McALLEN – This is a two part story each part containing equal amounts of vomit-inducing material. First, back in May Edwin Auner Morales tried raping a 13-year-old girl who was babysitting his kids. The girl fought back and was able to get away and report him. Morales admitted what he had done, including that he was aware of her age when he attempted to rape her. Morales was charged with charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a possible fine of $10,000. Carrollton, Georgia – Last Tuesday, Lashirey Bryant had a family emergency to attend to out of town, so, she put in a call to her regular babysitter, Tammy Truitt, and asked her to come over and take care of the kiddos. Truitt was left in charge of four children, ages ranging from 1-9. Later that day, when the children’s grandmother arrived at the home to relieve the babysitter, she noticed her 1-year-old grandson was lifeless and unresponsive. After meeting in church, one woman offered to watch the other woman’s two small children – a 6-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother – while she was at work during the day. Hobart, IN- “She was wearing an orange skirt and a tank top with orange and green stripes.” That was what 18-year old Engelico Castillo told the police on the night of June 16, when her 2-year old cousin, Jada Justice, went missing. Castillo said she went to a gas station in Gary and left Jada in her car-seat in the back seat of her unlocked vehicle while she went inside to purchase cigarettes and milk. When she returned, Jada was gone.  Panic engulfed the child’s family, police, and surrounding community as they searched for the missing child. Other customers at the gas station told police they saw no one around Castillo’s car that night. Police brought dogs to aid in the search, but found no scent of Jada in the area. Police also sought the assistance of other agencies, including the F.B.I. as well as the U.S. Marshal’s Service. Sarasota, Florida — Mark Dungan-Carpenter, 21, lived at Sandy’s Family Childcare, a private residential child care facility owned by his mother and operated by his grandmother.  Although he wasn’t an employee, he was occasionally paid to babysit the kids.  According to police, Dungan-Carpenter was doing a little more than babysitting.  He was arrested for sexually battering a 5-year-old boy at his home daycare. Morristown, NJ- 60-year old Louis Masino is a Meagan’s Law registrant. In 1996, Masino was accused of molesting and endangering the welfare of a child, who was a family friend. He was sentenced to Community Supervision for life as a “Tier-2 moderate” offender. One of the conditions of his parole was that he was to have no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18.
