GROVE CITY, PA — Police have charged 27-year-old Shawn Miller after they say he dragged a 9-year-old boy into a bathroom stall inside a Walmart.
The boy went into the Walmart restroom with his father and 6-year-old brother. After they left the bathroom, the boy was washing his hands when Miller allegedly came up behind him, grabbed him by the waist and dragged him into one of the stalls.
The boy was able to get away, but Miller reportedly grabbed him a second time and began pulling him back into the stall again. He only let the boy go when the boy started screaming for his father.
After running out of the restroom, the boy found his father and told him what had happened. The man was able to find Miller outside of the store, but Miller fled into a nearby wooded area.
Miller was quickly identified and apprehended after police supplied the media with some Walmart surveillance footage. “Walmart has exceptionally good video,” said Lt. Tom Dubovi, of Pennsylvania State Police.
Miller told police he tried dragging the boy into the stall, but only because he wanted to hit him for being “mouthy” with him in the bathroom. Uh-huh.
Shawn Miller is currently being held in the Mercer County Jail on charges of unlawful restraint and simple assault.
Regardless of what Miller’s intentions were in that bathroom, the entire time I was typing this up I couldn’t help but to be reminded of this scene from Rick and Morty:
