of Michael Berry, a man who pulled up next to his ex-wife’s car and fired five shots through the front windshield killing her. Four children, ages 3-13, who were also inside the car with their mother at the time were not physically harmed. It is believed Berry had been stalking his ex-wife and after Berry’s repeated arrests and restraining orders against him, nothing seemed to keep him away from his ex-wife. Get Off My Lawn!

May 12, 2010 at 11:39 am by

Chicago, IL – Charles Clements is a man who loves his lawn. Ok, the love borders on the slightly psychotic obsessive side. According to neighbors, Clements once won some sort of beautification and lawn upkeep award and was known to threaten those who dare step foot on his precious lawn. Last Sunday evening, threat became reality after Joshua Funches’ fox terrier, Gucci, lifted its leg and pissed on said lawn. After a verbal argument between the two men, Clements pulled a gun. According to witnesses, Funches remarked, Next time you pull out a pistol, why don’t you use it?” BANG! Funches was shot dead. Clements, a former Marine, then walked into his house and changed clothes. When the cops showed up, Clements was waiting for them in his garage. “I knew you were coming for me,” he told police. “That’s why I changed my clothes. I knew you were coming for me.” Clements, 69, was ordered held on $3 million bail and is looking at charges of first- and second-degree murder.…

Charlotte, NC- A 3rd-grade student at University Meadows Elementary School accidentally fired a gun that he had hidden in his desk. Luckily no one was hurt even thought the bullet went through the desk and lodged into a wall. Last night police reported that they have charged the student with possession of weapon on school grounds and placed him in a juvenile detention center. But he isn’t the only one who may be in some trouble. Police would like to know where the boy, who lives with his father and grandfather, got his hands on the small revolver. The grandfather admits that he owns guns, but the one involved in the incident was not his. The boy’s father is an ex-con on probation and isn’t legally allowed to possess a gun. In the video report you can watch after the break, one student says the boy showed him the gun and that he thought “he was gonna hurt somebody with it”. Sources told WBTV that the boy brought the gun to school because other classmates were bullying him.…

Man Commits Suicide, Kills Wife

May 12, 2010 at 8:46 am by

Wichita, KS – When police were called to the home of Gene and Betty Whitmore Sunday afternoon, they first thought they would be investigating a murder-suicide by gunshot. Since Betty, 66, had been experiencing health problems recently, it was safe to assume her husband Gene, 70, killed her before turning the gun on himself. As it turns out, Gene was intent on the suicide part, but Betty’s death may have been a truly bizarre accident. According to investigators, the bullet from Gene’s gun passed through his head from right to left and struck Betty’s head, killing her as she slept. Their bodies were found two to three feet apart on their bed. Police say there were no outward signs that indicated Gene intended to injure his wife. “I have never worked one like this before,” Lt. Ken Landwehr said. The bodies were discovered by a step-daughter at about 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Police believe the shooting occurred at about 4:00 that morning, and though there were other family members in the home at the time, no one heard a thing.…

Winter Haven, Florida – Hospital workers in Winter Haven Hospital’s medical surgery unit heard gunshots coming from the 5th floor room of  76-year-old Patricia Duckworth. When they made their way into the room they found her dead from a gunshot wound and her husband, 77-year-old Raymon Duckworth dead after having turned a gun on himself. Patricia was in the hospital being treated for a stroke she suffered a month ago, and Raymon had been driving to visit her everyday. “Everybody here, our whole staff, we’re obviously shaken. Our hearts go out to the family members that are affected here. It’s just a tragedy,” the hospital’s vice president, Joel Thomas said. Understandably, the couple’s family has not made a comment at this time. You know what? I am always conflicted with these types of stories. We have no idea what these two may have talked about in regards to this exact situation, or the course of action they may have agreed to. If these two have been married the majority of their lives, and Patricia’s medical condition had left her in a irreversible state she never wanted to be in, then I sympathize with Raymon and the decision he made.…

Warsaw, Ind. – I had to spend my Friday off replacing corroded freeze plugs in a Jeep Cherokee. There were times during this replacement that I wanted to punch the designer of the engine in the mouth. Anyway, it kept me from posting a few stories so I am making up for it now. Starting with 15-year-old Cody Lundy and 12-year-old Paul Gingerich. You may have heard of this already, but the two boys found out Friday morning that they will be going to adult court for the murder of Lundy’s step-father, 49-year-old Phillip Danner. A third boy, 12-year-old Chase Williams, will not be facing the same fate as he did not pull a trigger, but rather served as a lookout. A fourth boy has not been charged, but that may change. Prosecutors allege the three boys planned the murder of Danner for weeks, with Lundy and Gingerich each firing a shot into him at his home. A probation officer testified in court on Friday that the boys would be better re-habilitated if charged as adults because if they were to be placed into a juvenile facility, state law demands they be released at the age of 18.…

Knoxville – At around 4:30 yesterday afternoon a black male opened fire outside of the patient discharge doors of Parkwest Medical Center, killing one female and injuring two others. Rachel Wattenbarger, 40, died from her injuries while Nancy Chancellor, 32, and Ariane Reagan Gueran, 26 were admitted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The shooter also died at the scene, a victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His identity has not been released, but police have stated that he was possibly a former employee. Police put the facility on lockdown and have since stated that there were no other shooters involved. Both surviving women are expected to recover and both of their families have released statements thanking everyone for their concerns. If I am up to it, I’ll add more details once they become available.…

