Ann Arbor, Michigan - Not a lot of details on this one, but authorities have reported a 42-year-old man knocked his wife unconscious with a pineapple during an argument inside the couple’s home.
Police say the 32-year-old woman checked into the University of Michigan Hospital last Friday night, but hasn’t been cooperating with their investigation. She is only giving them basic information and no details regarding the fight or what prompted it.
Hospital staff, who notified police of the assault, are also the ones who informed police that they believed the woman had been struck by the fruit.
Police did find evidence of a fight in the couple’s home and have asked the Washtenaw Count prosecutor’s office to review a request for an arrest warrant for the husband. No word on if the couple have a history of violence.…

New Haven, CT - Michael Wallace, 40, was arrested Saturday after continuously pounding his wife with a six-pack of beer and a coffee pot.
Police officers were dispatched to the couple’s home after receiving a complaint of domestic violence. Wallace’s common law wife, Chastiny Atkinson, had several visible bruises from the attack.
Atkinson confirmed that Wallace was intoxicated when he began arguing with her over “two dudes that don’t even exist.” He was unsatisfied with the damage caused by the coffee pot he started beating her with so he proceeded to pick up a six-pack of beer and began beating her with that as well.
He then ripped hair from her head and began choking her. Before fleeing the scene, Wallace warned her that if she called the police, he would seek retribution. Police were called back to the scene two hours later after a report that Wallace was trying to enter the home. Wallace was located in his car several blocks away.
His side of the story is a little different than Atkinson’s.…

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating an apparent murder suicide in which a man shot his estranged wife in a car before shooting himself, while the couple’s three young sons sat in the back seat.
On Tuesday, police found 24-year-old Alyshia Alexander and 25-year-old Jedidiah Alexander dead from gunshot wounds in what appeared to be a murder-suicide as they sat in the front seat of a car. In the back seat, covered in blood and covering their ears, they found the couple’s three young children.
Jedidiah and Alyshia got married in 2009, but the relationship was troubled and plagued with domestic abuse according to relatives and court records. The couple eventually separated, but Alyshia continued to let Jedediah see his boys. That Tuesday, she had driven to Jedidiah’s mother’s house to let the boys visit their father.
The three boys, 3-year-old Jedidiah, 2-year-old Jerimiah, and 1-year-old Jaedin, were not physically harmed and our currently staying with their maternal grandmother.
“They think that they’re just spending some time at Nana’s house. But eventually I’m going to have to deal with when they ask, ‘Where’s Mommy?’ I’m going to have to tell them,” Bridget Mitchell said.…

Elyria, OH – Ameryst Blaylock, 26, made her first court appearance Monday to answer to charges of felonious assault and domestic violence after police say she bit off a portion of her husband’s lip during an argument earlier this month.
According to court documents, Ameryst and her husband Thomas had been involved in some sort of verbal altercation in the early morning hours of March 9, when the woman went all pit bull on him and attempted to chew off his face.
Ameryst allegedly socked her hubby in the face before declaring that if he didn’t want her anymore, she’d make damn sure no one would ever want him again. With that, she pounced on him, bit off the right side of his lower lip and spit it out.
Hubby hightailed it to the ER, sans lip. Unfortunately for him, the injury was too extensive for the lip to be reattached, so police just tossed the chunk of face meat after recovering it from the couple’s home.
In court, Thomas Blaylock claimed he is in no danger and asked the judge to lift a no-contact order so he and his “loving” wife could attend marriage counseling.…

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – A man is in jail after a fight with his girlfriend involved him biting one of her kids and punching the other.
Police say a fight broke out between 41-year-old Edward Critten and his girlfriend over the condition of the apartment they were living in. A television was broken during the fight and the two got into a physical altercation.
When the woman’s two boys, ages 9 and 11, ran out to defend her, Critten turned on them as well.
“It was at that time that the suspect bit the 11-year-old’s chest and then punched the 9-year-old in the chest,” said Capt. Corey MacDonald with the Portsmouth Police Department.
One of the boys ran to a neighbor to have them call 911. When police arrived, they found the 11-year-old had fallen down a flight of stairs during the argument and had to be taken to the hospital.
Critten was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, two counts of simple assault and one count of criminal mischief. Not surprisingly, he has a lengthy criminal history that includes charges of possession of controlled substances and possession of a deadly weapon.…

