ASHEBORO, N.C. — Laura Hunsucker, 23, told police that while she was at Frazier Park Sunday afternoon with her children, a woman snatched her 4-year-old daughter from a swing while she was getting one of her other children out of their stroller.

Hunsucker said she chased after the woman, described as a Hispanic female wearing a green shirt and pink pants, who eventually let go of her daughter but continued running away. Not surprisingly, the Asheboro Police Department dispatched numerous officers to the scene as the attempted abduction was reported, but they were unable to find the evil, Hispanic toddler taker.

Even though Hunsucker was lucky and was able to retrieved her daughter unharmed, parents were put on edge as news broke of a woman trying to snatch children of off Frazier Park playground equipment and forcing them into a life of making Nike soccer balls.

Here’s one of the original newscasts of the failed abduction:

Now it’s being reported Hunsucker made the entire thing up. Hunsucker admitted to police that she panicked and made up the story after her child had gotten away from her.…

CRANSTON, RI — Back in 1975, Michael Woodmansee, then 16,  kidnapped and murdered 5-year-old Jason Foreman. Eight years later he would be sentenced to 40 years in jail after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and kidnapping. Now it is being reported that Woodmansee is set to be released 12 years earlier than expected.

Because of a longstanding law, Woodmansee has earned up to 12 days off his sentence for every month he behaved and held a job during his last 28 years in prison. This prompted outrage from the Foreman’s family, leading to his father, John Foreman, going on air and promising he would kill Woodmansee if he is released.

Speaking to WPRO’s John DePetro John Foreman said, I do intend, if this man is released anywhere in my vicinity, or if I can find him after the fact, I do intend to kill this man.”

Can’t say I blame him. The kid was abducted by Woodmansee, who lived down the street, on his mother’s 25th birthday. Foreman admitted he had long fantasized about killing someone, and 5-year-old Jason just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.…

Bonita Springs, FL –The lovely lady to the left, 38-year-old Melissa Graham, was arrested Wednesday evening after police accused her of skipping out on a restaurant bill, leaving her 12-year-old daughter behind, and later calling the police to report the kid had been kidnapped.

According to the woman’s kid, after consuming a few glasses of wine at the Bonefish Grill that evening, Graham started acting a little weird. The girl told police Graham spit her bread out all over the table, shoved her food across the table, telling the kid to “get a box” before exiting the restaurant, leaving the 12-year-old sitting there.

A short time later, the girl and the restaurant manager went outside and found Graham sitting in her car. The manager told Graham she needed to pay up. Unable to convince the manager she had left a credit card on the table, Graham reportedly insisted the other person they were dining with agreed to pay the bill, but the only other person there was the kid. Flustered, the nucking fut drove away, leaving her daughter standing in the parking lot.…

PATTERSON, Calif. — Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christensen said that they have retrieved a body from a California canal and that it is the body of 4-year-old Juliani Cardenas.

On January 18th, Cardenas was snatched from his grandmother’s arms by his mother’s ex-boyfriend, Jose Esteban Rodriguez.

Initial thoughts were that he had simply kidnapped to boy but that he had not harmed him. the boy’s mother was confident that Rodriguez would not hurt the boy even though he was physically abusive towards her.

Investigators began searching a canal a few days after the abduction after a farm-worker reported seeing a car matching the one Rodriguez was driving go into the water.

Searchers would retrieve many cars from the canal, but it wasn’t unit Friday night that divers in the canal located the vehicle belonging to Rodriguez. There was no sign of the him or Cardenas until today when a water authority employee found the body of a child at around 7:38 a.m.

I was pretty sure that this story was going to end exactly the way it has, but a small part of me was hoping that Rodriguez had faked a murder-suicide and in reality was holed up in a motel somewhere watching cartoons with Cardenas and feeding him McDonalds.…

Carroll County, GA — Tina Camacaro, 51, is facing felony kidnapping charges after police say she walked into her estranged husband’s home in the middle of the night and snatched his new girlfriend’s toddler. The child, 18-month-old Jason Oral, was found safe in a vacant wooded lot about three-quarters of a mile from his home nearly five hours later.

