And what’s worse…it now appears that she could have been found in August.  Read on for details.

Caylee Marie Anthony ~ August 9, 2005 – June 2008

Orlando, FL – Wow.  Hell of a news day, huh?  First, the DNA is back, and the tiny remains found in a trash bag last Thursday are, in fact, those of Caylee Marie Anthony.   No real surprise, I suppose.  I think we all knew when the body was found that it was hers.  Who else would it be?  No other tiny little girls with longish brown hair were even missing in Florida last week.

To add insult to murder, it now appears that Roy Kronk, the utility worker who found Caylee’s body, tried to notify authorities in August  about the suspicious trash bag in the woods.  Yes, the very same trash bag that turned out to hold the toddler’s remains.  Three times on three different days, Mr. Kronk says, he called authorities.  Yet it was not until the December 11 911 call (when Kronk reported that the bag had opened and a child’s skull had fallen out) that the remains were finally recovered – four months after Kronk made the first call to police. 

Dr. Jan Garavaglia, Chief Medical Examiner of Orange County, held a press conference today in which she said that Caylee’s remains were primarily bone, and that in fact the entire skeleton was not present in the bag, which was damaged when recovered.  Some of Caylee’s tinier bones had been found in a one-acre area around the dump site, and Dr. G. said that some of those bones were pebble-sized.   She ruled Caylee’s death as “homicide by unknown means”, which basically means that babies don’t get taped up in trash bags by themselves.

For his part, utility worker and unsung hero Roy Kronk issued a prepared statement in which he said that he had spoken with law enforcement, but would not reveal any details about Caylee’s body.  He did say that he’d tried on three occasions in August to alert authorities to the trash bag, which he thought looked suspiciously like it might contain a body.

Mr. Kronk first called on August 11  to report the bag, which he had described as not far off the road.  But a sheriff’s deputy who responded to the call couldn’t locate Kronk, and left.  So the next day,  August 12, Kronk called a crime tip line. The tip was sent to the Orange County Sheriff’s criminal investigation division, but no real action appears to have taken place.  One report says that a notation was made that the area had already been cleared by cadaver dogs.

Then, on August 13, Kronk called police the third time. He met with police, and a deputy went into the wooded area to investigate his claims, but didn’t find anything – although the report from that visit seems to indicate that the officer left before going deeply into the woods due to a “large snake” in the area. The scene was then cleared as a possible place of interest in the case.  Oh, oops.

There is now an internal probe under way within the police department into how the matter was handled. Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said he’s not ready to “throw anyone under the bus” just yet, but it seems likely that the four month time lapse could have resulted in a lot of lost evidence.  Without much, if any, soft tissue remaining, a cause of death for Caylee is going to be much more difficult, if not impossible, to determine.

I’ve heard rumors that the defense is trying to paint Roy Kronk as a suspect, but Sheriff Beary squelched that this afternoon, saying that Mr. Kronk is not a suspect and is, rather, a concerned citizen who was following up his own investigation last week when he saw that the bag had been opened and the remains scattered.

In a sad little end note, the department released a photo – of what appears to be the book Caylee was reading in the last known video of her, taken within a day of her disappearance.  The large yellow hardboard book was on the ground near the dump site, covered with leaves – just like the tiny body of Caylee Anthony.

UPDATE 12/13/08 – I’ve been told that the hair on the recovered body is a visual match for Caylee’s hair under a microscope.  The bone measurements are also correct for Caylee, so it’s just about certain that these remains are hers.  More details at the bottom of the article.

Orlando, FL (December 11, 2008) - The search for 2-year-old Caylee Anthony may be over.  At about 9:30 this morning, a utility worker who was working near the Anthony home walked into a wooded area to relieve himself.  As he walked through the hilly, wet grass, the man stumbled across a trash bag which was held together with duct tape. When the man opened the bag, the skull of a small child rolled onto the ground.  Inside the bag was the rest of the child’s body.  Caylee Anthony, 2, has been missing since approximately June 16, but was not reported missing until July 15.

