Mona NelsonHouston, TX –I have been following the Jonathan Foster story closely since the Amber Alert was issued on December 27.

To fill in those who have not heard of the case, or those that have somehow missed Morbid’s previous post, Jonathan Foster was the 12 year old boy that went missing shortly before 2 pm on Christmas Eve. His body, burnt beyond recognition, was discovered in a ditch just a few miles from the Houston home he was abducted from.

After video surveillance from a nearby business, along with multiple eyewitness reports, placed her at the home around the time of Jonathan’s disappearance, 44-year-old Mona Nelson had her residence searched. Shortly after that, she was arrested on Capital Murder charges.

Apparently the MONSTER, also known as Mona, was friends with Sharon Ennamorato, Jonathan’s mother’s roommate.  Authorities still have not released the full extent of Ennamorato and Nelson’s relationship, but according to some sources, they may have been lovers at one time or another, and that may have fueled Nelson to hurt Jonathan’s mom, Angela Davis.…

BALTIMORE, MD – Here’s the second missing person story about 16-year-old Phylicia Barnes, who has been missing over a week while visiting family in Baltimore.

While visiting three half-siblings during Christmas break, Barnes vanished from the Reisterstown Square Apartments on Dec 28. Unlike the Dunn case below, police in this case do seem to expect foul play. “Detectives are growing increasingly concerned with this disappearance and now suspect foul play, possibly abduction,” police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in an e-mail. “Investigators have no leads.”

Barnes left the apartment to get something to eat and has not been seen or heard from since. She missed her plane back home, left behind personal items in the apartment she was staying, and the cell phone she took with her has not been used since that day. That bit of information is the one that has me thinking this will not have a happy ending.

Readers of this site know that an unused cell phone almost always leads to a missing person investigation turning into a murder investigation.…

COLORADO CITY, TX – Good morning, fuckos. I figured I would start out the day by reporting on two missing person cases making the rounds in the news this morning, starting with 13-year-old Hailey Dunn. Nancy Grace is covering this one so you may hear a lot more about her if she doesn’t turn up. Hailey has not been seen since December 27 after telling her mother’s boyfriend she was walking to a friends house to spend the night. She never made it there and oddly, the girl’s house she was supposed to be staying at has stated she wasn’t even aware Hailey was coming over. Hmmm. Police initially thought she may have been a runaway, but are now classifying her as a missing person, but not necessarily an abduction. Colorado City Police, Snyder Police, Mitchell County Sheriff’s deputies, Texas Rangers and the District Attorney’s Office have all joined in the search. Members of her community have even helped raise $10,000 to be used as reward money for anyone who helps bring her back home.…

Houston, TX — Houston police arrested 21-year-old LaQuinta Latrice Kemp at the Almeda Mall on Christmas Eve after she got busted shoplifting clothes from a Macy’s. Not only did she try and steal merchandise, she punched the employee who confronted her before running out of the store. Kemp also left something behind in the form of her her 1-year-old baby boy sitting in his stroller. She was apprehended outside of the mall and taken into custody. Her son was handed over to her grandmother while CPS conducts an investigation and while Kemp was taken to jail on child abandonment and burglary charges. This is not Kemp’s first run-in with police as she is currently on probation for a previous burglary charge. No mugshot with this one as Harris County, Texas does not release mugshots unless the accused is convicted. I’m sure that’s not going to be an issue here so I will replace the Jane’s Addiction pic with Kemp’s as soon as we get it.…

More Trial Delays In Case Of Rowan Ford

December 13, 2010 at 8:38 am by

Stella, MO – We got an email the other day asking why there were a lack of updates from us regarding Rowan Ford, the 9-year-old girl who was raped and murdered by Christopher Collings and her step-father, David Spears. The reason for that is because there really isn’t anything to report aside from more of the same, meaning there has been yet another delay. Collings was supposed to see his day in court on January 13, but continued challenges to possible prosecution evidence and other trial procedures caused a judge postpone the trial until April 7. His defense attorneys are arguing that Collings’ confession is not admissible in court.  It’s going to be an interesting trial as Collings and Spears both admit to killing Ford. Collings said he abducted Ford from her home, a trailer owned by Spears where she lived with him and her mother, and brought her to his trailer in Wheaton where he raped her and then strangled her before dumping her in a sinkhole. Spears said he arrived at Collings’ home to find Collings’ raping his stepdaughter and decided to participate rather than stop the assault and that he was the one who strangled Ford before dumping her body in the sinkhole.…