The tot’s mother, Brenda Aviles, told police she, her boyfriend and a 3-year-old child left the home at about 2:30 a.m. to get medicine for the toddler, leaving him in the care of the boyfriend’s 17-year-old daughter. When the trio returned at about 3:00 a.m., Jason was gone. Investigators immediately used the reverse 911 emergency notification system to notify residents of the missing boy and the search began.

A neighbor spotted the child in the vacant lot at about 8:40 Monday morning. He was cold and wet, but uninjured. He was examined at a local hospital and released. Aviles believed she would never lay eyes on her child again. “I was crying like a baby, but when I saw him, my world came back to me,” she said.…

McCOOK, Nebraska — The body found in the Bartley Cemetery has been positively identified as 14-year-old Kailee Clapp, the teen who was reported missing earlier that morning.

Clapp was last seen by family members Thursday night. She was reported missing on Friday morning when she was not found in her room before school. At first it wasn’t believed the teen was in any danger, possibly having left on her own. Her mother, Nora Clapp, even tried getting in touch with her that day through her Facebook page asking her daughter to contact someone.

It wasn’t until police found a large pool of blood in an alley no more than 100 yards from her back door that it was believed her life was in danger. That afternoon, police would bring in 18-year-old Stathis Sebastian Kirkpatrick for questioning. Afterwards, police would locate Clapp’s body in the cemetery. Reports are that she had been mutilated.

Kirkpatrick is being held on $1 million dollars bail, charges pending autopsy reports. His relationship to Clapp has not been revealed, but I did hear a report on the news that he was not a boyfriend.…

St. Cloud, FL — Police responded to the St. Cloud Wal-Mart just after 6:30 p.m on Friday after receiving a report of a kidnapping. According to authorities, a young boy at the store said he was approached by a heavy set white man with dark hair who threatened to stab him if he didn’t leave the store with him – the man did not show a weapon. The man reportedly drove the boy to the Home Depot parking lot next door and performed a sex act on himself. Police said the man did not expose himself to the child, nor did he touch the boy. After the alleged act, he returned the child to WalMart and the police were called. After viewing store surveillance video, police released a picture of the alleged perv, as well as a description of his vehicle. Early Sunday morning, after hearing he had been featured in local news reports as a suspect in the kidnapping of a minor, 55-year-old Gordon Libby turned himself in.…

Toronto, Canada– Michelle Marie Gopaul, a 24-year old aspiring actress, is facing charges of abduction of a minor after she allegedly staged a casting call for babies in an effort to abduct one. Police say that shortly after moving to Canada, Gopaul placed an advertisement on Craigslist offering $15,000 for a newborn to act in a Bollywood-style film. On December 30, Gopaul posed as a casting director and waited in a Toronto building for parents to arrive. When the parents of a 1-month old baby girl allowed Gopaul to take their child into another room, Gopaul left the building and fled with the child in a taxi. Hours later, with the assistance of the public, Gopaul was caught and the child found unharmed. Gopaul’s lawyer, Gary Batasar, says his client is supposed to be presumed innocent because the issue has not been decided in a courtroom. “There is no evidence at this point that she did anything wrong,” Batasar said.…

Mona NelsonHouston, TX –I have been following the Jonathan Foster story closely since the Amber Alert was issued on December 27.

To fill in those who have not heard of the case, or those that have somehow missed Morbid’s previous post, Jonathan Foster was the 12 year old boy that went missing shortly before 2 pm on Christmas Eve. His body, burnt beyond recognition, was discovered in a ditch just a few miles from the Houston home he was abducted from.

After video surveillance from a nearby business, along with multiple eyewitness reports, placed her at the home around the time of Jonathan’s disappearance, 44-year-old Mona Nelson had her residence searched. Shortly after that, she was arrested on Capital Murder charges.