We are watching this story break and will continue to bring you updates as we have them.  Right now, we are hearing that there is a search warrant being issued for Anthony home.  Dr. Jan Garavaglia, better known as “Dr. G: Medical Examiner” from The Health Channel, is reportedly at the scene.  As Chief Medical Examiner of Orange County, she will be responsible for the processing of the remains.  The body appears to be that of a little girl and is reported to be mostly skeletonized.  DNA is already being processed to confirm the identity of the body as Caylee Anthony.

The body was found in an area that had, until recently, been under water. In September, Tim Miller and EquuSearch were not able to get to the site due to flooding, and in November, when EquuSearch returned, the site had been fenced off.   The site is about a quarter mile from the Anthony’s home. If this body is Caylee’s, it suddenly makes sense that Casey Anthony kept telling her mother that “Caylee’s close by, I can feel it.”

Casey Anthony’s reaction to today’s find has been very different from past possible Caylee discoveries.  Several weeks ago, when it was reported that bones were found in a bag in a river, Casey reacted by returning to her cell with no emotion.  That find was quickly debunked.  Today, however, Casey is reported to be in hysterics, having panic attacks, and has apparently been given sedatives to calm her down.  That’s quite a change from the stoic, nonplussed reaction the media has seen from Casey at other times.  Sounds telling to me.

George and Cindy Anthony, Casey’s parents and Caylee’s grandparents, are on their way home from a Larry King Live taping in California. Apparently Lee Anthony and his girlfriend Mallory were house-sitting for the elder Anthonys when deputies arrived at the home this morning.  The Anthony family will not be let into the house while it is being searched as a crime scene.

It is not yet certain that the body, which is mostly skeletal now, belongs to Caylee, but it seems likely that the remains are hers.  Jose Baez has reportedly gone to the jail and met with Casey Anthony before heading off to file an injunction seeking to preserve evidence and allow the defense to conduct its own independent testing.  Just this morning Baez has asked for a change of venue in Casey’s upcoming murder trial and been granted a continuance.  The trial was originally scheduled to begin on January 5 but is now being put off until March.  A hearing is scheduled for January 15.

Update 12/12/08 - Overnight, a search warrant was executed at the Anthony home.  Among items removed were seven large paper bags and four boxes of evidence. They also seized four vacuum cleaners and two pesticide tanks. Sheriff Kevin Beary says that items were taken from the Anthony home that are consistent with items found with the body.

Update 12/13/08 -  In an emergency court hearing yesterday, Jose Baez was denied his request to have his own experts at autopsy.  My source tells me that the autopsy is finished pending some lab work and, of course, DNA, which is being rushed through and should be back as early as next week.  However, the bone measurements and hair are a match for Caylee by visual inspection.  And hair is very distinctive under a microscope, so it’s all over but the “yes” on the DNA.  We’ll keep you updated as we get information.

It’s Thanksgiving again!

Dreamin’ Demon Home Office, Akron, OH – We here at the Dreamin’ Demon love the holidays.  Not just because we get to take the day off and indulge in hookers and blow, but also because it’s a time for peace, love, harmony, and a bunch of other sentimental crap.

We’ll be way busy next week, posting stuff about women beating their men with fry cookers, and men beating their women with turkeys, and no doubt somebody will shove something – or someone – into an oven.  So in honor of this festive occasion, we have compiled one of our Awesome D’D Top Five Lists:  The Top Five Stories About Ovens… and the victims people put in them.  Or on them.  You’re welcome, internet!

Number 5 – A Kitten

Originally posted on April 17th, 2008, this story detailed the plight of a kitten that found itself inside an oven that was being used to heat a home. The story didn’t garner that much activity, with only 19 responses – which was surprising as the characters involved were the usual D’D fodder who end up typing back to us in all caps and use the word BITCH 34 times in a wall of words. The story even included the line “It was really awful, awful. The cat was seriously burned. It had to be screaming, you had to smell the cat. I smelled the cat when I arrived, I’m sure someone had to be aware”. But I guess the story just didn’t tug at the heartstrings as much as other animals do seeing as the animal was a cat…and everyone knows what evil and foul creatures they are. Someone could have stuck a scorpion in the oven and you would have seen more sympathy. Read the full story (with video!)

