Boy, 12, Accused Of Killing Family Dog By Injecting It With AirVENANGO TOWNSHIP, PA — A 12-year-old boy in Pennsylvania is facing animal cruelty charges after police say he intentionally killed a dog by injecting the animal with air.

According to police, the boy stole some syringes from a neighbor and used them to inject air into the family dog, a Labrador mix. After being injected, the dog became ill for a week before dying. Police say the boy knew that by injecting air into the dog’s blood vessels, that the dog could die.

The investigation is continuing, but Trooper Jason Domenick says he expects theft and cruelty to animals charges to be filed against the boy in juvenile court.

“I’ve never hear of anybody doing that,” said LeRoy Stearns, executive director of the Crawford County Humane Society. “That’s a new one on me. I’m dumbfounded.”

After running this site for a decade, I’m definitely not dumbfounded. In just the last two years, we’ve reported on an 11-year-old girl who beat a puppy to death, an 11-year-old boy who drowned a dog in a hot tub, and a 12-year-old boy who hanged a dog just to watch it die.

Serial killer alert! What a fucking psycho

  • Vesper B

When I was twelve, I called the Humane society on my godmother because she had hit her dog. I would’ve never imagined harming an animal. WTF is wrong with this kid?

  • RedScarab

Sounds like he killed the dog as a dry run.

  • Evan

i inject worms with air so their tails float upwards when they are on the bottom.

  • BrittBrittRoss

This is chilling…not only that he killed the dog, but his method, how did he think of this? He could have easily killed a person the same way…I wonder how he was found out…

  • Taxidermi

Some people are just meant to be sick twisted fucks I guess.

  • Taxidermi

probably bragged about it like any other kid his age ;(

  • Jessie

Doing it for science doeesn’t count :-p

  • Evan

    fishing, actually.

  • newstarshipsmell

Sorry, kiddo, but giving your pooch an air embolism will not confer upon it the uncanny ability to play basketball.

  • newstarshipsmell

    Science, fishing, same thing.

  • Jessie

Hahaha I don’t know why but I thought you were doing some weird shit w/ c. elegans in your lab or something :-) after re-reading your comment FISHING makes much more sense

  • Brent Williams

    HA!

  • Evan

I also keep them in watersoaked newspaper for a few days before i take them out fishing. they take on extra water and swell up. this is how the lunkers are caught.

  • JohnHousecat

So in the last two years there’s mounting proof that the Millennials have a higher rate of psychopathy in their age group?

  • itsknotme

    Was the dog an Airedale?

  • Buffettgirl

    Buh dum dum…

  • Buffettgirl

Makes me wonder if he sets fires and wets the bed… this kid was practicing for future mayhem, I don’t doubt that for a second. Fucking sick…

  • DeweyCheatam

My very first thought. What the hell is he gearing up for? And it ain’t good. They won’t hold him long, if at all, on these charges. If I were his family or anyone near him, I’d be very, very nervous.

  • masshole72

One thing comes to mind. This kid’s life should be terminated ASAP! He will NOT be a contributing member of society as an adult. What a sicko! UGH. This world is doomed!

  • Taxidermi

You hear about murderers first ‘practice’ on animals…
Well when I was younger, I knew this guy that found it amusing to bury kittens and get out the lawn mower (seriously one sick fucker…). Well he OD’d and I remember thinking that it was probably for the best, (I know that probably sounds HORRIBLE {maybe?}) but I just felt like this person was going to be some psycho serial killer.

  • Taxidermi

You don’t ‘terminate’ children. He needs mental help, and he is young enough that it COULD do him good and possibly get him started in the right direction.

  • Renee Waugh

    so does my husband

  • Buffettgirl

Not horrible at all! I would have danced in the streets and thrown a fucking parade if I’d known the kid! That is so fucked up, the lawn mower, shit, those poor kitties…

  • JohnQknowitall

I am not blaming the neighbor – not entirely anyway, but he/she did not keep his/her supply of (legally gotten?) syringes safe from children?

  • Taxidermi

Yeah, what a fucked up image x_x

  • Taxidermi

HOPEFULLY they are used for insulin injections, and not heroine (or whatever else you can shoot up :P ) :o

  • 1DireWolf

Maybe he could become Dexter and only kill pedos and animal abusers. Barring that at least he could be a good phlebotomist. Hell, he found a vein on a dog, I’ve had a few who couldn’t find a vein on me and I have huge veins.

  • Taxidermi

    lol

  • azrayaz

Someday a real rain will come and wash this scum off the streets.

  • DeadlockVictim

Thought this would involve a bicycle pump. There goes that Dig Dug reference.

  • Teresa Fine

Seriously, how did this kid know about the consequences of injecting air into a vein? And how did he even FIND a vein in the dog?

  • Kim

I don’t think I could find a vein in a dog with all that hair..but I guess they’re somewhere. Seems like I read once it takes 10cc of air to kill a human. The whole air bubble in the IV is a myth. That’s 10 insulin syringes but probably would take less depending on the size of the dog.

