The relationship between 42-year-old Robert Chesters and his daughter’s friend was discovered after the girl’s friends found sex-related text messages on her phone and alerted a guidance counselor at their middle school. The messages found are as disgusting as they are cringe-inducing.
“I love you so much and I am glad I love you so much as I do sometimes I wish I didn’t love you as much as I do so I would not worry about you leaving,” Chesters texted the girl. “You told me to trust you and I am but admittedly I do get worried you will find somebody much better and much better looking and obviously younger and I cannot wait to see you tonight as my girlfriend/lover either. Bob.”
Other texts seem to back up the girl’s claims that Chesters was drugging his daughter so that they could have their sexual encounters without being caught. “I am so lost without you 🙁 [blank] is gone next weekend And [blank] will have Benadryl so you can lay with me comfortably and love me,” (*gag*)
On Sept 10, Chesters told police that he’d known the girl for about five years. He said he and the girl had formed a close relationship over the last couple of months after his wife of 20 years died a year earlier. However, he denied having any sexual contact with the girl.
This contradicts some of the messages he sent the girl, including one that stated, “When we made love last night your heart really showed through everything. Your heart is all I need making love to you is just a wonderful beautiful bonus. I love you so much baby and I cannot wait to see and hold you again. Bob.” (*wretch*)
The following morning, Chesters, texted the girl some advice. “As a last resort tell them [blank] will lose her dad for ten years if they say anything. No matter what happens I LOVE YOU.” (*vomit*)
When police arrived at his home later that day, they found Chesters sitting unresponsive in his pickup truck with a suicide note on the floor. The note was addressed to his children and the girl, the entire contents have not been released, but he does apologize for being in love with the girl.
Chesters was taken to the hospital, where he recovered, and was then taken to prison on charges of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.Tags: Child Molestation, Connecticut, Crime, Drugs, Rape, Robert Chesters