Number 4 – A Puppy

Actually the most recent animal-in-the-oven story on D’D.  My future disappointed girlfriend, Alex Rouse, returned home to find the house full of smoke. After checking the furnace, her attention was directed to the oven. Seems that while she was out, some asshole broke into her home and had stuffed her dog in it. At this point, no suspect has been arrested, although Alex has her suspicions. No word on if the dog was alive when it was put in the oven or not. Police (and if you watch the video, the Homeowners Association) are taking this crime very seriously aw it does take a pretty fucked up person to do something like that. Number 3 – A Penny

Another puppy, another asshole sticking it an oven. This one was all kinds of messed up. Bonnie Bowens returned from church to find her pet dog, Penny, cooking inside her oven. Someone had even propped a chair against the front of the oven, which leads one to easily assume the dog was alive when it was placed there. To add even more insult, Bonnie’s house was broken into again. On the bright side, local housing authorities are helping her find somewhere else to live, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ponied up a reward of up to $2,500 to help catch the person/people who did this. Number 2 – An Ear

Now, this may not sound as bad as putting a live animal in the oven, but obviously, the ear used to be attached to someone.  In this case the ear belonged to Jana Shearer and was found in a pot on the oven owned by her ex-boyfriend, Christopher McCuin.

In a nutshell, Christopher murdered Jana, carved up her body in the garage of his mother’s home, called 911 (after showing his mother what he had done) and told them what he had done and that he was planning on eating the body.  In fact, he stated, he was cooking some of her at that very moment. When police arrived at the home, and subsequently arrested Christopher, they found Jana’s body in the cab of his truck with obvious cutting injuries to her torso and face, including a missing ear and a missing bicep. But once they got to the kitchen, they found the missing parts. The ear was boiling in a pot on the stove, and Jana’s bicep was on on a plate with a fork stuck into it. And our number one story of someone putting something in the oven that did not belong there is:

Number 1 -A Kid

When Tiffany Fraser’s 7-year-old son lost a cell phone, she did what most parents do in that case. She shoved his ass in an oven. What made this story even worse was the fact that the boy went to daycare and when Joelle M. Lherisson, 37, asked why he had burns on his arms, legs and nose, he told her that his mother had put him in an oven as a punishment. Joelle called the mother who actually verified the story…and then proceeded to do NOTHING. The boy eventually ran away from home and told someone at a mall what had been done to him.

We posted this story in January, and at the time, Tiffany’s twins had been removed from her custody and she had pled not guilty to second-degree assault charges. Joelle’s daycare was under investigation and she had been charged with a misdemeanor count of failure to report child abuse. I tried to do a little searching to update this story, but couldn’t find anything aside from our own article… which you can read right here.

So there ya’ go.  Sure, we all hope that Monday’s top story will be about some woman in Missouri who shot her man after he slapped her for being late with the turkey.  But you know and I know that somewhere, somebody’s gonna turn on the oven and roast ‘em a little somethin’.  So while you sit there reading this, probably stuffed from gorging yourself on bird and bread,  letting off steamy farts that smell vaguely like Aunt Ruth’s famous broccoli ‘n cheese casserole with pumpkin pie filling crusting up around your greasy lips…be thankful that you have yet to be featured here.

Dreamin’ Demon Home Office, Akron, Ohio – It’s Labor Day, a time when most of us celebrate the ending of summer with parties and barbecues.  Some of us get all teary about the plight of the American Worker, others get in a last swim at the public pool.  Here at the Dreamin’ Demon Home Office in Akron, Ohio, this Labor Day reminded us of… labor.