Spartanburg, SC - Divorce is a difficult pill to swallow, and some stubborn folks just won’t swallow that pill.
Meet the beguiling 38-year-old Stacy Splawn. Knowing that Prince Charming must be awaiting her beauty and charm to be released from the binds of marriage, she asked her husband for a divorce.
Being a good Christian, Douglas Splawn told her that their vows were “till death do we part” and that he declined to take part in the sin of marriage dissolution. He thought her response of “That’ll be sooner than you think” was a little curious, but the dedicated fellow continued with his husbandly duties (gag!).
He happened upon a syringe and vial of medication which was labeled succinylcholine in Stacy’s eyeglass case on the nightstand. The warning label about surgical use, death and paralysis on the vial prompted him to hide the medication and fill the syringe with water. Later, while lying in bed and discussing their marital issues, Douglas asked her about the medication. He told her that he had filled the syringe with the paralyzing agent and thrown the bottle away.…

FORT LEE, N.J. – Police in New Jersey have arrested a man, accusing him of murdering his girlfriend by repeatedly running her over with his car.
Charles Ann, 26, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after police say he repeatedly ran over his girlfriend of one year, 25-year-old Aena Hong. She and Ann had been walking and arguing just before the incident, apparently over Hong wanting to end their relationship.
Ann allegedly got into his 2011 Hyundai Sonata and intentionally ran Hong down as she crossed the road. Not quite finished, he put the car in reverse and backed over her body before driving forward over Hong again. He did this approximately three more times before fleeing the scene.
Hong was rushed to the hospital but would die from her injuries. Ann was later found hiding at a friends house where he was arrested. The coward had a large amount of cash and his passport with him when he was caught.…

Cincinnati, OH — A 60-year-old man was taken into custody over the weekend after police say he assaulted his girlfriend so severely one of her breast implants exploded.
The 52-year-old victim reportedly told police that while arguing with her boyfriend Sunday morning, she was punched in the face several times and choked. Once she was down, the boyfriend, Samuel Cole, stomped on her left breast with enough force to damage the implant, causing serious injury.
In addition, police say Cole placed his hand over the woman’s nose and mouth in an attempt to suffocate her, releasing her only after she had passed out.
Cole then transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment, but threatened to knock the crap out of her again if she told medical personnel about the alleged assault.
Hospital staff contacted police and Cole was arrested on charges of felonious assault. He’s been ordered held on $50,000 bond.

Cincinnati, OH — Kierra Reed, 22, was taken into custody late Tuesday after apparently threatening to poke a few holes in her boyfriend because he neglected to buy her a Valentine’s Day gift.
While arguing with the boyfriend about his negligence, Reed began pushing and scratching the man. So much so, police say, the man beat a hasty retreat to the bathroom and locked the door.
Incensed, Reed then retrieved a knife from the kitchen and began stabbing the bathroom door, threatening to cut him. Fortunately, the door held and the man was left with all of his man parts. He may have needed a change of underwear, though…

Cambridge, OH – Jamial Bayly, 40, was arrested this week after police say he tossed a 3-year-old child in a clothes dryer and turned it on.
Police learned of the incident after responding to the home on a well-being check. And, according to one source, the child was still in the dryer when deputies entered the home. Another source, though, claims Bayly admitted to having placed the kid in the dryer earlier that day. Either way, the kid was supposedly tumbled at some point.
No word on how long the kid was fluffed, but police were unable to find any visible injuries. Police say the toddler was released to his mother, who wasn’t home when deputies arrived.
Bayly was arrested on a misdemeanor child endangerment charge and quickly bonded out, but was immediately rearrested on a felony domestic violence charge. He was apparently convicted on similar charges back in 1999, after assaulting a 5-year-old family member.
I can’t stand the racket a heavy coat makes in the dryer, the sound of a child bouncing around in there would drive me insane(er).…

February 8, 2012 at 3:01 pm by Jaded
Only in Florida — A man accused of shoving his wife, putting his hand on her throat and raising his fist to her during an argument learned his fate during his initial court appearance earlier this week – a romantic dinner with the wife at Red Lobster.
“He’s going to stop by somewhere and he’s going to get some flowers,” Judge John “Jay” Hurley said at 47-year-old Joseph Bray’s bond hearing. “And then he’s going to go home, pick up his wife, get dressed, take her to Red Lobster. And then after they have Red Lobster, they’re going to go bowling.”
Bray’s wife, who was present at the hearing, said the couple began arguing after Bray neglected to wish her a happy birthday. At some point during the spat, Bray allegedly shoved the woman against a couch and placed one hand on her throat, raising the other as if to strike her. Fortunately, he did not.
Judge Hurley asked the woman if she was hurt or in fear of her husband. When the woman answered no, Hurley continued probing.…

