Utah - Derrick Lee Crispin, 29, was arrested for investigation of two counts of second degree felony child abuse in what Salt Lake County investigators are calling one of the worst cases of child abuse they’ve ever seen. “In my 31 years with the sheriff’s office … I rate this in the top five worst (child abuse) cases,” said Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Lt. Paul Jaroscak, who used to work in the family crimes unit. “Detectives who were looking at the injuries of this child were sickened.” A 2-year-old girl was brought to St. Mark’s Hospital by her mother, Amy Roberts, 30. Springfield, Ill - Daniel Heninger, 37, is now in jail for beating the shit out of his girlfriend’s 6-year-old daughter. He has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery of a child. Earlier in the evening, Heninger and his girlfriend got into an argument. Heninger started to attack his girlfriend when the little girl tried to get in between them. Heninger then did what any real man would do by picking the little girl up and throwing her to the ground multiple times causing severe head trauma and numerous fractures. She will spend Christmas in Saint John’s Hospital. Her injuries were considered life threatening, but she is in stable condition. Two other children, ages 3 months and 13 months, were at the house, but were not battered.

Las Vegas - Trevor Carter, 21 and Amber Scott, 24, have been arrested and charged for the death of Scott’s 4-year-old son Trenton Quick. Police allege that the couple tried to hide the abuse the boy suffered. They placed his dead body in a car in which Carter drove out to the desert and “wrecked” in an attempt to make it look as if the boy had died from the injuries received in the accident. SOMERSET, Pa. – A 2-year-old boy was taken to the hospital for a fractured skull and broken leg supposedly the result from a fall. Doctors did not agree with that assessment and called police. The boy’s father, Jason Flick, 27, was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children and related charges. It seems as if this dickhead had been abusing the kid for a good bit and they included some pretty sadistic stuff.
- Draping a live snake around the 2-year-old son’s neck
- Feeding him hot sauce
- Being shot with an air “soft gun” that caused welts
- Being struck so hard that he lost his breath
- Having beer put in his “sippy cup.”
- Striking him in the head with a metal toy handgun with such force that the child was knocked to the ground.
- Used a marker to draw a penis on his face and profanity on the rest of his body.
The 19-year-old mother of the child is also being investigated.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The sad-sack, infant killin’ babysitter, Melissa Thompson, 36, is back in the news. The married mother of three has now officially been charged with murder by a Clay County grand jury for shaking 4-month old Jacob Mattingly like a maraca. The 4-month-old died from injuries while she was watching the infant. She initially told police that her toddler had fell ont he baby, then later stated she hit the Jacob’s head on the wooden end of a changing table. BROWNSTOWN, Pa. – Heather Kohler, 20, left her 15-month old baby in the care of Alexander Zack, 19, while she went out to buy crack. This was after they both smoked crack and ingested crushed Percoset. At some point during the nine hours she was gone, the baby ended up falling down 14 steps where it laid at the bottom, unconscious. Zack did what any concerned person would do, and bit the baby on the arm. He also opted to not call 911 until Heather came back home. The baby had to be flown to the hospital suffering bleeding on the brain.
Now get this, this isn’t the first time the baby had injuries. The infant had fell down the stairs once before, and two weeks ago, the baby had suffered a burned finger from Zack’s cigarette. In neither of those two cases was the baby taken to the hospital. Both Alexander Zack and Heather Kohler are charged with several crimes including endangering the welfare of children.

INDIANAPOLIS — One month after being placed back in the custody of her biological mother, 3-year-old Tajanay Bailey was dead. She had been beaten and tortured to death by her mother, Charity Bailey and her boyfriend Lawrence Green, both 20. Over the course of Thanksgiving week, while you spent time with family and friends, they are accused of hanging Tajanay in a closet for wetting herself, kneeing Tajanay in the head, punching her in the chest and whipping her with a belt. Police said they and paramedics were called to Bailey’s apartment, an apartment that was in squalor, after Tajanay stopped breathing. The girl was pronounced dead at a hospital about 30 minutes later.
Tajanay had been in with a foster mother, Janice Springfield, for most of her life. Tajanay’s foster mother warned the state’s child welfare system that the girl would be in danger in Bailey’s custody. The girl and her 6-month-old brother had been removed from Bailey twice before. Once for medical neglect, and a second time for child abuse.…

PLANO, Texas – Padmaja S. Enjeti, 37, dropped her daughter over the second floor railing of the family’s home where she landed on the floor below. She then went and picked up her daughter, went back up the stairs and did it again. She then called 911, telling them she had dropped her baby on its head. The infant suffered a skull fracture, but is now out of the hospital she, along with her 8-year-old brother, have both been placed in foster care. Ms. Enjeti told police that she suffers from a chemical imbalance and this was the first time she had tried to hurt her daughter. Ms. Enjeti and her husband are from India and have lived in the U.S. for 12 years and in Plano for the past decade, her attorneys say. They say the couple are professionals in the information technology industry and are devout Hindus.

Liberty, Mo – Melissa was charged with felony child endangerment after a 4-month-old boy she was baby-sitting suffered critical injuries, apparently from being shaken. Thompson, 36, was watching the baby at her home when she called the baby’s mother and stated that the infant was lifeless and “was not acting right”. Her husband called 911 when he came home from work. The infant was taken to Liberty Hospital, then airlifted to Children’s Mercy. Doctors called police after finding that the infant had head trauma, hemorrhaging and facial bruising.
Melissa first stated that she thought her son had fallen ont he baby, but later confessed to hitting the baby’s head on the wooden portion of a changing table. When asked if she had shaken the baby, she asked for an attorney.

LINCOLN PARK, Mich. – Neveah Richardson, 9-days-old, died from injuries sustained from a sexual assault, police say. The girl’s mother told police that she woke up with her daughter on her chest and found her bleeding from the face and mouth. On the way to the hospital, Christopher Richardson, the baby’s father, beat the mother while in the car. Upon examination, health officials found that Neveah was bleeding from the mouth, nose and rectum. Prosecutors have ruled out no one and are considering any family members or friends in the home of Neveah between Nov 22nd and 23rd as suspects in the girls death.

Wendi pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree child abuse. Her sentencing is set for May 8. Wendi Scott, 33, told Frederick County Circuit Court Judge G. Edward Dwyer Jr. she realizes he could send her to prison for as much as 25 years.

Update 9/16/08 – Stevenson and Martin pleaded no contest to child abuse charges and on Monday, were sentenced to prison for 15 years. This will be followed by 10 years of probation and an order from the judge that they never be around children again. The boy is still in the care of the Department of Children.
These beautiful ladies, Suzette Stevenson, 45, and Jamie Lynn Martin, 26, are charged with aggravated child abuse. A 7-year-old boy, who weighed 37 pounds, was found wandering around a Westgate Resort parking lot in Kissimmee disoriented and with visible injuries. He had been drugged and left in the car while the two women checked on time-share property.
The boy suffered from severe malnourishment, internal injuries to his stomach area, a severely injured foot, and numerous cuts, bruises, and abrasions all over his body. The boy also had numerous injuries including ligature marks on his wrists and burns inside his ears that appeared to be caused by a cigarette. The abuse appeared to have been going on for several months.…

Lowell, Mass – Thy Chan, 26, possibly under the influence of drugs, attacked his 22-month old son and bit off the infants lower lip. Officers found the child covered in blood as well as his lower lip. Ty Chan was found in a bedroom acting erratically. He will be charged with mayhem, assault and battery on a child, and domestic assault. Doctors at Children's Hospital in Boston attempted to reattach the lip and say his condition was improving, and efforts to reattach the lip were initially successful.