Sometimes we cover cases where a mother undergoes nine months of pregnancy, grits her teeth through hours or days of labor, and produces a beautiful little bundle of joy – only to kill it or abandon it to death within hours, days, or weeks.  Today, I present to you my top five Dreamin’ Demon Labor Day babykillers:  mothers all, with infants three months or younger.  

5.  Genny Granados, Houston, Texas

Genny Granados, 29, was already a mother of two when she found out she was pregnant with her third child.  The problem?  The child didn’t belong to her long-term man.  Granados appeared at a Houston emergency room in February complaining of stomach pain.  But before she could be seen, she left – at least, it was thought that she left.   Instead, Granados hid in a restroom in the hospital, gave birth, cleaned herself up and ditched her newborn son in a trash can.   The infant was discovered later, but not soon enough.   Granados’ baby was brain-dead.  After several days in the hospital, he was removed from life support.    Granados even had the cojones to petition the court to attend her son’s funeral, but was denied.   She is awaiting trial on charges of felony injury to a child.

4. Efernia McClendon, Opelika, Alabama

Efernia McClendon was just 18 years old when she gave birth in February.  She didn’t abort.  She didn’t choose adoption for her unborn child.   No, Efernia waited until she’d gone nine months without prenatal care, gave birth in her home, and then threw her baby girl out into a ditch behind her apartment complex.  Efernia’s baby girl was born alive and then killed.  She had no name, not even a dumpster for a coffin.   A police investigator raised money for a funeral and named the tiny girl Noelani, because nobody came to claim her.   Three months later, after DNA and other forensic evidence was processed, Efernia McClendon was arrested and charged with manslaughter.  She’s awaiting trial.

3. Kristina Fuelling, Granite Bay, California

Kristina Fuelling, 27, had problems giving her eight-day-old baby girl a bath.  Faith Evelyn Fuelling was born on January 12, 2008, and was killed by her mother on January 20.  Kristina Fuelling drowned baby Faith in a sink, then woke up her husband to tell him what she’d done.  Fuelling was not a single mother.  She had Faith’s father in the home – she chose not to wake him, chose not to tell him she was overwhelmed.  She chose not to call someone for help or leave the baby alone in a crib.  Hell, she chose not to kill herself.  Instead, she drowned her baby, went to jail, and told police exactly what she’d done.

Fuelling is now awaiting trial on charges of murder and assault on a child. Her defense is claiming postpartum depression and financial problems.  Note to Kristina:  abortion would have been cheaper.  Birth control, cheaper still. Adoption would have gotten you paid.  Murder is expensive.

2. Morgan Hite, Wasilla, Alaska and Grand Junction, Colorado

Morgan Hite 22, left the corpse of her murdered newborn son at her father and stepmother’s Colorado home after a visit in April.  She apparently gave birth in a neighbor’s bathroom, which she then cleaned up after killing her baby.  She wrapped the child in plastic, carted him home to her parents’ house, and left his body to rot in their guest closet.   Even worse?  Hite slept in the room with the rotting infant for over a month before taking her older child and going home to Alaska.  Um, say what?

Hite’s stepmother found the dead baby in her guest room closet, stuffed into a bag.  She’d been cleaning house trying to find what she thought was a dead rodent.  Nobody had known Morgan was still pregnant – she told her family she’d given birth in Alaska and given the baby up for adoption. While she was in Colorado, Morgan went snowboarding, took in tourist attractions with her daughter, and ignored the dead baby in her closet.   Morgan Hite is awaiting trial on charges of murder and child abuse resulting in death.

1. Caren Kohberger, Alvin and Galveston, Texas

That’s right, denizens.  My number one Labor Day babykiller isn’t even charged with murder – but maybe she should be.  On January 29, 2998, three-month old Alijah Mullis was stomped to death by his father, Travis “TJ” Mullis.  His body and carseat were abandoned on the side of the road in Galveston – nothing like death with a beach view.   Clearly Alijah’s mother, Caren Kohberger, didn’t actually kill her child – so why the ranking?   Because the more I think about this bitch, the madder I get.

Caren whined throughout her pregnancy, begging for help from friends on Fubar, a social networking site where she spent most of her time.  She knew her babydaddy Mullis had problems.  But Caren wouldn’t work.  Caren wouldn’t do anything.   Caren left her baby to his troubled father, well aware of his issues.   Why?  Because Caren was a lazy bitch who couldn’t be bothered.  And I defended her, said she didn’t kill her son, she shouldn’t be charged.  I was wrong, wrong, wrong.

On the morning of Alijah’s death, he was barely three months old.  Travis Mullis went to Caren and said that he was having flashbacks to sexual abuse he had suffered as a child.  He told Caren that he had to get out of the house or he would hurt his son, hurt her, or hurt himself.  Her response?  “Take the baby with you.”

Four hours later, Alijah Mullis was dead.  It wasn’t like Caren Kohberger had anywhere to be that day, anything to do.  She knew her son was in danger.  Mullis told her he would likely hurt the child. And she told Mullis to take him anyway.   That, my friends, is almost as good as a curb-stomp to me.  And while Travis Mullis  now faces the death penalty (as well he should), Caren Kohberger is out on bond, awaiting trial on a charge of child endangerment – a charge that will net her less than two years, if convicted.

People of the Internet, take heed and listen.  If you do not want a baby, do not go through labor only to kill your child.  There’s no need.  Birth control is readily available.  Adoption is often profitable for birth mothers, and some open adoptions will allow you to keep track of your baby without the responsibility or expense of raising her.  Even abortion is a better option than killing your child once it’s born and leaving the body for someone else to find.   This Labor Day, make it your goal :  no unplanned pregnancy.   Save Labor Day for barbecues, workers, and people who plan for, want, and love their children.  Please?

UPDATE 8/30/08 – Heidi Dieball pleaded guilty on Friday to second-degree intentional murder and two counts of child abuse in connection with the death of toddler Andrew Haga.  As part of the plea bargain, she admitted to intentionally beating the child to death.  She will be sentenced October 24 and will likely serve about 19 years for her crimes.  Details at the bottom of this article.

Wichita, KS (January 10, 2008) - Heidi Dieball, 24, has some serious furniture. On January 4, according to Heidi, her couch killed 19-month-old Andrew Haga. Andrew’s mother Athena Haga had left Andrew with Heidi, her roommate, overnight on January 3.

Early the next morning, Heidi called Athena to let her know that baby Andrew wasn’t breathing and reportedly asked, “What should I do?” Andrew’s mom flipped out and told Heidi to call 911. She may have added “dumbass”. I know I would have.

When emergency workers arrived sometime later, they found a dead baby Andrew… and a lying sack of shit named Heidi.

Heidi’s story is that Andrew just boom, fell off the couch. As all nineteen month old children are prone to at four in the morning. But it seems that Heidi’s couch, it’s a badass couch. Because while Andrew was falling off of it, the couch scratched Andrew all up and slammed his head hard enough to cause a fatal brain bleed.

I know, right? That damn couch, beating on babies like that.

Heidi was unemployed and moved in with Athena and Andrew Haga on Christmas Eve. The arrangement was that Heidi could live rent-free in exchange for babysitting. If I were Athena Haga, I think I’d be asking for back rent, but it’ll be tough to collect with Heidi in jail on murder charges in lieu of $500,000.00 bond.

UPDATE 8/30/08:

So maybe it wasn’t the couch after all.  Heidi Dieball has taken a plea deal that allowed her to plead guilty to second degree intentional murder and two counts of child abuse in connection with the death of Andrew Haga.   In court on Friday, Dieball admitted that she beat Andrew Haga twice while she was  left alone with him in January.  Then – holy cats, get this – Heidi said she beat that baby a third time to kill him.  On PURPOSE.

The autopsy report showed that Andrew had “at least 24 bruises on his head and multiple bruises on his chest, hips and stomach”, and that that Andrew died of severe head injuries.

