Veronika FilippovaRUSSIA – Ivan Kuzmin has been accused of setting his new bride on fire because she had sex with an ex-lover on their wedding night after he fell asleep.

According to reports, Veronika Filippova, 27, had an affair with an ex-boyfriend after Kuzmin passed out drunk at their wedding reception. She was so consumed with guilt that she later told Kuzmin everything.

This turned out to be a big mistake, because Kuzmin, 30, responded by dousing her with alcohol while she was sleeping. When she woke up and tried to escape, Kuzmin set her on fire with a cigarette lighter.

Filippova was rushed to the hospital with burns to over 80 percent of her body but would die a few hours later. Kuzmin was arrested and has admitted to murdering Filippova. He’s now facing 15 years in prison.

Too bad Kuzmin never admitted to Filippova that he’d once served ten years in prison for the attempted rape and murder an underage girl. Had he, none of this may have ever happened.

Sergey Domnyshev, an investigator in the Kirov district of Volgograd, confirmed Kuzmin was convicted of trying to rape a girl under the age of 18, then trying to destroy evidence by setting the apartment on fire with the girl still inside.

This is the definition of, “Well… that escalated quickly.”

  • Alexander Pataki

Oh, the Slavic people… Our lands may be cold, but out blood runs hot! A tip, ladies- if your guy passes out drunk on your wedding night, just TELL him he rocked your world- ‘spescially if he’s an ex-con.::

  • Texas Ranger

I don’t think either one of them was very committed to a stable marriage.

  • Kim Graves

    Wow flippova ugh so crazy

  • JohnQknowitall

After watching A Woman In Berlin I am not too surprised (great movie btw). I guess he is going back to where a bitch is more loyal… or else. I wonder which role he enjoys. Jesus Christ almighty—fire.

  • itsknotme

See!!! I told you. We had to buy go out and buy a wok just like ten other people. I said “Look it’s a ‘fire extinguisher.’ It’s an awesome wedding gift.” But no, you just wouldn’t listen.

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com/ Athena

Fuck that noise. If I’m not getting laid on my wedding night, I’m filing for annulment the next day.

  • wastintime

I read in another article that she has a young son, it didn’t give a age, but he looked around 7-9 years old.
I feel sorry for the poor kid.
Maybe Russia will get it right and despose of this worthless fuck.

  • link07

Or burned to death by a rapey arsonist extraordinaire.

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com/ Athena

Not if I’m not there to get doused… You think I’m going to sleep in the same room with a man who passes out drunk on our wedding night? When everyone knows the wedding night is ABOUT sex?

    Nuh-uh. Not this broad. :P

  • tkaz

In my experience, we’d already been having sex for 5 years & when we got back & put the kids to bed we were pooped! SO it was less about the sex & more about the sleep. We’re SO boring. ;)

  • tkaz

I liked these mainly because “fuck that noise” & “rapey arsonist extraordinaire” made me happy.

  • tkaz

If he’s raping & killing as a rule, I’d say if he hadn’t done it on their wedding night we would’ve done it at a later date. It was just a matter of WHEN.

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com/ Athena

My husband and I got married on our 10th anniversary (we’ll be celebrating 15 total this year). I got married by an ordained buddy while hanging out under a camouflage sleeping bag with little deers on it. No ceremony meant plenty of time and energy for the other. :)

  • BubblesinGriffinGA

only facing 15 years for murder, having burned someone alive?? An acquaintance of mine just got sentences to 12 for throwing one punch that broke a kid’s jaw, and even the victim thinks it’s far too much!

  • link07

My wife and I waited to have sex till marriage, needless to say thats basically all we did for a week. When we got back my co-workers were asking “did you see such and such waterfall…beach… building…” nope

  • jansav

    Sometimes you should just stfu.

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com/ Athena

    People still do that? ;)

  • 1DireWolf

The fucking idiot. He could have had blow jobs and kinky sex for decades due to her guilt over that one time fuck. I would have just waited a few months and set the old boy friend on fire. THINK MORON, THINK!

  • 1DireWolf

Send him to Siberia and throw him down at big hole.

  • wastintime

    I’m down with that.

  • Buffettgirl

How very “The Burning Bed” of him… fucker!

  • Robert Snow

So you basically think it is normal to cheat on your husband on the wedding night or perhaps you could clarify your comment. BTW, there is no remarks on the details of the crime he has committed in the past on the Russian MSI (I speak and read 5 languages) so it might be invented to make this news “hotter”.

  • Robert Snow

I probably would call it a Darwinian Selection. I mean c’mon, confessing to X-con that you have cheated on him on the wedding night?! Another question is why she bothered to merry.
Granted, the execution of a death penalty was kind of cruel and unusual. However, as long as 150 years ago she would be stoned to death with no punishment to the husband. I still doubt he will be sentenced to 15 years, not in Russia.

  • Robert Snow

Another moron. Would you do this settlement with your own wife? Or would you “overreact”? Have your heard of a legal term mitigating conditions: “if it can be proved that the killer was suffering from a condition that affected their judgment at the time”? Would YOUR mind be affected?

  • Robert Snow

Lust is one of the deadly sins. If the one cannot control it on the wedding night? Our modern civilization is too forgiving IMHO, perhaps a stricter punishment for some sins would be beneficial to our society in the long run. I am not advocating to burn somebody alive for submitting yourself to the lust on the wedding night though. A bullet in a head would suffice.

  • Robert Snow

I agree with you, the possible punishment is unjust. Should not be more than 3 years for killing a whoring wife due to mitigating circumstances (wedding night). On the other hand, an assault on the child (or was a kid of a legal age?) should be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law. I would give you acquaintance 20 to life.