  • Faycin A Croud

Sociopathic tendencies tend to surface early on. This creature needs to be institutionalized for life, starting NOW. He will do this kind of thing again to more animals otherwise, and will eventually move on to humans. He needs to be locked up–for good, not for some namby pamby year or two. Sociopaths cannot change.

  • Faycin A Croud

Actually, research shows that you can’t change sociopaths. Someone who does something like this can’t be helped. They have no conscience or empathy and they do not respond to therapy. He needs to be institutionalized, permanently.

  • Twisted1

I knew a girl who was very sweet and would not hurt a fly. When she was a kid she abused animals. It was her way if acting out because of the horrible abuse she suffered. Her family knew of the abuse but pretended it did not happen.

  • Mr.CustodialArts

I did both of those things in abundance, but NEVER wanted to harm animals, EVER. I played with ants a lot. I don’t have many friends. I enjoy Fresca.

  • JohnQknowitall

If the needles were so easily gotten by this brat, regardless of the current legality of the needles, the neighbor’s house has the feel of a needle giveaway clinic.

  • Taxidermi

Nothing like some good old communicable diseases off dirty needles :D

  • http://www.dreamindemon.com Morbid

Just because this kid abused an animal does not make him a sociopath. A friend of mine abused animals as a kid as a way of acting out against the way he was treated at home. He’s a perfectly functioning father of three kids of his own.

  • DeweyCheatam

I agree with what you’re saying, generally, but I do think there is a difference between your friend abusing animals, another person who might abuse or kill animals in the more “traditional” way, like shooting a dog with a bb gun, and then the way out shit this guy did. The fact that he killed the animal is one thing. Injecting it with air? That’s psycho shit in my opinion. I also think, though, that it is possible for successful treatment if all the adults involved take this seriously and act decisively. Unfortunately, I don’t think 12 year olds get to this if they have decent adults / parents in their lives.

  • LovelyLady666

i wonder who raised them to be that way? oh…yeah…

  • Helen Payne

    starting of a serial killer

  • PondGal

Thank you!! I was thinking the same thing,…first off it would take a huge amount of air to kill the dog and I’ve been a nurse for almost 20 years and wasn’t able to hit a vein in my dog for some IV fluids,…….perhaps there is more to this story,……..

  • Ann Stone

    Somebody kill that kid, NOW!

  • Ann Stone

You sound like a real CUNT.

  • Evan

unlike yourself, who doesn’t sound like a cunt. But out of curiosity how did i rub you so wrong by saying in put a lil air in the tail’s of my worms for fishing?

  • Evan

that doesn’t sound cunty at all…..

  • glitterpuss

Just wow. No what he did sounds horrible, what happened to him sounds fantastic.

  • Aussie Sabbath

Oh that is so disgusting. Those poor little kittens. What a fucked up piece of shit. What would even possess someone to hurt animals for the sheer sake of it?
If that had happened in my neighbourhood, that freak’s house would have been burned to the ground. With his drugged arse in it.

  • Aussie Sabbath

All of you bleeding heart do gooders who whine “Oh but he can be fiiixxxxeddd!!” “He’s just a chhhillllddd” Listen up. This was a cold, calculated and precise way to kill the dog. This wasn’t experimentation. This kid would have had to go and find the needles, know that an embolism could kill and know how to inject the bubble into the dog.
You can bet your bottom dollar that he will use this technique on his parents one day for any perceived wrongs (not getting him a PS4 or some dumb shit like that). Or a sibling if they “wrong” him. This kid is dangerous. He needs to be removed from society yesterday.

  • Aussie Sabbath

That’s a really unhealthy way of coping with anything. I’d be very worried about what would happen to his kids if they played up or work got too stressful.
Some dick I went to school with bragged about running over a cat and watching it die. I told his girlfriend about what I heard and told her she’d better not be planning to have children with him, because he might hurt them and laugh about it. I don’t know what happened to them apart from they got married and had kids, but he’s probably run over one or both of them by now.

  • newstarshipsmell

Don’t mind our new village idiot, Evan. And try not to stare – that’s rude.

  • newstarshipsmell

Well, he did say that his friend wasn’t a sociopath – not that his friend’s behavior was healthy in any way, shape or form.

  • Evan

    touche my b

  • Natasha Fatale

They probably won’t hold him long if at all but they will make his ass go to counseling and/or get psychiatric help. We all now know what these signs are and mean and I’d be very very surprised if he doesn’t.

  • Taxidermi

I have to agree, I never witnessed it (thankfully) but he would brag about it all the time. I felt really conflicted when he died, I was happy because I honestly thought he would end up being a psycho killer- then I felt bad for being happy over his death lol

  • thebossessecretary

You’re the only person other than my husband that injects worms with air for fishing. He keeps trying to teach me how, and I keep trying to find any other goddamn thing to get away from learning.

  • thebossessecretary

Once upon a time, I raised my own animals for food. By the time you chop their heads off, watch them run around with no head, pluck them, gut them and fix them, your appetite is completely gone. If it wasn’t for modern grocery stores, I’d be an anemic vegetarian. Incredibly gross to prepare meat for the table from scratch.

