When the man tried to quickly walk away,  Meyers grabbed him and placed him under arrest. Nitinkuma A. Patel, 27,  who worked at a local donut shop, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact, lewdness, and child abuse. After his arrest, another victim identified Patel as the man who urinated on her and police are looking into five more reported incidents since late December. The victims are between the ages of 16 and 25 and anyone who has been the victim of a similar incident is asked to call Jersey City police at (201) 547-JAIL. Can you imagine that? Being 3-years-old and forgotten about at your own goddamn party? As a parent, and a friend to many parents, I have been to my fair share of birthday parties. Home parties, Chuck E. Cheese, McDonald’s, theme parks, movie theater, almost anywhere a kid can have a birthday party – I’ve been to at least one of them. Never, in all of those instances, did the adults not look out for the kids. So it just amazes me that this boy had at least 20 friends and family there, and NONE of them noticed the parents were not around? There is just so much infuriatingly wrong with this. So much dumbassery.

I would love to hear the excuses. I would also love to have some clarification on some of the reports that say that the parents realized neither of them had the boy on Sunday – but waited until Monday to start calling. I am assuming that when they realized neither had the boy, that is when they thought the grandmother had him. Who knows. But this is just another example of their need to be a license for some people to have kids. Anyway, happy birthday kid…good luck making it to your next one.

Conone finally admitted to his actions and told investigators he had been doing this since January. The reason? It got him excited. “He stated that he does this because of the excitement of being able to do it and get away with it with the parents right there,” said Sgt. John Hurst of the special victims bureau. “He’ll just strike them in the head and just turn around and walk away.” He also stated he never thought of abducting the kids or harming them in any serious fashion. He just like popping them. Conone has no record and was married for 42 years before his wife divorced him in 2007. She told reporters that he was a manic-depressive who would refuse to take his meds. Conone was charged with two counts of assault, a judge set bond at $150,000 and ordered him to stay out of all Walmarts.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do not condone this type of behavior…and God knows if some old man ever punched my 6-year-old in the head I would probably be going to jail for bitch-slapping his dentures into the electronics department…but I cannot help but giggle a little when I think of some old man shuffling around Walmart randomly knocking on the noggins of little kids. I know, I am sick…but how many of you have had the displeasure of finding yourself in a Walmart while some unsupervised kids were running around? You never thought of it? Ever?

Madigan is accused of force-feeding the child so harshly that her tongue was lacerated. He covered the child’s mouth and nose with his hands to prevent her from crying and consistently caused bruises to her arms and torso. On another occasion he is accused of cutting the girl’s chin while disciplining her after a potty-training accident. In November, Madigan repeatedly tried to stop the child from crying by picking her up and covering her mouth and nose, causing her to gasp for air. When she didn’t stop crying, he dropped her on the floor, causing her to hit her head and suffer extended dizziness. Madigan was charged with one count of second-degree child assault and one count of first-degree criminal mistreatment. He is being held on $250,000 bail.  The Big Pussy has a couple MySpace pages. On the first one, Big Puppy, he claims to be married and a proud-parent among other things and on the second one, Irish Puppy, he claims to be single.

Since the incident was primarily an altercation between Lopez and her brother, the infant girl was not removed at the time. Lopez posted $50,000 bail in the case and was scheduled to appear in court in April. Kamilah’s father,  Joseph Russell Jr., 22, had left the apartment shortly before Kamilah was killed. He called Kamilah’s death “a devastating moment in my life” and said Kamilah was “his love, his life.” He is also the father of the 7-month-old and the unborn child.