February 8, 2012 at 1:30 pm by Jaded
Gainesville, FL – Marvelle Rucker, 21, was taken into custody Sunday after admitting to police that he tried to smother his girlfriend’s cat because it caused him to fail an online exam.
Rucker’s girlfriend told police the cat was lethargic and unresponsive when she returned home from work Sunday afternoon. Also, in what I would have to assume was an argument over the state of the cat’s health, police say Rucker cornered the girlfriend in the bathroom and yelled at her and repeatedly poked her in the face for about 10 or 15 minutes.
When questioned about the cat, Rucker reportedly laughed as he told the arresting officer he placed a pillow over the critter’s face and punched it. He was trying to kill it, he said, because the damn thing caused him to fail a test.
Rucker admitted to cornering his girlfriend in the bathroom, telling police he wasn’t going to let her out until she listened to what he had to say. He also admitted to poking the woman in the face, but said that because he wasn’t actually beating her, he didn’t think it was a crime.…

Tampa, FL — A future Darwin Award candidate has been hospitalized in critical condition after police say he inadvertently set himself on fire while attempting to set fire to his estranged wife.
Matthew Wong, apparently distraught with the state of his 25-year marriage, filled a couple of empty bleach bottles with gasoline and headed over to his wife’s residence, where he sat and waited for her to leave for work Monday morning.
When the woman exited her apartment, police say Wong began chasing her around the complex, threatening to kill her while splashing her with gas… dousing himself in the process. An alert neighbor heard the commotion and grabbed 46-year-old Gloria Davis, pulling her into a nearby apartment.
“I had to bring her up because she kind of fell,” said Capitola Scott. “She was so hysterical, so I grabbed her to bring her on up here.”
Wong then allegedly doused the entryway and bushes surrounding the apartment where the woman was hiding, screamed, “I’m gonna to kill you!” and flicked his Bic.…

The following day, police went to the home that the man shared with Denise Suplina, 48, to inform her of his death. When no one answered, police forced their way in only to and discover a badly battered body – believed to be Suplina – in the refrigerator. The state of the body was such that responding officers have been offered counseling.
“Seeing a deceased person in the state they did is extremely difficult,” Detective Inspector Peter Yeomans said.
It is believed the body may have been partially frozen.
A black metal pole was removed from a bedroom inside the house. Police said they would examine it forensically to determine if it is the murder weapon.
“They seemed like normal, hard-working, decent people,” a neighbor said in an obligatory statement indicating that everything looked fine even though it clearly was not.…

Cleveland, OH - Kevin Ford Jr. was apprehended after a manhunt yesterday following a ‘domestic disturbance’ at a home at a CMHA housing complex. Police say that around 10 a.m., Ford and his girlfriend, Tiffany Lawson, 31, began to argue.
Ford reportedly chased Lawson through the house while she was holding their 18-month-old boy in her arms. Authorities say that Ford sprayed lighter fluid on Lawson – prompting her to run upstairs in the two-story townhouse.
Yelling to a neighbor who had heard the commotion, Lawson managed to toss the toddler out the 2nd story window to the person below immediately before Ford lit her on fire. Lawson then reportedly tore off her burning clothes and jumped out the window.
The toddler was caught and suffered no injuries. Doctors said Lawson sustained first-degree burns to her right hand and leg and a broken right elbow and arm.

JOHNSTON, R.I. – A man has been arrested and charged with murdering his wife, dismembering her body and then trying to get rid of the evidence in a fireplace.
I’m not going into details, but I have often wondered if it would be possible to get rid of a body using my fireplace. I still think it is possible, but after reading what happened to 52-year-old Donald K. Greenslit, I may need invest in a working fire extinguisher before ever attempting it.
Firefighters were called to Greenslit’s home because of a fire originating from the basement. They were able to safely contain the fire although two children, ages 3 and 5, were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Investigators would also find the source of the fire were body parts that had been placed in the fireplace.
“It appeared that the remains could be that of a human body. It was actually wrapped in cloth and it was burned severely and was actually cut up into pieces,” said officials.…

Ft. Smith, Arkansas — The body of 24-year-old Cassie Cotta was found yesterday in rural Crawford County after having been missing since December 30 and her husband has been charged with her murder.
Cassie Cotta’s mother contacted police on New Year’s Eve after her daughter failed to show up for work. The last time anyone had any contact with her was at around 11pm on December 30 when she left a post on her Facebook account that read ”Blah blah blah.. Cheers people! Fuck it.”
Cassie’s husband, 33-year-old Brent Cotta, was the last person to see Cassie alive and told police she left for a party with a man named “Brandon.” He also commented on that last post of Cassie’s, joining in with concerned friends and expressing his concerns over Cassie’s party habits and the people she hung out with.