Because Heidi pleaded to second-degree murder, she’ll be sentenced to about nineteen years instead of the life sentence she was facing under the original first-degree murder charge.  I’m still trying to figure out how intentional murder is second-degree, but whatever.  At least the couch is off the hook.

Orlando, FL and The Dreamin’ Demon Home Office – As we all know too well, Casey Anthony got out of jail yesterday. And after three articles and a total of over forty bajillion comments, (okay, 7500, but who’s counting?) the Legend Of Peeperann’s Pizza Delivery really deserves a post all its own.   Yes, denizens, it was our very own Peeperann who sent Casey Anthony the welcome-home gift of pizza, “With love and decomp from the Dreamin’ Demon.” 

It started on a rainy Thursday morning – yesterday, even – when it became clear that yes, Casey Anthony was going home.  For those who have been living in a broom closet or under a large rock, Casey Anthony is the mother of missing child Caylee Anthony.

When human cadaver dogs alerted on Casey’s car trunk in July, Casey’s mother Cindy Anthony had become cranky with the press and their incessant rude questions. She told the media, the internet, and the world that the smell of human decomposition had been caused by Casey leaving a pizza in her car for twelve to nineteen days.  A Domino’s MeatZZa pizza, to be exact.

Of course, Cindy was wrong.  An Orlando news station experimented with the pizza and was unable to make it emit human cadaverine or putrescine, probably because Domino’s does not make pizza out of humans.  Further, it really didn’t stink that much.  So Cindy was either wrong or lying, and neither has been uncommon during this case.

Our posters, and there are a lot of you, have felt very frustrated with the progress or lack thereof in Caylee’s disappearance.  Many, like our Peeperann, have spent hours researching the case and looking at it from all angles.  The sad conclusion that is virutally always reached is that Caylee is likely dead and that her mother Casey killed her.  The dysfunction, denial, and outright lies of Caylee’s family (and lately of Leonard Padilla, the bounty hunter who arranged Casey’s bail) have added to the frustration.

After three email exchanges with Leonard Padilla in which Padilla was quite rude to our Peeper, she was sad yesterday.  Knowing that Casey was getting out of jail on bond and would go home to do her nails and enjoy a beer and just hang out while Caylee remained missing left our Peeperann disgruntled and hmphy.  And she decided to do something about it.

With the help and advice of several posters and at least one administrator (ahem, heh), Peeperann did it.  She called a Domino’s Pizza in Orlando and ordered Casey a medium-sized MeatZZa pizza.  On the lid, she ordered that a note be written, saying, “With love and decomp from the Dreamin’ Demon.”  Which was just damned funny, I don’t care who you are.  Because, after all, a pizza is not human decomposition, no matter how much Cindy Anthony wants it to be.

The message was for Casey.  Not a threat, not a hateful gesture (okay, maybe a little bit hateful).  It was designed to let her and her cadre of professionals, none of whom are scouring the countryside for Caylee, know that we know the truth.  We are not fooled by visions of pepperoni dancing in our gullible little heads.  We do our homework.  We know the difference between cadaverine from a human and a baked sausage left out too long.  We, Casey Anthony, are not as stupid as your parents, as your bail guy, as the people who you think you have fooled.  We know what you did, and we want you to know we know.

Peeperann paid $14.37 for the pizza at around 11:00 a.m.  It arrived right on time - about ten minutes earlier than first expected, even – and the media had a field day.  People the internet over thought that the Anthonys were weird, even heartless, for ordering a pizza, and Peeper just smiled.  We laughed out loud and took credit for the event like we thought of it personally, and Peeperann was kind and gracious and said “I just want the site to get the credit”, like we’d ever let that happen.

By mid-afternoon, we’d made the news and a copycat had sent a Pizza Hut pie as well.  Which was nice, since a single medium pie was unlikely to feed all the bondspeople and security and whatnot.  But then Leonard Padilla told CNN’s Headline News that Casey’s brother Lee had sent the pie in an outright, bald-faced, bullshit lie.  We knew it was a lie, because we had Hector, the Domino’s manager, who had called Peeper’s phone to verify the message and the order.  We also had Peeper’s credit card transaction report for the order.  So Padilla was lying, and that in turn caused people posting on other sites to call us liars.