San Francisco, CA – I had every intention of updating this story over the weekend, but was slapped with a ragin’ case of the winter crud. Anyway, if you have been following the Brittany Mae Smith case, then you are already aware that she was found alive and unharmed on Friday – as was her alleged abductor, 32-year-old Jeffrey Easley. The two hadn’t been seen since December 3, when they were captured on surveillance video buying camping gear at a Walmart in Salem, Virginia. About a week later, an alert clerk spotted the pair outside of a Safeway grocery store and alerted authorities. Easley was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in San Francisco pending his extradition to Roanoke County. He’s looking at a felony abduction charge in Roanoke County and felony counts of attempted credit card fraud and credit card larceny in the City of Roanoke. Brittany was taken into protective custody and will soon be reunited with her family. Authorities have stated that Brittany is being cooperative with investigators and is fully aware that her mother is dead.…

Virginia — An Amber Alert has been issued for a 12-year-old girl whose mother was found dead inside their home. After 41-year-old Tina Smith had not shown up for work in three days, a co-worker went to her home and found her dead inside. Her daughter, Brittany Mae Smith, was missing along with Tina’s 32-year-old boyfriend, Jeff Easley. Tina met Jeff over the Internet and after some time flirting online, Easley eventually moved in with Smith and her daughter a few months ago. “Police have said that the young lady is in extreme danger,” said Teresa Hamilton Hall, public information director for Roanoke County. Police had originally shown up at the house over the weekend after Smith had failed to show up for work, but found no reasons to break into the home and no vehicles in the driveway. Easley’s red 2000 Chevrolet SUV was located by police but Smith’s car, a silver 2005 Dodge Neon sedan, Virginia tag XKF-2365, is still missing. Police aren’t calling Easley a suspect in Tina Smith’s homicide, or revealing how she was killed, but the alert explicitly names him Brittany Smith’s abductor.…

MARINETTE, Wis. – The 15-year-old sophomore at Marinette High school who held 23 classmates and a teacher hostage for more than five hours on Monday shot himself after police entered the classroom. The teen was well-liked and a good student and as of now, no one is sure why he decided to hold a class hostage. Reports are that students were watching a film in class, when the teen pulled out a gun and shot at the projector. Witnesses say he seemed depressed, talked with the students about hunting and fishing and made no demands or requests of authorities. The only communication he made with police was through the teacher, who acted as a mediator, via a cell phone. At around 8:00 p.m., police heard three gunshots fired inside the classroom and made entry. They confronted the student, who responded by shooting himself. Once inside police would find a duffel bag containing ammo as well as shell casings from a .22-caliber semi-automatic and a 9-millimeter semi-automatic. The suspect is currently in the hospital in serious condition, none of his hostages were physically harmed.…

HAMILTON, Ohio – Police have arrested 44-year-old William Manis, accusing him of holding a prostitute captive for more than a week and raping her repeatedly. The 22-year-old woman says she went with Manis willingly, but once inside his home things turned all kinds of messed up when he tried to shove his knit cap in her mouth. “I started screaming and fighting, and he grabbed me up by my hair and threw me in the closet and started beating me with a pair of handcuffs until I quit moving and talking,” the woman said. “He would slam it so it was all the way shut, and he would take a nail and hammer it in the door so it wouldn’t open.” She says she was kept in a closet as a sex slave, raped 18 times over the course of 10 days. “He would let me out only when he wanted to talk to me, rape me, feed me or bathe me,” she said. Whenever visitors would show up at the home, she would be hogtied and gagged inside the closet so she could not move or alert anyone she was being held against her will.…

