Chicago, IL – Convicted sex offender Tyrone Hill, 37, was arrested Saturday morning after he attemped to abduct a 2-year-old boy at Chicago’s North Avenue Beach. The boy’s father pulled his son to safety and notified police, who caught Hill before he was able to leave.
Armando Uvalle said Hill’s attempted abduction of his 2-year-old son, Isaiah, happened ‘in an instant’ and while his son was next to him. Uvalle told news reporters that Hill “just came out of nowhere and grabbed my kid.”
Uvalle said he pulled his son away and the man walked away. Uvalle said the whole process took seconds.
The father said he immediately went to an officer on beach patrol and explained what happened. That officer then put a flash message out via police computer, alerting all officers nearby with the description of the suspect: an African-American man carrying several bags, wearing a black shirt with a white logo and black pants.
Two other officers assigned to beach duty reportedly heard the alert on the radio and saw the man matching the description nearby.…
DENVER, CO — Police need your helping finding the man accused of abducting an 8-year-old girl last Thursday then sexually assaulting her before dropping her off at a gas station.
The girl was with her 11-year-old friend trying to catch a chihuahua that had gotten loose from its yard. They chased the dog into an alley where they met a man in a white van. He called the kids over to help him put something in a dumpster, but ended up throwing the girl into the van instead before reversing out of the alley.
Her friend ran away and notified his babysitter what had happened who then notified police. For almost two hours there were no signs of the girl until she was dropped off at a gas station three miles from where she had been taken. At first the news reports were that she had been released unharmed, but on Friday it was revealed that this was not the case. In the time the man had the girl, he had sexually assaulted her.…
Police say a 9-year-old boy was looking for his bike in a church parking lot a block from his home when 44-year-old Angela Charles, a woman the boy did not know, grabbed him by the arm. “You don’t have a mother, you have a brother waiting for you at the store,” Charles allegedly informed the boy. She then forced the crying boy to walk for approximately ½ mile to a store while telling him that she was his new mother.
A police officer parked in a parking lot reported seeing the boy walking towards him crying hysterically. The boy told the officer what had happened and pointed out Charles, who was standing right outside of the Purple Store, probably swatting at invisible demons. At around the same time, a witness to the abduction had already informed the boy’s mother and she was in the process of looking for him when she saw him talking with the police officer.…
Virginia Beach, VA –– Vincent Barrett, 27, is being held on a whole heap of charges after police say he entered a home through an unlocked door early Thursday morning and sexually assaulted a young girl in her bedroom.
The girl, who police say is under the age of 13, began screaming for her parents in the midst of the alleged assault, and her daddy came running. The man confronted Barrett inside the residence and a struggle ensued.
Barrett somehow made it out of the house alive, only to be confronted by Virginia’s finest. In a hurry to flee the scene, police say Barrett struck a parked car and two squad cars before leading police on a chase.
With the help of some spike strips and a K-9 officer, Barrett was soon taken into custody. And judging by that oversized maxi-pad stuck to Barrett’s neck, I’m guessing the four-legged officer did his job quite well.
Police believe Barrett had been drinking prior to the assault, but are not releasing his BAC at this time.…
PARSONS, Tenn. – When I first reported on Holly Bobo, the 20-year-old girl missing in Tennessee, it was based on the very first media reports that, as usual, were full of incorrect information. Three days later, and a clearer picture has developed surrounding Bobo’s apparent abduction.
Holly’s brother did not witness her being dragged from the family’s carport as originally reported. He saw her being led towards a wooded area by a man in camaflouge that he assumed was her boyfriend. He only saw him from the back and he had her by the arm or hand, but not in a forceful manner. He did not become alarmed until he found Bobo’s car still in the carport along with some blood. He called his mother, who was not at home, then called 911.
That paints an entirely different picture and answers my initial questions about the brothers involvement and makes a lot more sense. Police also are reporting he has been ruled out as a suspect. But that isn’t the only news about Bobo’s abduction.…
PARSONS, Tenn. — There’s a frantic search going on in western Tennessee after a 20-year-old nursing student was last seen being dragged into a wooded area by a man wearing camouflage.
Police say they recieved two 911 calls Wednesday morning. One from a neighbor who heard Bobo screaming and the other from her family. Both Bobo’s mother and her 25-year-old brother reportedly watched from a window as the man dragged Bobo from the carport towards a wooded area near the home.
Investigators would not say if family members tried to intervene or if they were suspected in the abduction, but did clarify that this was not a home invasion, that the suspect never made it inside the home.
About 250 volunteers searched the rural area around her home Wednesday, with around 50 people returning today to resume the search. Neighbors and nearby communities have shown up to help in the search, bring food and offer their support to Bobo’s family.
Bobo is a gorgeous, 5-foot-3, 110-pound blonde, last seen wearing a pink shirt and light blue jeans.…
The body of a 25-year-old mother of three was found dead yesterday, located in a church’s septic tank. Her estranged husband, along with his parents, have been arrested.
Summer Inman was abducted last Tuesday after leaving work as a janitor at a bank. Witnesses saw two men forcing Inman into a car driven by a blonde woman. Coincidentally, Inman’s estranged husband, William Inman Jr., was seen taking his white Crown Vic to a car wash the following day. Hours later, the car was taken to get new tires.
Summer was in the middle of a nasty divorce from William, and told the courts that he had threatened to kill her if she took his children away from him. Feeling they probably had enough circumstantial evidence, William and his parents, Sandra Inman and William Inman Sr., where taken into custody on Thursday. But they weren’t talking. That is, until Tuesday.
That’s when police say Sandra told them where Summer’s body was located. After six screws were removed from a septic system’s cover behind a church in nearby Nelsonville, Ohio, Inman’s body was discovered.…
ASHEBORO, N.C. — Laura Hunsucker, 23, told police that while she was at Frazier Park Sunday afternoon with her children, a woman snatched her 4-year-old daughter from a swing while she was getting one of her other children out of their stroller.
Hunsucker said she chased after the woman, described as a Hispanic female wearing a green shirt and pink pants, who eventually let go of her daughter but continued running away. Not surprisingly, the Asheboro Police Department dispatched numerous officers to the scene as the attempted abduction was reported, but they were unable to find the evil, Hispanic toddler taker.
Even though Hunsucker was lucky and was able to retrieved her daughter unharmed, parents were put on edge as news broke of a woman trying to snatch children of off Frazier Park playground equipment and forcing them into a life of making Nike soccer balls.
Here’s one of the original newscasts of the failed abduction:
Now it’s being reported Hunsucker made the entire thing up. Hunsucker admitted to police that she panicked and made up the story after her child had gotten away from her.…
CRANSTON, RI — Back in 1975, Michael Woodmansee, then 16, kidnapped and murdered 5-year-old Jason Foreman. Eight years later he would be sentenced to 40 years in jail after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and kidnapping. Now it is being reported that Woodmansee is set to be released 12 years earlier than expected.
Because of a longstanding law, Woodmansee has earned up to 12 days off his sentence for every month he behaved and held a job during his last 28 years in prison. This prompted outrage from the Foreman’s family, leading to his father, John Foreman, going on air and promising he would kill Woodmansee if he is released.
Speaking to WPRO’s John DePetro John Foreman said, “I do intend, if this man is released anywhere in my vicinity, or if I can find him after the fact, I do intend to kill this man.”
Can’t say I blame him. The kid was abducted by Woodmansee, who lived down the street, on his mother’s 25th birthday. Foreman admitted he had long fantasized about killing someone, and 5-year-old Jason just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.…
Bonita Springs, FL –The lovely lady to the left, 38-year-old Melissa Graham, was arrested Wednesday evening after police accused her of skipping out on a restaurant bill, leaving her 12-year-old daughter behind, and later calling the police to report the kid had been kidnapped.
According to the woman’s kid, after consuming a few glasses of wine at the Bonefish Grill that evening, Graham started acting a little weird. The girl told police Graham spit her bread out all over the table, shoved her food across the table, telling the kid to “get a box” before exiting the restaurant, leaving the 12-year-old sitting there.
A short time later, the girl and the restaurant manager went outside and found Graham sitting in her car. The manager told Graham she needed to pay up. Unable to convince the manager she had left a credit card on the table, Graham reportedly insisted the other person they were dining with agreed to pay the bill, but the only other person there was the kid. Flustered, the nucking fut drove away, leaving her daughter standing in the parking lot.…
On January 18th, Cardenas was snatched from his grandmother’s arms by his mother’s ex-boyfriend, Jose Esteban Rodriguez.
Initial thoughts were that he had simply kidnapped to boy but that he had not harmed him. the boy’s mother was confident that Rodriguez would not hurt the boy even though he was physically abusive towards her.
Investigators began searching a canal a few days after the abduction after a farm-worker reported seeing a car matching the one Rodriguez was driving go into the water.
Searchers would retrieve many cars from the canal, but it wasn’t unit Friday night that divers in the canal located the vehicle belonging to Rodriguez. There was no sign of the him or Cardenas until today when a water authority employee found the body of a child at around 7:38 a.m.
I was pretty sure that this story was going to end exactly the way it has, but a small part of me was hoping that Rodriguez had faked a murder-suicide and in reality was holed up in a motel somewhere watching cartoons with Cardenas and feeding him McDonalds.…
Carroll County, GA — Tina Camacaro, 51, is facing felony kidnapping charges after police say she walked into her estranged husband’s home in the middle of the night and snatched his new girlfriend’s toddler. The child, 18-month-old Jason Oral, was found safe in a vacant wooded lot about three-quarters of a mile from his home nearly five hours later.
The tot’s mother, Brenda Aviles, told police she, her boyfriend and a 3-year-old child left the home at about 2:30 a.m. to get medicine for the toddler, leaving him in the care of the boyfriend’s 17-year-old daughter. When the trio returned at about 3:00 a.m., Jason was gone. Investigators immediately used the reverse 911 emergency notification system to notify residents of the missing boy and the search began.
A neighbor spotted the child in the vacant lot at about 8:40 Monday morning. He was cold and wet, but uninjured. He was examined at a local hospital and released. Aviles believed she would never lay eyes on her child again. “I was crying like a baby, but when I saw him, my world came back to me,” she said.…
McCOOK, Nebraska — The body found in the Bartley Cemetery has been positively identified as 14-year-old Kailee Clapp, the teen who was reported missing earlier that morning.
Clapp was last seen by family members Thursday night. She was reported missing on Friday morning when she was not found in her room before school. At first it wasn’t believed the teen was in any danger, possibly having left on her own. Her mother, Nora Clapp, even tried getting in touch with her that day through her Facebook page asking her daughter to contact someone.
It wasn’t until police found a large pool of blood in an alley no more than 100 yards from her back door that it was believed her life was in danger. That afternoon, police would bring in 18-year-old Stathis Sebastian Kirkpatrick for questioning. Afterwards, police would locate Clapp’s body in the cemetery. Reports are that she had been mutilated.
Kirkpatrick is being held on $1 million dollars bail, charges pending autopsy reports. His relationship to Clapp has not been revealed, but I did hear a report on the news that he was not a boyfriend.…
St. Cloud, FL — Police responded to the St. Cloud Wal-Mart just after 6:30 p.m on Friday after receiving a report of a kidnapping. According to authorities, a young boy at the store said he was approached by a heavy set white man with dark hair who threatened to stab him if he didn’t leave the store with him – the man did not show a weapon. The man reportedly drove the boy to the Home Depot parking lot next door and performed a sex act on himself. Police said the man did not expose himself to the child, nor did he touch the boy. After the alleged act, he returned the child to WalMart and the police were called. After viewing store surveillance video, police released a picture of the alleged perv, as well as a description of his vehicle. Early Sunday morning, after hearing he had been featured in local news reports as a suspect in the kidnapping of a minor, 55-year-old Gordon Libby turned himself in.…
Toronto, Canada– Michelle Marie Gopaul, a 24-year old aspiring actress, is facing charges of abduction of a minor after she allegedly staged a casting call for babies in an effort to abduct one. Police say that shortly after moving to Canada, Gopaul placed an advertisement on Craigslist offering $15,000 for a newborn to act in a Bollywood-style film. On December 30, Gopaul posed as a casting director and waited in a Toronto building for parents to arrive. When the parents of a 1-month old baby girl allowed Gopaul to take their child into another room, Gopaul left the building and fled with the child in a taxi. Hours later, with the assistance of the public, Gopaul was caught and the child found unharmed. Gopaul’s lawyer, Gary Batasar, says his client is supposed to be presumed innocent because the issue has not been decided in a courtroom. “There is no evidence at this point that she did anything wrong,” Batasar said.…
To fill in those who have not heard of the case, or those that have somehow missed Morbid’s previous post, Jonathan Foster was the 12 year old boy that went missing shortly before 2 pm on Christmas Eve. His body, burnt beyond recognition, was discovered in a ditch just a few miles from the Houston home he was abducted from.
After video surveillance from a nearby business, along with multiple eyewitness reports, placed her at the home around the time of Jonathan’s disappearance, 44-year-old Mona Nelson had her residence searched. Shortly after that, she was arrested on Capital Murder charges.
Apparently the MONSTER, also known as Mona, was friends with Sharon Ennamorato, Jonathan’s mother’s roommate. Authorities still have not released the full extent of Ennamorato and Nelson’s relationship, but according to some sources, they may have been lovers at one time or another, and that may have fueled Nelson to hurt Jonathan’s mom, Angela Davis.…
BALTIMORE, MD — Here’s the second missing person story about 16-year-old Phylicia Barnes, who has been missing over a week while visiting family in Baltimore.
While visiting three half-siblings during Christmas break, Barnes vanished from the Reisterstown Square Apartments on Dec 28. Unlike the Dunn case below, police in this case do seem to expect foul play. “Detectives are growing increasingly concerned with this disappearance and now suspect foul play, possibly abduction,” police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in an e-mail. “Investigators have no leads.”
Barnes left the apartment to get something to eat and has not been seen or heard from since. She missed her plane back home, left behind personal items in the apartment she was staying, and the cell phone she took with her has not been used since that day. That bit of information is the one that has me thinking this will not have a happy ending.
Readers of this site know that an unused cell phone almost always leads to a missing person investigation turning into a murder investigation.…
COLORADO CITY, TX — Good morning, fuckos. I figured I would start out the day by reporting on two missing person cases making the rounds in the news this morning, starting with 13-year-old Hailey Dunn. Nancy Grace is covering this one so you may hear a lot more about her if she doesn’t turn up. Hailey has not been seen since December 27 after telling her mother’s boyfriend she was walking to a friends house to spend the night. She never made it there and oddly, the girl’s house she was supposed to be staying at has stated she wasn’t even aware Hailey was coming over. Hmmm. Police initially thought she may have been a runaway, but are now classifying her as a missing person, but not necessarily an abduction. Colorado City Police, Snyder Police, Mitchell County Sheriff’s deputies, Texas Rangers and the District Attorney’s Office have all joined in the search. Members of her community have even helped raise $10,000 to be used as reward money for anyone who helps bring her back home.…