The woman said Hunt was angry, and when she heard the baby made a strange noise she knew she was hurt and took the baby from him. The woman also said she witnessed Hunt on a prior occasion become angry and twist their daughter’s leg during a diaper change because the little girl was moving and jerked her leg. Hunt admitted to an officer that he grabbed his daughter around her chest area sometime in January. He also said he grabbed and jerked his daughter’s legs a few weeks ago and when they became swollen he applied ice to reduce the swelling, but it didn’t do any good. That was when they decided to take the child to the hospital. Hunt denied hitting his girlfriend, but he admitted to poking her in the chest a couple of times. Ryan Hunt was arrested and charged with battery and aggravated child abuse. Authorities also discovered Hunt had a federal warrant for being a deserter from the U.S. Navy. He was taken into custody. Hunt was supposed to leave on a ship in December, but instead went home to visit his baby and never returned. He remains in jail without bond. As of late Tuesday the baby was in foster care and expected to be fine medically. DCF has prior involvement with the woman. In the fall of 2009 while she was pregnant, DCF officials said the woman had children removed from her care and not returned. Whether these were her children or relatives is unknown.

The makeshift bed was the only thing inside the room that smelled heavy with urine. The boy, who weighed a mere 38 pounds, was dressed in a t-shirt, shorts, and a diaper. His body and face were covered with bruises. After the boy was taken to the hospital, it was determined that his body temperature was 92 degrees, which indicated he was in hypothermia due to malnutrition. It was learned that his stepmother, 27-year-old Jaime B. Day, deprived the boy of food and would not allow him to eat with the family but instead forced him to watch the family eat. It was also learned that the boy was so hungry at times he ate his own feces and drank his own urine just to survive.  As if that were not enough torture, a second-degree burn was found on the boy’s back that was caused by his stepmother placing a heated sock filled with rice on his back. Jaime Day was charged with 25 counts of cruelty to a juvenile and 2 counts of 2nd degree cruelty to a juvenile with her bond set at $5.5 million. The boy’s worthless father, 30-year old Murry Dalton Day, is being charged with 5 counts of cruelty to a juvenile and 1 counts of 2nd degree cruelty to a juvenile. A judge set his bond at $2 million, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  He was expected to turn himself in yesterday.

Detectives were able to determine the boy had been being abused since late last year. The two other boys in the home, a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old, were both Jaime Day’s biological children, the eldest adopted by Murry. Neither child appeared to have been abused but were removed from the home as well. And where was the abused boy’s biological mother, you ask? Six years ago, Murry Day was given custody of the boy after his mother’s parental rights were terminated when it was determined that physical abuse had occurred. The investigation is continuing with more arrests possible. No child should ever have to suffer like this but until fathers like Murry grow some balls, as well as a heart, and more people like the anonymous caller step up and report something they suspect is wrong, I know this will not be the last horrific child abuse story we hear about. I am just glad this one came with a much better ending.

In an interview with a sheriff’s deputy, Gatlin admitted she was heavily involved with drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and marijuana. She said the baby’s father was abusive, but had committed suicide in September. Gatlin admitted that she initially lied to hospital officials about someone else possibly drugging the baby, because she wanted “to take the focus off herself.” Gatlin gave a taped confession on Nov. 16 and admitted to giving her baby Percocet because the baby was “cranky as hell,” and would not sleep. So, she thought since Percocet made her sleepy, it would make the baby go to sleep too. Which it almost did. Permanently.

Gatlin was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18, a class A felony; third-degree assault of a child, a class C felony; and second-degree criminal mistreatment, also a class C felony. Prosecutors said the child abuse charges were not more severe because Gatlin said she didn’t mean to hurt her baby. Gatlin is out of custody on condition that she does not have contact with her daughter or any minor children. The baby, who turned 1 on Jan. 14, was released from the hospital in late October and placed in the custody of a relative.

He’d bent her tiny fingers backward and her wrist downward. When she would wiggle her feet out of her blanket, he’d twist her ankle. He told officers that he pushed on the child’s stomach to make her poop. He pinched her fingers and toes until she cried. What the fuck is wrong with this dude? His reasoning for the torture and abuse? He told officers “he noticed the child would sleep when she was agitated.” OMG, just shoot him already. He admitted that he knew what he was doing was wrong and he knew he should knock it the fuck off, but he didn’t want to tell the baby’s mother what was going on. He didn’t want her to think he was “a monster who would hurt the baby.” Well asshole, now everyone knows what kind of monster you are. Young, 23, is facing two counts of aggravated child abuse. Bail is either $500,000 or $1 million – depends on which news article you click.