Apparently the MONSTER, also known as Mona, was friends with Sharon Ennamorato, Jonathan’s mother’s roommate.  Authorities still have not released the full extent of Ennamorato and Nelson’s relationship, but according to some sources, they may have been lovers at one time or another, and that may have fueled Nelson to hurt Jonathan’s mom, Angela Davis.…

BALTIMORE, MD — Here’s the second missing person story about 16-year-old Phylicia Barnes, who has been missing over a week while visiting family in Baltimore.

While visiting three half-siblings during Christmas break, Barnes vanished from the Reisterstown Square Apartments on Dec 28. Unlike the Dunn case below, police in this case do seem to expect foul play. “Detectives are growing increasingly concerned with this disappearance and now suspect foul play, possibly abduction,” police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in an e-mail. “Investigators have no leads.”

Barnes left the apartment to get something to eat and has not been seen or heard from since. She missed her plane back home, left behind personal items in the apartment she was staying, and the cell phone she took with her has not been used since that day. That bit of information is the one that has me thinking this will not have a happy ending.

Readers of this site know that an unused cell phone almost always leads to a missing person investigation turning into a murder investigation.…

COLORADO CITY, TX — Good morning, fuckos. I figured I would start out the day by reporting on two missing person cases making the rounds in the news this morning, starting with 13-year-old Hailey Dunn. Nancy Grace is covering this one so you may hear a lot more about her if she doesn’t turn up. Hailey has not been seen since December 27 after telling her mother’s boyfriend she was walking to a friends house to spend the night. She never made it there and oddly, the girl’s house she was supposed to be staying at has stated she wasn’t even aware Hailey was coming over. Hmmm. Police initially thought she may have been a runaway, but are now classifying her as a missing person, but not necessarily an abduction. Colorado City Police, Snyder Police, Mitchell County Sheriff’s deputies, Texas Rangers and the District Attorney’s Office have all joined in the search. Members of her community have even helped raise $10,000 to be used as reward money for anyone who helps bring her back home.…

Houston, TX — Houston police arrested 21-year-old LaQuinta Latrice Kemp at the Almeda Mall on Christmas Eve after she got busted shoplifting clothes from a Macy’s. Not only did she try and steal merchandise, she punched the employee who confronted her before running out of the store. Kemp also left something behind in the form of her her 1-year-old baby boy sitting in his stroller. She was apprehended outside of the mall and taken into custody. Her son was handed over to her grandmother while CPS conducts an investigation and while Kemp was taken to jail on child abandonment and burglary charges. This is not Kemp’s first run-in with police as she is currently on probation for a previous burglary charge. No mugshot with this one as Harris County, Texas does not release mugshots unless the accused is convicted. I’m sure that’s not going to be an issue here so I will replace the Jane’s Addiction pic with Kemp’s as soon as we get it.…

More Trial Delays In Case Of Rowan Ford

December 13, 2010 at 8:38 am by

Stella, MO — We got an email the other day asking why there were a lack of updates from us regarding Rowan Ford, the 9-year-old girl who was raped and murdered by Christopher Collings and her step-father, David Spears. The reason for that is because there really isn’t anything to report aside from more of the same, meaning there has been yet another delay. Collings was supposed to see his day in court on January 13, but continued challenges to possible prosecution evidence and other trial procedures caused a judge postpone the trial until April 7. His defense attorneys are arguing that Collings’ confession is not admissible in court.  It’s going to be an interesting trial as Collings and Spears both admit to killing Ford. Collings said he abducted Ford from her home, a trailer owned by Spears where she lived with him and her mother, and brought her to his trailer in Wheaton where he raped her and then strangled her before dumping her in a sinkhole. Spears said he arrived at Collings’ home to find Collings’ raping his stepdaughter and decided to participate rather than stop the assault and that he was the one who strangled Ford before dumping her body in the sinkhole.…