Now, we will do a lot of stuff.  We are irreverent, often adolescent, and certainly snarky.  But liars, kids, we are NOT.  We got mad.  Peeper got mad.  And we felt the need to set the record straight.  But just about the time we were really heating up and calling the networks in a fit of fury, Padilla tripped like an Olympic gymnast on a bad balance beam.

At five minutes to the close of Nancy Grace, Padilla said, “We just have to look 180 degrees and make sure that the pizza man is actually delivering a pizza that is ordered by the house and not by some kook that wrote, uh, you know, Stacy murder me.”

Granted, Padilla may well have been talking about the Pizza Hut copycat, who wrote “Casey murdered me” on that box.  (We thought ours was funnier.)  But what he did was tell the world that the Anthony family had not ordered pizza, was not ordering pizza, and that the pizza delivery had pissed them off a bit.   With that statement, we felt vindicated, knowing that the truth always comes out in the end - even if it slips out between Padilla’s teeth and a toothpick.

So that’s the true story of Peeperann and the Orlando Pizza.  We’ve heard that a local Orlando network wants to talk to her for a possible interview.  We couldn’t be prouder.  Public shaming – it’s what we do.  And nobody knows that better than our Peeperann and her glorious, excellent Prank of the MeatZZA Pizza.

Ohhh, we better put a disclaimer here: Don’t send the Anthonys a pizza.  Peeper did it once and it was funny – once.  Lots of pizzas are not so much funny as they are harassment.  Ditto sympathy cards, shovels, and all the other stuff that sounds hilarious but is in actuality not really all that legal.  Just be glad Peeper did it.  She speaks for all of us.

Benjamin Sargent, Sharon Twocrows, Rowan Ford

Dreamin’ Demon Home Office, Akron, Ohio – Every so often I like to just update a case here and there, especially when it seems like a few cases have things going on.  Also, I’m sort of a lazy blogger sometimes, and this is a good way to get a story up on the front page without having to go hunt down the latest babykiller.  After all, we have so many already here!  This week has seen developments in a few cases we’ve covered over the last months, so read on to see what’s happening.

The Benjamin Sargent case is one that hits everyone in two places – the heart, and the gag reflex.  This poor five month old baby boy was left to die in a carseat for over a week, wasting away of starvation and dehydration, his skin burning and falling off from his own waste.  Oh yeah, we hate Benjamin’s parents with a white passion up in here.   Tracy Hermann gave up parental rights to her older child, Natalie, last month.

Now the prosecution has decided not to seek the death penalty in the parents’ trials, citing mental health concerns and the parents each blaming the other for Benjamin’s death.   Okay then, let’s just put the parents in a restraint chair for a week and see if that takes care of the problem.  I’ll even supply a complimentary tard helmet.

In somewhat better news, Sharon Twocrows pled guilty yesterday to six felony counts in connection with the abuse of her four year old grandson in Newton County, Missouri.  That child was found in February starved, beaten and restrained in a trash and feces-filled home with no running water.   He weighed 22 lbs.  The child’s two year old sister, who was also in the home, had a running-shoe footprint bruise on her back.  Only the infant in the home appeared healthy.  Well, the infant, Twocrows, who is a nurse for heck’s sake, and Twocrows’ son and daughter in law, Paul and Chasity Kubie.  The Kubies have been bound over for trial in Newton County.  Twocrows will be sentenced on July 17.

Newton County, MO is a busy place lately.  On June 17, a new motion was filed for a second public defender for Chris Collings, who is accused of murder in the Rowan Ford case.  It appears that now both Chris Collings and David Spears have two attorneys each.  This is important information because in Missouri, you need two attorneys for the defense in order to try a death penalty case.  The state is seeking the death penalty against Collings and  Spears for the rape and murder of Spears’ stepdaughter Rowan Ford, who as most of us know was brutally killed last November when she was just nine years old.

Now both Collings and Spears are scheduled for court hearings on July 22, presumably with all their various counsel present.  Now maybe we can get this show on the road and Missouri can rid itself of these two blights on humanity sooner rather than later.

UPDATE 8/10/08 – Turns out James Crise was a lot busier than he was letting on. He has been charged with NEW multiple felonies, including sexual assault and involuntary deviant sexual intercourse – against a 15-year-old girl.  He is out on $15,000 cash bond and is awaiting trial now in two cases – the one we covered here first, and now the new case.  Both carry multiple charges, although the new charges are more serious.  Details at the bottom of the article.

Greensburg, PA, February 22, 2008 - I love it when the perv of the moment has a Myspace. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, like I have a purpose in life. The pervs are in the closet, and I’m just a little impish lightbulb flashing at most inconvenient of times. Wow. I think we just had a moment there, didn’t we? Anyway. I don’t think James Crise is really gay, and he’s definitely not 21. And those 13-year-old girls in his car? He was “paying them to bikini wrestle.” And the laptops? Yeah, those were a bad idea.

James Crise is 26. And he was pulled over in Greensburg some months ago for running a red light. At the time, he asked the cop not to tell the girls in the backseat his real age, since he had told them he was 21. Because that’s how you get the cops on your side in Pennsylvania, right, dumbass? Naturally, this raised some suspicion, so the cop looked inside the vehicle to find two eighth-graders and two laptops. The girls told the police that they had been paid $200 to “bikini wrestle”. Um, okay. That sounds kind of like Humping Tag or Dickball to me.

The police felt the same way, so they took the computers and decided to do a little investigating. Which apparently took awhile, because sheez, seven months later they finally arraigned Crise on Thursday. Turns out he not only is accused of molesting those two girls, he also allegedly sold photographs of another naked 15-year-old girl. And he apparently had another man, James Moon, pose as a girl’s father to entice a 13-year-old away from her mother. This guy is a real piece of… work. Police are still investigating all the ick on those computers.

Crise has been charged with sexual abuse of children, sexual exploitation of children, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility, interference with custody of children, conspiracy and corruption of minors. But for all that, his bond is set at $20,000. I don’t get that either. Here’s hoping he’s really, really broke.

UPDATE 4/24/08 – Someone stating that he or she is James Crise’s neighbor posted here, in our forums, last night. This person states that Crise was acquitted and was planning to sue websites who posted on his story. The poster goes on at some length about all the lawsuits Crise is filing. He says that grand juries are indicting officers and Crise is offering to take a detective’s house as partial payment of his multimillion dollar settlement. Then the poster stated that he could “get (Crise) to come on here”. Oh, okay. Especially since the registration information on the poster’s user account leads straight to James Crise’s email and Myspace page.

So I went and did a little digging at the Pennsylvania Magisterial District Judge Docket Sheet search engine, and found the docket sheets on this case. Oddly enough, Crise has not been acquitted. In fact, Crise hasn’t gone to trial yet. He’s actually had three continuances on a preliminary hearing. The next prelim on this case is May 1, 2008, and I can assure you, dear Denizens, I’ll be watching the docket.

Should Mr. Crise be found guilty, this article will be updated to reflect that. Should he be acquitted, this article will reflect that as well. But really, Jim? After posting lies about your acquittal and expecting us not to research, and threatening to sue this website? Even if you’re not a child molester, you’re kind of a jerk.

Update 8/10/08 – James Crise has now been charged with aggravated assault, statutory sexual intercourse, indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse (called first-degree sexual intercourse in charging docs), sexual assault, and corruption of minors. He bonded out on $15,000 cash on July 31, so I really hope he’s reading here.  Here’s the link to the new docket sheet listing his new, improved charges: (New, Improved Crise Charges)

What’s fun is that he was out on bond awaiting trial on the previous bunch of charges when he was arrested. Those charges are being transferred from the Magisterial docket to the Court of Common Pleas.