  • Robert Snow

Why you all are trying to crucify that person who committed this crime and forget of the victim’s role in it? She was not an innocent stranger like in a case of serial killer. Put yourself in his shoes, if the common sense prevailed it would be no-news story, what if it wouldn’t?

  • Robert Snow

    Are you married?

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com/ Athena

I’m pretty sure you’re a troll, but I will point out that there are plenty of Middle Eastern countries that operate under this same thinking. Hasn’t been too beneficial for their societies, and many of them have had that long run.

  • Robert Snow

I am not a troll. I have expressed my opinion that might be different from yours so stop calling me names.
Would you say it is normal to cheat on your husband on the wedding night?

  • t3chsupport

Sounds like they were made for each other.

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com/ Athena

You’re attempting to justify a violent reaction to a victimless transgression. It’s extreme enough that I suspected trolldom.

  • link07

The guy killed someone in a particularly heinous fashion. Adultery is bad sure, breaks hearts, potentially ruins lives. BUT to kill someone with fire…. much worse and no possible recovery. FUCK this guy, what he has done is exponentially worse.

  • Robert Snow

I respect your opinion and I would probably not commit this crime given the circumstances. However, the victim is not innocent considering the facts. Although she did not deserve a death penalty under current law you still have to take into account the mitigating circumstances that are obviously present and WILL be presented in a Court of Law by his lawyer if he is not completely dumb resulting in his sentence (he certainly gets one) would be not significant.

  • link07

Dude your insane…what she did is horrible, but he has no right to kill her.

  • DeweyCheatam

lol … not to worry, nobody could possibly think you’re a lawyer.

  • Robert Snow

Mitigating circumstances, Would you be thinking straight? On the other hand we probably would not marry her in a first place.

  • DeweyCheatam

    Maybe he’s a Duggar? lol

  • Taster’sChoice

Do as I say not as I do, beyotch! lol

  • Taster’sChoice

Ouch. What if it sucked and you’re still married?

  • Robert Snow

    You are SO funny,

  • Robert Snow

    Link,

If you reread the post without emotions and scroll down you will understand my point. (no objections on the accusation of being insane :-))

  • tkaz

I wanted to make it clear that was a typo…haha!
    WE won’t be raping & killing….HE would.

  • tkaz

BUt…but…they submitted to lust to someone OTHER than their spouse.
I too am not advocating homicide but the lust was directed at the wrong person.
I’m thinking in modern civilization, you know, where murder is bad, that maybe an annulment is in order.

  • rohl

What may I ask “clouded his judgement” when he raped and tried to murder the girl before her? Look, this woman cheated and hurt someone’s feelings. This man tried to kill not one, but two people with fire. This woman is a danger the feelings of people she is with in a relationship. This man is a danger to everyone in society. Cheating is shitty (no one is arguing with you there), but burning people is bat-shit crazy. The danger to society lies with him, so bringing up the cheating (and trying to use that as a viable excuse) sounds too much like victim blaming to me. So, why don’t you go ahead and tell me what the first girl he raped and tried to murder did to “set him off”?

  • mean birch

    shut up troll.
hows that for interesting and witty comment.

  • JohnQknowitall

I am not sure where you got the idea that I believe that wedding day infidelity is a norm. I cannot think of a single reason why it would appropriate for one human to set another human on fire. Do you think think “punishment by fire” was appropriate for infidelity or any other social infraction?

As for the pyro-husband’s past crimes I only pointed out the math of the man’s age for the incident quoted in the article and expressing an opinion condemning the punishment of children with the sames weights as an adult.

  • link07

    It worked out ok ;)

  • Sejanus

    Russia….not even once.

  • wastintime

I never said what she did was right. I think cheating is one of the most despicable things in the world. But murder? And let’s not forget that he also tried to rape a young girl, then burned the building down to cover the crime. And he never told her about his past crimes. I don’t know about you, but murder, attempted rape, arson, those are a lot worse than cheating, in my opinion.

  • http://batman-news.com Stanley_Ipkiss

This guy could find himself being sent to the Black Dolphin prison, death would be better. Look that place up it is shocking, I watched a show about it a while back.

  • VenusDoom3

True, but… ever been cheated on?

  • King A sshole

I have, but I didn’t set that bitch on fire… I should have though.

  • thebossessecretary

I’ve been married three times. All three times I was so friggin tired after the wedding that I couldn’t have even told you my goddamn name. Who has the energy to screw some friend on their wedding night?

  • Twisted1

What if it was a whoring husband? Should I be able burn my husband for the same?

  • rohl

After being married to a Slavic man for 12 years I have to agree. Very passionate group of people, so hot blooded fits perfectly.

  • Rey Castro

Get a load of that loser. What a criminal.

  • cedric

Sounds like the wife was hot.

  • cedric

Athena – That’s pretty much what she did … except she beat your deadline, and had an enjoyable time. However there’s a price to pay for our actions especially if they involve cheating on a psychopath.

  • link07

    Burn

  • Delirious Devil

He was only in prison 10 years for the rape and attempted murder, he is getting 15 for murdering his wife. So, he was probably between 18-20 years old for the first crime.

  • Delirious Devil

Are you seriously advocating that cheating is grounds for murder? And you work with the criminal justice system…. The ONLY responses that should be acceptable to cheating are: Divorce/leaving the relationship or forgiving and moving past it. Murder is never acceptable for cheating. NEVER. A broken heart is not worse than being murdered. He had other options, he chose to be a murderer. Is cheating wrong? Yes, it is a jerk-faced thing to do, but it is not on the same level as murder.

  • JohnQknowitall

You are right and thanks for the correction. Personally I would give non-adult status to anyone under 22 yo because they most likely have not voted for any legislator yet who makes the law that they must adhere to and more importantly they are “childishly dumb” and have no firm grasp of reality in adult terms.
