Sarah McLinnLAWRENCE, KS –  The Kansas teen reported missing shortly before her former boss was found dead in his home, has been found in Florida and charged with the man’s murder.

The body of 52-year-old Harold Sasko was found in his home on January 17 after the family of one of his former employees, 19-year-old Sarah McLinn, called police to report her missing. Sasko owned several CiCi’s pizza places in the area and had let McLinn move into his home in 2012.

Officers who found Sasko say he had suffered several traumatic injuries, and believed he was subdued and unconscious before an “edged device” was used to kill him. McLinn’s car was still in the driveway, but Sasko’s car and dog were misssing.

Police immediately began searching the area for McLinn and issued a nationwide alert to be on the lookout for McLinn and Sasko’s Altima. That searched ended a week later when, 1500 miles away, Rangers found McLinn illegally camping at Everglades National Park. She was living in Sasko’s car and was found with drugs and Sasko’s dog, Oliver. She was taken into custody on federal drug charges.

Florida authorities would later release those drug charges and the District Attorney’s office received a warrant for intentional premeditated first degree murder. Investigators say that based on the evidence they’ve collected, they believe McLinn was the only person responsible for Sasko’s murder, and that it was premeditated.

This contradicts statements made to McLinn’s mother. Michelle Gonzales says police told her that the attack seemed too brutal for her daughter to have conducted alone, and she believes her daughter is also a victim. McLinn is now awaiting extradition. If she waives extradition, she’ll be back in Kansas within days. If not, it could be months.

Some have already commented about Sasko letting the young, hot employee move into his home, hinting at nefarious motives. But one of Sasko’s ex-girlfriends says Sasko informed her he was letting McLinn move into his home to help the teen stay away from drugs and gang members she associated with. She also said she feared that this arrangement would not end well.

Sasko’s daughter said she wasn’t surprised by the charges. “Hearing the story the first time created a lot of questioning,” she stated. “I am, however, glad she is found. After the press release today, a lot of my suspicion has been confirmed. The charges against her come with no surprise.”