LIVERPOOL, NEW YORK — Emergency crews and law enforcement agencies are conducting a large-scale search within a wooded area off Waterhouse Road, trying to locate a 20-year-old college student who has been missing since Friday, Nov. 19. Jenni-Lyn Watson had returned home from Mercyhurst College for Thanksgiving break. Watson’s cell phone, a Verizon LG enV3, has been turned on “intermittently” since her disappearance and the wooded area searches are focused on is where they say her cell phone, which is no longer on, was last used. According to Devin Ruic, a friend and classmate of Watson’s, she had been having problems with a man stalking her. Police say they have no suspects or people of interest, but did confirmed people are being interviewed. Some people posting on some of the news articles mention a failed abduction that occurred a week before Watson went missing. A woman fought off a man who tried to abduct her as she was walking to her car in the parking lot of a North Syracuse apartment complex.…

Woman Charged After Faking Her Own Abduction

November 23, 2010 at 10:55 am by

Brandon, Florida – Some bimbo just got arrested for filing a false report after she faked her own abduction to get away from her boyfriend. Leanna Ashley Duran, 22, stepped outside her apartment with her cell phone telling her live-in boyfriend that she was going to call her mother. At around 1 a.m., 30 minutes after she had stepped out, the boyfriend received a text from Duran that read “Bab. Help”. Fearing she had been abducted, the boyfriend did the right thing and called police. Ten hours later, Duran showed back up to the apartment unharmed. After being questioned by investigators she admitted that she had not been abducted at all, but rather had skipped off to a nearby La Quinta motel with a friend. She had sent the text assuming her boyfriend would think she had been abducted and then leave her alone…not call police. Duran was basing her assumptions on the fact she had done this before with another boyfriend and he didn’t do shit. You ever read one of those stories with a headline like “Men Gang Rape Infant After Witch Doctor Claims It Will Cure Their Migraines” and wonder how in the hell something like that can happen in 2010 until you see it occurred in Africa?…

HOWARD, Ohio — Police have located the bodies of a missing woman, her son and a family friend after receiving information from their suspected murderer’s lawyer. We know a lot of you have been following this nightmare of a case, and sadly it ends the way some had expected. A massive search for Tina Herrmann, 32, her son Kody Maynard, 10, her daughter Sarah Maynard,13, and family friend Stephanie Sprang, 41, began after Hermann did not show up for work earlier this month. Days later, on Nov 14th, Sarah would be found bound and gagged in the basement of 30-year-old Matthew Hoffman’s home. Police say he had been watching the family and was taken into custody and charged with her abduction. Yesterday investigators were called by Hoffman’s lawyers and given directions to a hollowed-out tree in Apple Valley, Ohio. Stuffed inside the tree the bodies of the missing trio were found wrapped in garbage bags still wearing the same clothes they had last been seen in. Police had already prepared the public that the outcome may not be a good one based on some of the blood evidence they had found, but were still holding out some hope that they would be found alive.…

NEWPORT, Mich. – When Robert Manley arrived home from work early Wednesday morning, his 15-year-old daughter was missing and the front door looked as if it had been forced open. 911 was called and an Amber Alert issued. Within hours Taylor E. Manley’s body, along with 38-year-old Raymond R. Bush, were found dead in his truck parked almost 200 miles away in a small Newport cemetery. She had been shot multiple times and he had shot himself. No definitive motive at this point, but it probably had a lot to do with the fact that Manley was scheduled to testify against Bush in a sexual assault case that morning. Bush was a friend of Taylor’s mother and he and the teen had been involved in a sexual relationship. When her mother found out about it, police were called and Bush was eventually charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony, and was free after posting $50,000 bond. Manley had been preyed upon by Bush, according to her father, and even had her name tattooed on the back of his neck.…