San Francisco, CA — I had every intention of updating this story over the weekend, but was slapped with a ragin’ case of the winter crud. Anyway, if you have been following the Brittany Mae Smith case, then you are already aware that she was found alive and unharmed on Friday – as was her alleged abductor, 32-year-old Jeffrey Easley. The two hadn’t been seen since December 3, when they were captured on surveillance video buying camping gear at a Walmart in Salem, Virginia. About a week later, an alert clerk spotted the pair outside of a Safeway grocery store and alerted authorities. Easley was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in San Francisco pending his extradition to Roanoke County. He’s looking at a felony abduction charge in Roanoke County and felony counts of attempted credit card fraud and credit card larceny in the City of Roanoke. Brittany was taken into protective custody and will soon be reunited with her family. Authorities have stated that Brittany is being cooperative with investigators and is fully aware that her mother is dead.…

Virginia — An Amber Alert has been issued for a 12-year-old girl whose mother was found dead inside their home. After 41-year-old Tina Smith had not shown up for work in three days, a co-worker went to her home and found her dead inside. Her daughter, Brittany Mae Smith, was missing along with Tina’s 32-year-old boyfriend, Jeff Easley. Tina met Jeff over the Internet and after some time flirting online, Easley eventually moved in with Smith and her daughter a few months ago. “Police have said that the young lady is in extreme danger,” said Teresa Hamilton Hall, public information director for Roanoke County. Police had originally shown up at the house over the weekend after Smith had failed to show up for work, but found no reasons to break into the home and no vehicles in the driveway. Easley’s red 2000 Chevrolet SUV was located by police but Smith’s car, a silver 2005 Dodge Neon sedan, Virginia tag XKF-2365, is still missing. Police aren’t calling Easley a suspect in Tina Smith’s homicide, or revealing how she was killed, but the alert explicitly names him Brittany Smith’s abductor.…

MARINETTE, Wis. — The 15-year-old sophomore at Marinette High school who held 23 classmates and a teacher hostage for more than five hours on Monday shot himself after police entered the classroom. The teen was well-liked and a good student and as of now, no one is sure why he decided to hold a class hostage. Reports are that students were watching a film in class, when the teen pulled out a gun and shot at the projector. Witnesses say he seemed depressed, talked with the students about hunting and fishing and made no demands or requests of authorities. The only communication he made with police was through the teacher, who acted as a mediator, via a cell phone. At around 8:00 p.m., police heard three gunshots fired inside the classroom and made entry. They confronted the student, who responded by shooting himself. Once inside police would find a duffel bag containing ammo as well as shell casings from a .22-caliber semi-automatic and a 9-millimeter semi-automatic. The suspect is currently in the hospital in serious condition, none of his hostages were physically harmed.…

HAMILTON, Ohio — Police have arrested 44-year-old William Manis, accusing him of holding a prostitute captive for more than a week and raping her repeatedly. The 22-year-old woman says she went with Manis willingly, but once inside his home things turned all kinds of messed up when he tried to shove his knit cap in her mouth. “I started screaming and fighting, and he grabbed me up by my hair and threw me in the closet and started beating me with a pair of handcuffs until I quit moving and talking,” the woman said. “He would slam it so it was all the way shut, and he would take a nail and hammer it in the door so it wouldn’t open.” She says she was kept in a closet as a sex slave, raped 18 times over the course of 10 days. “He would let me out only when he wanted to talk to me, rape me, feed me or bathe me,” she said. Whenever visitors would show up at the home, she would be hogtied and gagged inside the closet so she could not move or alert anyone she was being held against her will.…

LIVERPOOL, NEW YORK — Emergency crews and law enforcement agencies are conducting a large-scale search within a wooded area off Waterhouse Road, trying to locate a 20-year-old college student who has been missing since Friday, Nov. 19. Jenni-Lyn Watson had returned home from Mercyhurst College for Thanksgiving break. Watson’s cell phone, a Verizon LG enV3, has been turned on “intermittently” since her disappearance and the wooded area searches are focused on is where they say her cell phone, which is no longer on, was last used. According to Devin Ruic, a friend and classmate of Watson’s, she had been having problems with a man stalking her. Police say they have no suspects or people of interest, but did confirmed people are being interviewed. Some people posting on some of the news articles mention a failed abduction that occurred a week before Watson went missing. A woman fought off a man who tried to abduct her as she was walking to her car in the parking lot of a North Syracuse apartment complex.…