  • thebossessecretary

How can you hate a damn dog that much? It’s just a dog.

  • technicolorpachyderms

There is? Do you have any proof of this?

  • Evan

ask him some time if he has read the book LUNKERS LOVE NIGHTCRAWLERS which is a fishing theory book written in the 60s. that’s where i got both tips

  • Evan

yes i agree. in fact, i typically wait at least a day after filleting before eating.

  • Buffettgirl

When we lived in Africa and my step-dad hit and killed a man on the highway the cops all sat around laughing hysterically. First it was “funny” because it happened to the American guy that had moved there just a few weeks ago. Secondly it was “funny” to them because it was an extremely intoxicated black man that was killed, and I guess in South Africa circa 1981 that was the height of hilarity. But the last part, the part they just HOWLED over laughing so hard was when one of them said my step-dad should go to Pretoria and see if he could be “awarded some kind of medal or something.” It was truly sick, it was as though those cops were a pack of mentally ill hyenas, cackling about the dead black man killed by the American… some shit just isn’t funny…

  • Rebecca Naseck Labbe

Thinking about South Africa in 1981, this sounds totally accurate to me. It was a messed-up time.

  • Buffettgirl

Having lived post Soweto riots, pre abolishment of apartheid for two years I’d have to agree. Did you live in SA?

  • Rebecca Naseck Labbe

No, I’ve never even visited. But I was a teenager in the 80s, and remember the news showing the riots, killings, Biko, Mandela, Sun City, etc., every night. So sad and senseless.

  • Buffettgirl

True… it was quite the culture shock to move from fairly liberal Portland, Oregon to Johannesburg, South Africa I can promise you that! Remember that song called “Sun City”? All the artists that vowed not to play there in late 1985? We’d only been home two years when that one came out, and we were home exactly a year (to the day) that the Band-Aid song “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” came out… that one still makes me choke up!

  • Rebecca Naseck Labbe

I do remember all of that! I also remember the Specials UK singing “Free Nelson Mandela”!

  • Buffettgirl

I hear that one in my head a lot! I cried like a baby on Dec 5th when my sister emailed me to tell me that he had passed away…

  • Rebecca Naseck Labbe

    BTW, I meant Specials AKA.

  • Buffettgirl

I actually read it the way it should have been… ;-)

  • RedScarab

You give up on adults. You have to make an attempt to save the kids IMO.

  • RedScarab

yeah but he probably molests them

  • Evan
  • Aussie Sabbath

Yes, but that sort of wiring is wrong. Lacking empathy towards animals and using them for his own punching bag does speak volumes about how he’s wired for stress relief.
Now that he has his own children to use as punching bags when times get tough, that behaviour might well surface again.

  • Heather_Habilatory

I’m in a rural state so hunting is a huge thing. I’d love to go hunting, but my husband and his family’s rule is if it you kill it you, have to field dress it yourself.

Nope. Can’t do it. That metallic blood smell hits my nose and I’m done for.

  • Heather_Habilatory

He intentionally murdered a dog. I’m sure he wasn’t past a little B&E.

  • Heather_Habilatory

Law & Order is the first time I remember hearing about an air embolism. I’ve been watching t since it came on TV.

  • Lady Lycanthrope

Killing animals is usually a sign for bigger mental issues to pop up. Sociopath perhaps?

  • Aussie Sabbath

All the more reason to get rid of him. Sociopaths and psychopaths can’t be fixed.

  • Aussie Sabbath

A.A., is that you who downvoted me? I thought you’d died after your third heart attack! Sorry your wife let herself go. I guess you shouldn’t have run over your own children for shits and giggles. I’m not sorry you failed Year 12 Art class in 2007.

  • Kim

Thanks got bit by a Dachshund while running once. Hurt like hell. Spawn of satan dogs.

  • Ann Stone

Who are you to do something so horrible to someone else? Just because others are too stupid/callous to see the cruelty, does not mean it isn’t a cruel thing to do. I guarantee you, all the FREAK, FUCKING HORRIBLE things we see happening on this site, would not happen, if we respected the lives of others (& I’m talking ALL others) more. Thing is, people like you DON’T WANT to see an end to this shit, you enjoy it too much.

  • wolfe

People like to tell themselves that “having decent adults/parents” keep kids from being sociopaths, but that just isn’t sociopaths. Sociopaths are usually born that way, and no amount of help or support or therapy changes them.

  • Aussie Sabbath

A person who is cruel to animals cannot possibly be a good person.
Functioning does not mean good. It just means he hides his psychopathic tendencies better.

  • mrskailuakona

It’s just the tip of an ice berg about to blow up in his parent’s faces then maybe after he gets a gun he’ll kill others serial killers start as kids killing animals then move up to killing humans. He’s a ticking time bomb about to explode so too bad animals are treated like humans when they’re killed. Then again he’s just facing juvie no big deal a vacation away from his parents. I hope & pray they are barred from owning pets. I hope the neighbor who knows this dog will rat the family out so no other animals or small children will ever cross paths with this psycho age 12.
