Monroe, New York – Police have possibly thwarted a 15-yer-old boy’s plan to attack Monroe-Woodbury High School on the anniversary of the 1999 Columbine School shootings. Police arrested the teen on Monday after police executed a search warrant at his residence and found four bottles filled with gasoline, a torch, machete, black trench coat, three propane tanks, two computers, items that could be used as fuses and several other electronic devices. The teen had actively been seeking a military assault-type weapon that could “hold as many rounds as possible.” He admitted to his plan in a police interview, nonchalantly explaining what he intended to do. “He said that he had a lot of hatred toward a lot of the kids who attend that school,” a Monroe Police Department press release said. He stated he had been bullied by students and had been told that he resembled Columbine shooter Eric Harris. His parents were clueless of his motives, or the materials located in the garage. Beason, Illinois – I wasn’t going to post this as everyone is already covering it and we already had an asshole who killed his family this week. But since they have not arrested anyone and are still asking for tips, what the hell. Raymond “Rick” Gee, 46, his wife, Ruth Gee, 39, and three of their children, Justina Constant, 16, Dillen Constant, 14, and Austin Gee, 11, were found dead Monday afternoon in their home. 3-year-old Tabitha Gee, remains in critical but stable condition at a Peoria hospital. Coroner reports state that they were all beaten to death. Police are interested in a primer/gray Chevrolet S-10 or Ford Ranger-type of pickup that was seen in the area. Memphis, TN – I stole the title from a local news stations site (as seen above), but I added the chainsaw part because it made a standard, asinine headline sound cooler. Anyway, we got a bunch of dead people in a home. Memphis firefighters responded to a 911 call at a home at 722 Lester at 6:11 p.m. Monday. Nine people, adults and children, were found in one room in the house. Six of those nine people are dead. Four of the adults were dead from gunshot wounds, while two children were found stabbed to death.

UPDATE 2/15/08 – Five victims and the shooter are dead; sixteen others are injured for a total of 22 shot.  The dead have been identified: Daniel Parmenter, 20; Catalina Garcia, 20; Ryanne Mace, 19; Julianna Gehant, 32, and Gayle Dubowski, 20. The shooter has been identified as 27-year-old former student Steven P. Kazmierczak.

DeKalb, IL – In a developing story today, the student body at Northern Illinois University did not have Valentine’s Day as planned. At about 3:04 p.m. Central time on Thursday, Steven Kazmierczak kicked in the door of a lecture hall at Cole Hall on campus. Kazmierczak, 27, stepped out onto the stage at the front of the auditorium, pulled out a shotgun, and started shooting into the middle of a class of over 100 students.

Five victims are now reported to have died from gunshot wounds.  Sixteen other victims are wounded, mostly with gunshots to the head and chest.  Four victims died at the scene and two died later at a hospital. Kazmierczak, a former sociology graduate student at the university, is also dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. [Read more...]

Carnation, Wash - Six people have been found dead in a home on Wednesday. In all, deputies found Wayne Scott Anderson, 60, a Boeing engineer, and postal worker Judy Anderson, 61, at whose home the shootings occurred; Scott Anderson, Michele’s brother; his wife, Erica; and their two children, 6-year-old Olivia and 3-year-old Nathan. They suffered traumatic injuries. The house is isolated in a rural area. A friend of the family discovered the bodies around 8 a.m. and then called 911. He had went to the house when one of theoccupants did not show up for work. Police say the occupants may have been dead since Christmas Eve.

I’ll update this as more information becomes available, but it is being reported that the authorities have ruled out murder-suicide and yet announced that there was no threat to the community.

Police have arrested a man and woman in connection with the deaths of six people. Deputies arrested Joseph Thomas McEnroe and Michele Kristen Anderson, both 29. Michele is the daughter of Wayne and Judy. Relatives state she lived in  a trailer on the property. [Read more...]