Visalia, CA – Last Friday, parents of children attending Visalia elementary schools received phone calls of a recording informing them that a man has attempted to lure children into his car near two different, local schools. The man is described as being a dark complected Hispanic male wearing black wire rimmed glasses and between the ages of 30 and 40 driving a tan or beige four door sedan. The first attempt was on Oct 13, near Washington Elementary where he pulled up alongside a young girl at about 8am and asked her a question. She ran away after turning around and seeing that he was not wearing any pants. The next attempt near Royal Oaks Elementary wasn’t reported until last Wednesday when a man matching the same description allegedly pulled up alongside a young boy and asked him repeatedly if he wanted a ride to which the boy repeatedly declined before the man drove off. Sergeant Steven Phillips with the Visalia Police Department says both children did exactly what they should have.…

Athens, AL – Back in October of 2009, Nathan Vossler was accused of kidnapping a 6-year-old neighbor girl in Clarksville, Tennessee. Police say Nathan pushed the child into his home and forcibly removed her coat and shoes. When the girl started crying, Nathan reportedly threatened to hurt her if she didn’t shut up. He eventually allowed the child to leave the apartment unharmed. He was arrested on charges of especially aggravated kidnapping and jailed on $50,000 bond. The day after his arrest, his wife, Mary Vossler, was arrested and charged with aggravated arson after she allegedly set fire to Nathan’s computer in what police believe was an attempt to destroy evidence against her husband. Though the hard drive survived the fire, a description of it’s contents has not been released. Whether Mary ever bonded out is unclear, but Nathan finally made bail in May or June of this year and left the state of Tennessee for Alabama. And he has apparently stepped up his game a notch. Just last week, a woman called police to report her 3-year-old child had been sexually assaulted while under Nathan’s care.…

Atlanta, Georgia — That 15-year-old boy who had been missing for a coupled days after being abducted during a possible car-jacking, drove himself home yesterday in the missing car. On Friday, Marco Antonio Gonzalez and his cousin were sitting in his parent’s Mercedes listening to music when two men approached and knocked on the window. Gonzalez locked the door, but his cousin got scared and exited the vehicle. When she opened the door to run, all of the doors unlocked and the men got inside and drove off with Gonzalez still inside. A little while later, the teen called his stepfather from his cell phone and told them he was ok and in the company of two men and had no idea what the hell was going on. No one heard from him until he pulled up in the missing car yesterday unharmed. No other information is being released to the media at this time although they know who one of the men are, publishing a photograph of a man known only as “Gabriel” and saying he may be armed and dangerous.…

San Diego, Cali. – When Sharrel Blankenbaker and her three grandchildren walked out of a Texas gas station they were followed by 58-year-old Gary Carner. They were unaware that 10 minutes earlier, he had attempted to abduct a store clerk from a nearby truck stop.  Carner would produce a gun and try to force 12-year-old Cassidy Blankenbaker into his truck but she refused and began yelling for help. That’s when Sharrel began fighting with Carner ordering him to let her granddaughter go. He did, but he also shot Sharrel in the back. She would die later at the hospital. Carner would flee the scene and abduct an 11-year-old girl who was only able to escape by jumping out of his truck when she saw police following behind them. Carner would pull over at another gas station and open fire on deputies. They returned fire, killing him. And here’s the strange thing. No one has any idea why Carner went on his crime spree. Aside from a DUI and a bad check, he has no record or history of doing anything like this.…

ERIE, PA – We had just received an email asking us to post a story of the possible abduction of 2-year-old Elizabeth Neimeic. Early Sunday morning, her parents discovered her missing when they went to wake her. The bedroom window was open and all of her clothes were missing from her dresser. I did a quick search for some more information, and sadly this one did not end well. Using fingerprints found at the scene, police were able to match them to Aaron Lee Noyer on Sunday. He would confess that he entered the home to rob it but encountered Neimeic. Noyer admitted that he took the girl from the home, sexually assaulted her and then strangled her. He is in custody and charged with criminal homicide/murder, aggravated assault, aggravated indecent assault, kidnapping, burglary and abuse of a corpse. Our condolences to the family, and the person who originally emailed us.…