Milwaukee - Last July, 19-year-old Seandell Jackson and 20-year-old Derek Thomas attempted to rob 21-year-old University of Milwaukee film student, Nathan Potter as he entered his apartment and ended up shooting him to death. Jackson was later caught, charged and convicted in February of first degree intentional homicide and attempted robbery, thanks in part to his uncle tipping off police to his whereabouts. During the trial Jackson consistently smirked at the Potter family who were in attendance – sometimes even laughing at them and prompting Potter’s father, John Potter to asking the Judge Rebecca Dallet, “Is there such a thing as pure evil?” But Jackson wasn’t laughing this last Friday during his sentencing. After he begged Dallet not to take his life from him, she answered by sentencing him to life behind bars with no possibility of parole. Jackson began crying like a bitch and threw a tantrum that led to deputies  throwing him to the ground and hitting him with a bit of liquid hell before removing him from the courtroom.…

Granite Falls, WA - In July of last year, I did a fantastical write-up on Deborah Parker – a woman who killed her lover the “Dirty Cowboy” way. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, I’m just as lost as you. Parker explained to authorities that the Dirty Cowboy had something to do with utilizing a loaded gun while commencing in foreplay. I didn’t Google the term back then and I ain’t about to do it now – that is just way too much sexy for me. Anyway, if you had told me back then that I would come across yet another story in which a person was killed in a similar manner, I would’ve punched you in your throat and kicked you in the shin. Then I would’ve pointed, laughed and called you names. But in the end, I’d have looked like the fool, because wouldn’t you know it, we have a similar shooting. Well, kinda. Modesto Cruz Mejia, 25, is under investigation for shooting his girlfriend with the gun they had utilized in their pre-nookie funtime after the nookie had commenced.…

Columbus, OH – When 19-year-old Danielle Pickens showed up at her cousin Evelyn’s house for Easter dinner wearing short jean shorts and a midriff baring t-shirt, Evelyn came straight the fuck unglued. According to her, Danielle’s outfit was “inappropriate and disrespectful” to wear to Easter dinner. But, according to family members, Evelyn started getting all worked up only after she noticed that her husband noticed Danielle’s revealing outfit. Hmmmm. A fight ensued, with Evelyn accusing Danielle of “flaunting her body,” and for a time, the two struggled over a baseball bat. Danielle’s sister broke up the fight and escorted Danielle out of the house and into her car. As the two were settling into the car, Evelyn stormed out of the house with a gun, pulled Danielle out of the vehicle by her hair and shot her once in the head. She then walked back into the house, told everyone what she did and calmly called the police. …

McHenry, MS- Easter at the Sexton home this year was a tad different than most. When a dispute erupted between Samuel Sexton, 57, and his son, Andrew, that morning, Samuel went outside with a shotgun and shot at his son. Not wanting to stick around for any more Easter surprises, Andrew hopped in a friend’s car and left. Police arrived at the scene and, fearing Andrew may have been seriously hurt, they told area hospitals to be on alert. After a few hours, one of Andrew’s friends who had been present at the time of the shooting was able to reach him by cell phone. Andrew told the friend that he was okay and his injuries  were minor. Andrew refused to return home to answer deputies’ questions because he is on probation. While the officers were walking around the home looking for blood spatters, they discovered some shake bottles in the garbage can related to meth. After a search, a meth lab was found on the property. Samuel Wayne Sexton was arrested for pulling a shotgun on his son and pulling the trigger.…

Keith Luke Still Doing It Wrong

April 1, 2010 at 1:12 pm by

Brockton, MA - Most of you readers probably remember Keith Luke from the mughsot alone. It is one of the scarier mugshots to grace the pages of D’D. Last year we wrote up an article on Luke after he began a day of terror starting with the rape of his neighbor and murdering her sister. Afterwards he shot a 72-year-old homeless man to death. He was captured after a police chase in which he crashed his van. His motive? At the time he told police that he was a white supremacist and that he had planned to go out and kill as many non-white folks as he could find that day – hopefully capping things off with a Jewish synagogue massacre. This January, Luke attacked Dr. Keith Ablow, who was examining him at the prison and had been hired to help in Luke’s insanity defense. Well it looks like Luke proved he is not as good at carving his neck as he is at carving swastikas in his forehead. Early this morning, Luke was found in his cell with self-inflicted slash wounds to his neck.…

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – On Wednesday morning, 911 recieved a call from a man claiming he had just shot and killed one of his two sons. When police arrived at the home in an upscale, gated community they found the dead bodies of 5-year-old Alec Leteve and his 15-month-old brother, Asher Leteve. Also in the home was their father, 39-year-old Andre Leteve. He was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators have now learned that Leteve was in the middle of nasty divorce and child custody proceedings with his wife. She was not at the scene at the time of the shootings but was greeted by crisis counselors when she got there. Once released from the hospital, police will arrest Andre Leteve and charge him with the murder of his sons.…
